An Immediate Impact

If the highest religious authorities in Islam would publicly denounce murders done by the Islamic State, al-Qaeda, and Palestinian terrorists, those murders would soon end. That respected muftis and imams do not condemn these killings is especially telling. It is a tacit endorsement of murder. Some clerics have even openly done the opposite and applauded wanton murder. Unless and until respected leaders of the Islamic faith denounce killing in the name of Islam, expect that killing to continue. Islam will not truly be a "religion of peace" until religious authorities in Islam demand peace.
