Failure of Leadership

Anyone who could not anticipate that urban protests would spiral into looting was willfully blind. The dereliction of duty of Tennessee's Governor Bill Lee and Nashville Mayor John Cooper should astound. Why was the National Guard not deployed preemptively in Tennessee's capital city? These politicians who failed to protect businesses and even government buildings are nearly as responsible as the rioters for the damage that was incurred as any leader with a grain of sense would have deployed sufficient force that lawbreakers dare not act up and that show of force would have staved off most, if not all, of the damage.

Protests Must Cease

Martial law must be imposed in a number of American cities. Legitimate protests with plenty of good cause started in Minneapolis and Louisville, but were quickly subsumed by outside agitators, largely white and mainly constituted of ANTIFA members and Black Flag anarchists in riots across the country. A handful of Communist Party USA members have joined in the violence as well. This outbreak of urban violence may be spontaneous in some cases, but in others may have been planned in advance. In almost all cases, very few members of local African-American communities have breached the peace, though they have, as would ordinarily be their right, gathered to protest police abuses. Because of the outsiders who have infiltrated the peaceful demonstrations to spark violence, burn, and loot, the forces of government must temporarily suspend the ordinarily protected right of assembly in those areas where riots have or are expected to take place. I do not take lightly suspending any aspect of the US Constitution, but in this exigency, the normally unthinkable must be done. If any event in my lifetime has risen to a national emergency, this one is it.

Law and Order

We can not tolerate chaos and anarchy on the streets of America. Order must be restored to the streets of Minneapolis and anywhere else copycat disruption is taking place. Justice should be swift and certain for the victims of police abuses, but the nation must not be allowed to descend into disorder.

Some Amazing Abilities

The wonderful dog I described in yesterday's post had some unusual talents. Soon after we collected Casey, our state's heavyweight college football program, the Tennessee Volunteers, started their run toward their last national championship. We would sing Rocky Top at home with the fans in the stands and Casey would "sing" right along with us. Casey was also fastidiously clean for a dog fellow, wanting to wash his "hands" in his water bowl every time he returned from a walk. (Sometimes, he would wash his back paws too). He was also a bodyguard to our family. He would stay between us and any visitor and would growl if anyone outside the family and my girlfriend made a move toward any of us. Casey was a grand dog and none of the others are quite like him.

Most Remarkable Dog

My first Keeshond was a foundling. My long-term ex picked him up wandering on a Nashville street. We sponsored him at the Nashville Humane Society in our attempt to reconnect him with his rightful owner. Without our sponsorship, the Humane Association had wanted to put him down right away, saying he was an Akita with a growth hormone problem. In fact, he was just a huge (for the breed) male Keeshond, who had been shaved down. We took him at the end of the two weeks when no one came forward to collect him. My ex named him "Max". He never seemed to answer to that name. We could not keep him at my ex's condo, so he ended up at my parent's home. One day early on there, Mom and I were trying out names to see if non-"Max" heard a familiar one. In the list, I said "Casey". I wasn't paying close attention, and Mom insisted I say the name again, saying the dog had evinced recognition. I didn't know which sobriquet she wanted me to repeat, but when I figured she saw the dog respond to that name, I repeated "Casey". The now former "Max" excitedly ran to me in joyful spinning circles, telling us we had discovered his original name. Casey was my unforgettable boy, who certainly left us too soon.

Not the Virus

COVID-19 certainly has killed some Americans, but it is the politicians who have killed America. The United States could survive a very transmissible disease, but we can not endure having the job-creating engine of small business eradicated in this country by government edicts.

So Very Fragile

Who would have thought a virus could destroy America? Who would have guessed that government would have forced the permanent closure of a third of the nation's small businesses by "locking down" "non-essential" businesses for a couple of months? Who would have surmised that we would go from almost full employment to forty-seven million unemployed and well over one hundred million able adults out of the workforce in the span of two months? We have a country that could very well fail and will certainly do so if Joe Biden is elected.

Owning a Classic

I happen to have a 1968 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. It has relatively low mileage for a vehicle of that era. Unfortunately, it has set motionless in my grandmother's garage since the 1970s. It would be a miracle if it ever runs again.

My First Car

My great-grandmother was from an era where her first vehicle was a wagon pulled by a Clydesdale named Ben. My first car was a bit more modern, a 1978 Jeep Wagoneer. I sure wish I still owned that beauty.

Contact Tracer Army

I do not want my cellular telephone or any government agent following me everywhere under any circumstances. If this tracking is imposed under the pretext of COVID, I expect a second revolution in America.

Party of Paternalism

The Democrats have become the party that believes the people are too stupid to take care of themselves. I think the beginning of this went as far back as Woodrow Wilson and was reinforced by FDR. President Johnson advanced interference in our lives still further with his "Guns and Butter" advance toward socialism. Obama tried to reach still farther into controlling us with his Obama Care attempt at national health care. Republican politicians still think Americans are mostly able to take care of ourselves.

Led Like Sheep

I believe we are forfeiting freedom that we may never regain in the vain hope that our leaders can magically make us immune to death if we only follow their every edict. You know there are mask-wearing doctors who caught COVID anyway. You know the virus travels farther in a cough than the six feet of social distancing. A lot of what we are being ordered to do is like the TSA airport treatment, it only provides an illusion that government is doing something to protect us, but in creating this illusion, they are stripping us of our fundamental liberties including assembly, religion, and even the right to earn a living.

Most Corrupt Representative

I do not think anyone in Congress today can hold a candle to Ilhan Omar in terms of raw corruption. Omar, with multiple husbands including her own brother, including two husbands at the same time, and graft rarely seen in America, might even lay claim to most corrupt member of the House of Representatives ever. I doubt she will be reelected, but you never know.

Pulling the Strings

I would not say that Barack Hussein Obama orchestrated every detail of the soft coup against President Trump because Obama did not have to, as his subordinates could handle the details. I am saying Obama set the ball rolling on the usurpation. This is the first time in American history that a predecessor President has actually attempted to remove his successor.

State of Chaos

If Puerto Rico votes for statehood, it will fit right in with several corruption-ridden, Democrat-controlled states. In fact, it has been a paradigm of how not to handle both natural disasters and routine administration of government, failing at both. If Puerto Rico becomes our fifty-first state, it will be the first new state to have to climb out of failed-state status from its inception.

WHO the Heck

President Trump is apparently going to restore US funding to the World Health Organization. Considering the WHO is still being led by a mouthpiece for Red China, the same Ethiopian who covered up COVID-19 when it might have been containable, this decision to provide American backing is inexplicable. If Trump wants an organization to provide medical outreach to the world, he should start a new one without the taint of corruption of the WHO.

Lock Down Nashville

My hometown Mayor John Cooper has extended the lock down of Nashville through June. He seems determined to destroy many small businesses with this edict which comes on top of his thirty-two percent property tax increase proposal. Cooper is going to drive some lifelong Nashvillians away from here.

Liberty or Tyranny

I always thought that in America, government worked for us, the citizenry. Now it seems in too many places, we are no more than serfs to government. My hometown mayor in Nashville has "ordered" Nashvillians around. I do not see Mayor Cooper winning another term here. Michigan has a tyrant in the governor's office. Other states are similarly afflicted. This will only change when enough lovers of freedom say "NO MORE".

Floodgate on Obamagate

Barack Hussein Obama orchestrated a plot to remove his successor from office or at least cripple President Trump's attempts to achieve anything. It was not merely the "Deep State" that sought to undermine Donald Trump but the former President himself who set a soft coup in motion. Obama was the head of a devious snake that is active to this day in its effort to prevent a Trump reelection win. I said over a decade ago, "elect a Third World leader and get a Third World country". That is exactly what we have with Obama and his cadre trying to sabotage the Trump administration.

Mostly Meaningless Metric

My worthless Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander wants more testing for COVID-19 before the US economy fully reopens. Testing to what end I ask? You could test negative for Coronavirus at the start of the day and be infected without knowing it by the end of your shift. You could be silently spreading COVID to your previously healthy coworkers throughout the day though everyone but a solitary customer, who did not know he was sick either, tested negative when the day started. Testing has its place when figuring out who needs treatment and who does not because they have something else, but what the nation and world need are treatments, a cure, and a vaccine or vaccines.

Assuming a Risk

With every activity, a person assumes a risk. People have fallen in their showers and been killed. Does that mean you should never take a shower? Maybe, but if you never wash yourself, you probably will not have many friends. Seriously, every act from walking down stairs to driving to a doctor's appointment confers a risk. Some will die from COVID-19, but all will die of something. Go out and live, mask yourself if you are more comfortable, but life is passing us by during this plague.

Not Going Viral

A few months ago, just about everyone with a social media account wanted something they submitted to "go viral". Now that we see the awful damage a real virus has done, very few people would choose the word "viral" for anything positive, and it is certain no sane person wants to test positive for COVID-19.

Engineers- Part Two

The social engineers have done a great job of breaking up the family. They incentivized women to have children without having the father in the household. Look at all the good that has done. Those engineers knew family was an archaic notion and unnecessary institution that would be readily supplanted with super woman single mothers, able to hold a job and rear children at the same time without the slightest difficulty. Bless these engineers for their vision.

The Social Engineers

The world just celebrated the seventy-fifth anniversary of the victory over Nazism. US sons of the Depression had a major role in defeating the bloodthirsty and benighted totalitarianism of Hitler. These heroes had grown up with prayer in their public schools. I would guess most of them prayed fervently until victory was achieved (and thereafter). I see my nation of liberators riven now with the worst crisis since that war, equaling if not surpassing the Great Depression. I say restore school prayer and end these attempts at banishing God from the public square. I guess I am not sophisticated enough to understand the damage prayer has been doing to America the way the social engineers do. They can keep their insight. I will stick to my faith and along with millions of others repent to restore our nation.

Red China Revolt

There are plenty of Uighur Muslims, freedom-loving Tibetans, and Han Chinese tired of the tyranny of their oppressors. The Chinese people know they have been lied to and denied rights almost everyone outside of Red China enjoys. Instead of talking about war with Beijing, the US should be cultivating lovers of liberty in China to overthrow their despots themselves.

Not New Normal

No nation or society can long survive with a third of able-bodied workers sidelined by fiat of government. We can not accept grandparents being deprived of contact with their grandchildren. We can not endure police arresting people for standing too close together or for not being able to find a suitable mask. We need a national effort to find a vaccine and/or cure for the plague that Red China let loose on the world.

Our Daily Bread

When government deprives us of our ability to earn, it is tyranny. Even if government doles out money and provides benefits, it is harming our self-reliance and tearing away our dignity. Most of us do not wish to be wards of the state. No job is non-essential. People work to provide for themselves and their families. No welfare program can ever replace the satisfaction of depositing a pay check after a job well done. I watched a Texas judge throw a salon owner in jail because he is power-mad and arrogant. I see mayors, including my own in Nashville, and governors stealing freedom and dignity and I do not know how long lovers of liberty will endure such intolerable acts.

Do You Trust?

When the media reports there are no shortages of food and you should not be hoarding, do you believe them? Would such a trusted institution as our press lie? I went in a grocery yesterday that was fully stocked (WITH EMPTY SHELVES)! They had plenty of nothing to sell and we will surely have plenty of nothing to eat.

Balderdash Against Trump

President Trump did not craft the models that contended two and a half million Americans would die of COVID-19. The President did not later calculate the projections of sixty thousand deaths. If the toll turns out to be one hundred thousand or more deaths, the President can not be held to account for death count estimates that he did not make. He is simply relying on experts as every President must do for many things. It is disgusting to see Trump's opponents manipulating a plague to try to smear the President.

Famine in America

The COVID lock down is destroying our economy and our nation. Ultimately, disrupting normal business in the way that government dictated will kill far more than any virus ever could. We are seeing empty grocery store shelves and food lines miles long across the country. We will find our social distancing destroyed society. Multitudes here in America will die of the effects of poverty. Some will starve on our streets.

Bill Clinton's Tradition

It seems like Joe Biden might be more like President Clinton than anyone realized. I do not know if Biden is a volume adulterer to the extent ole Bill is, but Biden may be every bit the sexual abuser. Eight women have apparently come forward alleging improprieties rising from "violation of personal space" right up to outright molestation. The amazing aspect of this is that all eight accusers are themselves Democrats. Biden does not now seem like such a good Joe after all, but he is living out the Kennedy-Chris Dodd waitress sandwich, Bill Clinton "you might want to put some ice on that" pattern of abusing women.

Created Versus Spread

President Trump has NOT said that Red China engineered COVID-19 in a lab in Wuhan or anywhere else. What Trump contends, that is undeniable, is that Communist China lied about and covered up the Coronavirus causing the rest of the world to keep their guard down, instead of taking the preventative measures that would have saved lives around the globe. President Trump recognizes that you are just as dead from negligent homicide as deliberate murder. Beijing's dissembling and obfuscation could even be seen as an act of war against every nation on the planet where anyone contracted this new plague because of the great wall of lies China constructs to save the face of Communist leadership.
