Could Be Worse

2023 was not a banner year. I had seven cousins die from February on, and had some health issues for the first time. The coming year is a new opportunity, and I pray it brings blessings and abundance. 

Not Like Before

This football season, we are witnessing shells of teams play each other in college football bowl games. The best players, those who contributed the most during the regular season and were the difference makers, are sitting out. They have often either entered the transfer portal or are protecting their viability for the NFL, but are leaving the squads they were essential to in the lurch. I had witnessed a handful of pro prospects opt out in previous seasons, but nothing like we see now, and the transfer portal is warping bowl season. The competition on the field may still be exciting, but it is between teams that are materially different than they were in the run-up to earning their bowl berths. 

Good Neighbor Solution

Until the criminal enterprise posing as a country to America's south blocks the migrant caravans and does its part to secure the border, the United States should halt the remittances from the United States from entering Mexico. The corruption in our neighbor is so thorough and complete that the cartels are now generating more revenue than the Mexican oil industry. The US ought to give the Mexican government the incentive to clean up their country, or just conquer them, block the aliens, and stop the fentanyl that has killed so many Americans, and use the power we have to set things right. 

Injection of Poverty

What kind of leader wants to keep people poor? A ruler who wants folks dependent on him. One such leader is named Biden. 

Injection of Prosperity

Every apparatus of the government and more broadly, the Deep State, will do all they can to boost the economy in the run-up to the Presidential election, not because they seek to help the People, but because they want Trump to lose. This is already observed in the actions of the supposedly non-partisan Federal Reserve in halting the rise in interest rates. Every agency of government will ease up a bit in socking it to the taxpayers, but this is only temporary. If Trump does not prevail, the bureaucrats and government functionaries will slap the lid back down on free enterprise the moment they know their authority to do so is secured for another four years. 

No More Amateurism

In men's college basketball and football in America, the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) selling has essentially ended amateur sports. The best players will only go to the best teams where they will be the most marketable. This scheme therefore damages competition and makes it much more difficult to elevate programs that are not already competing at the highest level. What kind of NIL deal will a player be able to secure at a mid-major or a team that always stalls out at the bottom of a Power 5 conference? The NCAA did not want to enter play for pay as it was actually committed to the ideal of "amateur competition", but was forced to initiate NIL by courts. Now, you will have the powerhouses enhance their dominance with what must be characterized as professional players. 

The Satanic Stalinists

I saw a video posted of a DemocRAT staffer literally kiss a skull that was part of a Satanist display. When the sacrament of your faith is abortion, there are few things you won't stoop to, including praise for the devil himself. On that (unhappy) note- MERRY CHRISTMAS! 

Who Has Resolve?

The Blitz on London did not weaken England in World War II but strengthened their determination to beat the Nazis. October 7, 2023 a pogrom of Jews occurred like none witnessed since the Holocaust, but that has only steeled Israel to vanquish the Hamas murder movement. These jihadists shout "we love death more than you love life", but in the event, few terrorists are fighting to their deaths but they are surrendering in droves. The terrorists unleashed hell on themselves with the unprovoked massacre they thought was the beginning of the end for the Jewish State. Israel will prevail! 

Hamas Cease Fire

While most of the world demands the party that was attacked on October 7 cease fire, it is the side that did the attacking that could end the war in the Middle East instantly. If that terrorist organization released all the hostages and laid down arms, it is likely that Israel would not prosecute ordinary members and might even exile leaders rather than prosecute them. The Jewish State would likely accept a demilitarized Gaza with international, possibly Egyptian, administration with a great degree of autonomy for the Gazans, and the verifiable abandonment of weapons as the only non-negotiable aspect. Israel has always sought peace. It is their neighbors that have not permitted that. 

Who Actually Attacked?

Israel has a massive, well-equipped modern military. Before October 7, the Jewish State was content to shelter behind walls and fences while a genocidal enemy lurked just on the other side. The IDF even deployed the world's first area missile defense called "Iron Dome" to mitigate the need to enter Gaza to quell what otherwise would be murderous attacks from above. It was not a pleasant way to live for Israelis, but it seemed to obviate the need for Israel to go on the offensive to deter Hamas. All that changed when barbarians tore through that fence to conduct a merciless massacre of every Jew they could, men, women, children, and even babies in their cribs, and at least one ripped from her mother's womb. Then terrorists did what the always do. They fled back to Gaza to hide behind the own civilians. This is not a war Israel started. This is not a war of choice. The struggle in Gaza is a war for the very survival of the Jewish State. 

The Real Criminal?

There are numerous accusations against Donald Trump. They are whole cloth and political interference. Joe Biden, on the other hand, has been influence peddling for years. Trump has a huge ego but did not have to break the law to make his fortune. Biden family wealth is undeniably ill-gotten. If you want honest government, elect honest people. Trump is a truth teller and promise keeper, while Joe, on the rare occasion now that he is able to remember, is utterly dishonest. 

Colorado Election Interference

The fundamental aspect of a "free election" is being able to vote for the candidate you want. In Cuba or Venezuela, there are plenty of votes, but only candidates who meet the government's approval are on the ballot. Colorado wants to stage this kind of election. They are not merely keeping a man off a ballot (including being a write-in candidate), but denying millions of their citizens the right to vote for the candidate of their choice. Yes, they are blocking Trump, but much more important than any individual is the ability to vote freely, which the so-called "Supreme Court" of Colorado has just denied, by disenfranchising not Trump, who does not vote there, but the citizens whose rights courts are supposed to protect. 

All But Forgotten

The October 7 massacre took all the oxygen from the room. Whether Hamas intended or not, they stole the spotlight from Putin's invasion of the Ukraine. I bet little Vlad could hug the jihadists in thanks for giving his particular butchery cover with their thirst for innocent Jewish blood. While Israel needs and deserves support for fighting terrorists, we must not forget that a despot with ambitions for conquest still stalks Europe. 

Our Green Overlords

Those in power are not for the environment. They are against humanity. They hate people. They do not want you prosperous and free. They envision themselves as feudal lords and the rest of us as their serfs. They are keen to block carbon dioxide, which would include your exhalation. Do not let these tyrants in the making rob you of your ability to travel, heat your home and food, and even control the clothes that you may purchase. Anyone that would even conceptualize these controls to be impose over others must be stopped! 

Two State Mindlessness

There will never be a Palestine living side by side in peace with a Jewish State, simply because the Palestinians will not accept it. The aim of the Palestinians writ large (although there are individual Palestinians who are exceptions) is to wipe out the Jewish State. There is no point of compromise between remaining alive in safety in a more or less secure country and being driven into the sea by religious fanatics. It is time the rest of the world stop doing the bidding of the mad mullahs of Iran and allows Israel to vanquish the terrorist threat it faces not just in Gaza but also from Lebanon, once and for all. Then, so-called "Palestinian" leadership can be cultivated that does not want all the Jews of the Middle East dead or Dhimmi. 

Who Deserves Country?

The Kurdish people have fought terrorism. They have stood against Al-Qaeda and ISIS and have been killed protecting the world from these bloody-handed thugs. The forty-five million Kurds deserve a free and independent state of their own. You know who does not- the modern day Nazis calling themselves Palestinian freedom fighters. All they have brought forth is bloodshed and terror. 

Seeking Peace Partner

Neither Hamas (obviously) nor the Palestinian Authority actually want peace with the Jewish State. Iran, a regional menace pushing Shia hegemony, certainly does not seek peace, even if individual Iranians hate their leaders and have nothing against Israel. The Sunni states saw the  Jewish State as a hedge against the Islamic Republic, but do not go so far as to embrace Israel as an ally, even when they need the IDF as a deterrent to preserve their own regimes by blocking Iranian machinations. There are no great options to point to as being the long-term peace partner to fill the void when Hamas is vanquished, because few in the Muslim world and none with real power actually want peace with the Jews. 

No Other Army

The IDF is going to extraordinary lengths to spare noncombatants in Gaza, so much so that it is giving up the element of surprise essential to minimizing casualties among Israeli forces. Ten soldiers died yesterday because Hamas knew exactly where they were coming because the IDF gave advance warning so civilians could flee, and the terrorists deployed improvised explosive devices to ambush the Israelis. None of the incredible care the Jewish State is taking for Palestinian civilians really matters to the rest of the world as they condemn Israel anyway and continue their demand that the Jewish State unilaterally cease fire. 

The Indiscriminate Targeting

The putative leaders of the United States and Canada have called out Israel for "indiscriminate targeting" and the targeting of children in Gaza. The IDF has not been doing what is alleged, but just the opposite, as the Israeli forces have had their own soldiers killed in an effort not to harm hostages taken October 7, and have taken great care to avoid harming Palestinian noncombatants. The IDF continues to fight under the doctrine of "Purity of Arms", which is a higher standard than the military of any other nation. Israel adheres to this even at the cost of life to Israeli fighters. When Assad in neighboring Syria would reduce an area entirely with artillery and barrel bombs, the Israeli forces go house to house and door to door, losing men, to make sure that among the Gazans only the jihadists are killed. No other country would take such care. The real "indiscriminate targeting" is by stupid Western leaders like Biden and Trudeau who demonize the only friend their peoples have in the Middle East. 

Epitome of Education

Is there any way that a Jew-hating plagiarist could become the head of one of the most revered universities? I am just asking for a friend who said that a trade school would not hire somebody like that. 

"The Israelis Claim"

The international media has done all it could to sew doubt and undermine the narrative of the Jewish State since October 7. They have reported the terrorist organization Hamas's claims as fact, even when it turns out they are lies, because they are against Israel, as we saw in the reporting in the immediate aftermath of the explosion at Shifa Hospital. At the same time, the world's press has almost invariably voiced skepticism of what the Israeli side asserts. They have held the IDF to the impossible standard of fighting terrorists attacking civilians, holding hostages, and hiding behind their own noncombatants to not harm anyone but the jihadists themselves. It can't be done. You can't accomplish what the Jewish State needs to for survival with an expectation that nobody but the terrorists will be harmed. It is not Jews who are responsible for Palestinian suffering (which the IDF is exercising great care to minimize). It is Hamas. 

Was Joe Oblivious?

It is certain that Joe Biden has now experienced mental decline. It is not possible though that when he was younger and more fully in control of his faculties that he was not aware his family members were profiting off his name and office. If Joe actively was battling dementia as Vice President, we would have known it. 

Hunting the Hunter

What did Hunter Biden have to sell if it was not influence peddling in which his father willingly participated? Was Hunter an expert on energy? Did Hunter actually do legal work as the trained attorney that he is to earn those massive payments? No, he admitted in an interview that he is not well-versed in what Burisma had to sell the world. No, there were no time sheets kept reflecting any service as a lawyer Hunter provided. The only marketable item Hunter had to offer was access to his father. The Biden fish rots from the head down. 

Time for Comeuppance?

Are Hunter Biden's chickens finally coming home to roost? No, Hunter has the same chance of actually serving time in jail or prison as I have of flying by flapping my arms. Even if by some miracle, Biden is convicted, Daddy would pardon him. Hunter is as safe as houses.  

The Real Enemies

Those who fly planes into high-rise buildings and sever children's heads are not against only Jews, but foes of all humanity. If the barbarians succeed in eradicating Jews, do you not see they will go after Christians too and Buddhists, and Hindus, and agnostics, and atheists, and everyone who believes any different from them? The fight in Gaza is not just Israel against Hamas, but civilization against darkness. 

Israel's Sinister Settlers

The United States is getting serious. The State Department is really going to sanction those Bible-believing Jews for having the temerity to live in their Biblical heartland. Jews who refuse to lay down and have their throats slit by genocidal "Palestinians"will be denied entry visas into the United States.Yes, if the Jews of Judea, Samaria, and even part of Jerusalem assert their right to self-defense, the Biden regime in an attempt to keep Michigan blue by wooing the Muslim vote will deny "settlers" access to America. The settlers are not colonizers or occupiers but fruit of the same lineage that was on the land over two thousand year ago. It is the swarming hornets (trying to slaughter their peace-loving Jewish neighbors) who are the source of all the troubles. If American leadership now was moral, they would only sanction the side that wants to push the other into the sea. Jewish folks around the world will not be cowed and will continue to declare "Next year in Jerusalem", not Poughkeepsie or Petaluma, but the eternal and indivisible capital of the Jewish People. The State Department can stuff their visas. Jews will stick to what the Lord promised. 

Balance in Conflict

America, for mystifying reasons, sees a need to provide balance in the conflict between Israel and the "Palestinians". Was balance needed when the world fought the Nazis? The State Department is going to see make sure those vicious Jewish "settlers" are meted out punishment for trying not to have their throats cut by their authentically genocidal neighbors. Of course, Foggy Bottom has never embraced Jews, who are so few, while Muslims are so many and have far more oil than Israel has. This quest for "balance" may also involve some electoral number crunching by the Biden regime. Jews in America will not determine the outcome of any elections, but Muslims in the state of Michigan likely will. The United States does not need to demonize the so-called Jewish occupiers, because the rest of the world is already doing this. Then again, the diplomats facilitated the first Holocaust, so why would they not countenance another? 

State Department Hijinks

The United States is going to exclude some bloodthirsty, murderous Palestinian terrorists from entry into America. They are also going to block the visas of Jews in Judea and Samaria who are unwilling to be parties to their own murders. Seems fair- right? 

Truth About Climate

Schemers and scammers are using the man-caused climate change hoax to enhance their wealth and power. They are tyrants who will never comply with the restrictions they are imposing on the rest of us. They are flying where they want on private jets to the most lavish destinations while ordering you to drive an electric car that will never meet your needs. These are not limousine liberals but despots in the making who are pushing to supplant the real demand economy with one they control, wherein they profit from the changes they force on you. Fifteen minute cities and ULEZ are prisons with the ultra wealthy as warders. You don't expect Bill Gates to ever live within the confines he is pushing, so why should you? 

Does Iran Care?

As the United States makes bellicose statements about how they will thwart aggression by Iran, the Islamic Republic laughs. The mad mullahs realize American bluster means nothing, so long as the theocracy that has enslaved Iran remains unscathed. The Biden regime will never threaten Tehran or even really go after Iranian nukes, despite US protestations to the contrary. Israel is on its own in blocking an atomic mushroom cloud engulfing Tel Aviv.   

Leave Washington Out

Washington Husky football hides from Southern teams. The opponents they dominate are not very good. They don't belong in the championship. The best four teams right now in college football are Michigan, Texas, Alabama, and Georgia. Why does FSU merit any consideration? Because at the start of the season they beat a mediocre LSU team from the SEC that is tougher than the ACC, that makes little sense, as that Tiger squad is not among the elite from the real league. The tournament will probably have the major undefeated ballers, even though, except for Michigan, they would probably be in the middle of the pack of the Southeastern Conference. 

Requires Precision Bonding

I watched a beloved teacher of mine back in high school set up dioramas of battles with tiny but realistic models he constructed. That instructor was named Albert Gaines, but a few of the students closest to him referred to him as "Uncle Albert"or "Uncle Al" with much respect. He was a man's man who had won a state high school football title at Hillsboro around 1960. I asked him why he was using minuscule drops of a really expensive bonding agent from a specialty store to put the figures together. Uncle Al stated you needed a "quality bonding agent to put things together right and an even better one to fix anything that broke". I think the world need barrels of that now, actually, supertankers filled with the magic glue. 

Nothing in Common

Unless you happen to want to put a live infant in an oven and crank the broiler on, or chop babies' heads off, you have different values than Hamas. If you want to visit these horrors on innocent people, then by all means continue your genocidal chant of "from the river to the sea". If you are decent and do not endorse the eradication of the Jewish People, then please stand with Israel. The IDF is not just fighting for Israel but for the free world. 

Our Shared Values

The only country in the Middle East that reflects democratic principles and American values is Israel. Israel is not an Apartheid state. Israel is not a colonial enterprise. It is a tiny beacon of Western values in an otherwise dark region dominated by fanaticism and tyranny. Also, Israel is the front line in the war against terror. If the Jewish State does not defeat the terrorists there, those jihadists will strike across the West including in the United States. When the United States backs Israel, we are protecting ourselves by keeping malign forces there before they can hit our homeland. 

Most Grim Prognosis

The Biden regime does NOT want Israel to achieve victory. In fact, the Washington cabal imperils the very existence of the Jewish State. The aim of the current US administration is to make Benjamin Netanyahu accept such humiliating terms that it destroys his viability. Bibi's fate is of little consequence when measured against the survival of the Jewish People, but Team Biden is threatening that as well. Were it only a wounded Prime Minister, that could be surmounted, but to impose a two-state solution now with Israel reeling, and the unified goal of the Palestinians remaining the elimination of the Jewish State, at once if possible but in stages if necessary, this is the worst possible time for the United States to betray its only real ally in the Middle East in the way Biden is doing.

I was too young to vote when Jimmy Carter was President but still remember the devastation he unleashed on America and the world. I thought there could never be a worse President in my lifetime. Was I ever wrong! Joe Biden has outdone Carter to take the ignominious title of worst President by far. 

Welcome to Arizona

I read that in the just ended twenty-eight day monitoring period, fifty-eight thousand illegal aliens swarmed into one Arizona border sector. It would make sense if many were from adjacent Mexico, but shockingly, many were from China, the Middle East, and Africa. You can't walk or even drive to Northern Mexico from any of those distant places. Most of the border breakers were from further South in the Americas, and very few were in fact Mexican. What is going on is an organized effort to undermine the United States through invasion.  

Playing It Safe

Qatar demanded and received assurances that Israel will not target Hamas terrorists in the oil-rich state. So while jihadists in Gaza are being wiped out and Gazans languish is squalor worsened by the war Hamas started, the massacre masterminds will continue feasting in mansions and palaces and sleeping in the lavish lap of luxury, using the funds they have misdirected that were supposed to be used to better the lives of the Gaza Palestinians. For genocidal Jew-haters, it is nice to be in Qatar. 

Why Praise Hamas?

Some have actually praised the terror group that is holding hostages for releasing some of them. Do you credit a fellow for pulling the knife out after he stabs you in the back? Hamas is the opposite of a humanitarian organization. 

Almost Nobody Cares

Israel, some Jews beyond the Holy Land, and Christian Zionists have reached out to help the hundreds of thousands of internally displaced Israelis from both the South and North. Most of the world though is not even aware that a huge swathe of Israel's relatively small population has been swept up in the war, and because they reside near or in the areas that fighting has or is taking place, have been forced to relocate. They have generally gone from the areas abutting not only Gaza but also Lebanon, and into central Israel. This is an enormous burden for a tiny state already under attack, and all aid is appreciated, but the United Nations, other world bodies, and most non-governmental organizations are expressing concern for the humanitarian crisis, but only the side of it that is not Israeli. 

Skywriting Ceasefire Vanishing

The Jewish State is always held by the entire rest of the world to abide by its agreements, even when the other side does not. Israel was explicit that the hostages it receives must be in good health. The intermediaries of Qatar assured the captives returned will be in "good condition". It is reported that after Qatar made these representations, Qatari officials leaked to the press that those returned to Israel would not necessarily "be alive". Can you imagine this mendacity? Why should Israel tolerate it? 

Writing on Wall

Jews are going to be blamed for Joe Biden's looming political misfortune. It will be said that Biden's support for Israel cost him young voters, notwithstanding that the support was conditional and lukewarm at best as surveys show America's youth actually support the Palestinian cause (which can be read as welcoming the ethnic cleansing of Jews from the Holy Land). Jews will increasingly have their clout diminished within the DemocRAT Party as their few votes will no longer be viewed as helping secure Democrat victories but as preventing them as allegiance with Israel on the Left will be seen as an albatross around the Party's neck. Jews have traditionally voted DemocRAT at rates over seventy percent but with America's Jewish population stagnating and the Muslim population surging, it is in the cards that the DemocRAT Party will abandon their commitment to Israel, as justice of cause means nothing to them, but vote counting everything. 

A Safer Community

A street racer was killed when he wrecked the car he was driving (that was reportedly stolen) and two guns were found in the vehicle. These criminals are incredibly dangerous. Separately, when the police tried to detain one of the mob who were racing in Nashville this Saturday, where three generations of my family were held against our will for more than thirty minutes in a "street takeover", he fired a shot at them, before they were able to take him into custody. If a felon is willing to shoot police, he would shoot anybody. Tennessee used to be a relatively safe place, but increasingly seems less so. 

An Arrest Made

With at least dozens of young thugs perpetrating "street takeovers" in Nashville, and three generations of my family being caught in one of these dangerous events, I heard on WLAC this morning that our intrepid Metro police had made one arrest. One of the young hoodlums, a nineteen year old, was detained on Donelson Pike. He had been in the vehicle with three others, and fired a shot at police. If these fools will try to shoot law enforcement, who they know can shoot back, think what they would do to average folks, who likely lack a firearm to defend themselves with and who certainly do not have the extensive training cops do. I think the way to end these burnouts and street racing would be to confiscate the vehicles of those involved. 

Anarchy in America!

I am a fifty-seven year old lifelong Nashvillian, whose grandfather held a constable's license. Tennessee was always a law and order kind of state. Last night I was swept up in something I did not think was possible here in my hometown. I had picked my eight year old daughter up in Louisville earlier in the day and made it back into Davidson County around ten p.m. My eighty-one year old mother was riding with us. We were still on I-65 at about 10:15 near the 440 split, when a half dozen muscle cars raced past at over one hundred miles per hour, and I heard a shot, that my little girl thought was a backfire (I have been around guns a half century and know what the report of a firearm when discharged distinct from a backfire). We arrived at the Robertson Road/ White Bridge exit near our home and pulled up the light, only to find the path blocked by at least dozens, if not into the low hundreds, of young hooligans who were doing burnouts in the intersection or witnessing and filming the spectacle as "entertainment" on their cellphones. Several of the young Hispanic boys were displaying high-capacity weapons, including extended magazine Glocks and what looked like an Uzi or Ingram two cars and one lane away from my family. Further away in the mob, other boys actually were firing guns into the air or separately, the ground, and others were setting off fireworks. This mob action backed up several lanes of traffic hundreds of yards down onto the highway and could easily have caused a chain reaction crash. The bullets fired into the air came down someplace and could have killed people, as could the ricochets. We were in fear of our lives, and my Mom dialed 911. The throng was deliberately holding people against their will by blocking traffic and jeopardizing the safety of the community. After we were trapped there at least fifteen minutes, but within five minutes of calling the emergency number, a lone police car pulled up Robertson approaching the crowd, but then did a U-turn and proceeded back toward Charlotte Pike and White Bridge Road. We were finally able to maneuver into the farthest lane after being held at the intersection against our will by armed thugs for over twenty minutes. Innocent people might well have died and the first officer to arrive apparently abandoned vulnerable citizens to a criminal mob. I am sickened by what my city has become and my family was terrified with a crying child and shocked cancer survivor being victimized through no fault of our own. 

Osama the Hero?

Morons- young empty-headed TikTok users- fell in love with an arch-terrorist. Osama bin Laden was a psychopath and conscienceless mass murderer. He was born into great wealth and privilege and decided to use that to go slaughter "infidels", first in Afghanistan and then, around the world, but not just infidels but those also Muslims who did not agree with his blood lust. Osama even lied to some of his September 11 henchman, who were not told that the terror attack was a suicide mission. Only the "pilots" were told the would be flying into buildings, they were instructed to lie to their confederates and tell them they were hijacking and hostage taking but not being used as kamikaze. I presume Osama bin Laden is with Hitler in Hades, and hope the youngsters realize that supporting bin Laden is no different than rooting for Adolf!  

China's Double Game

If Joe Biden was not already bought and paid for by Red China, you might think Beijing was being duplicitous with America. During the current summit, the Communist leadership pretends it is being nice to America, while at the same time using one of its propaganda arms TikTok to subvert and undermine the youth of the United States. In fact, even as APEC was taking place, the Reds were using their social media reach to amplify the murderous message of Osama bin Laden. With friends like China, you don't have friends but a mortal enemy that will stab you in the front and back. 

Friends to All

9/11 and 7/7 used to be mere days of the year but are now tainted with horror and fear. Beslan and Bataclan- leave those kids alone man. It was not Quakers who brought forth these atrocities. Why is it that almost all major terror attacks spring from one so-called "religion"? 

Define Jew Hater

I happen to be Jewish. I read stories across the Web and sometimes scroll to the Comments Section. Almost invariably if it is a story that is negative about business, the economy, or finance, some of those commenting will not focus on the story itself, but on how everything bad happening is a result of Jewish manipulation. You see to them Jews are the dark hand behind everything that goes wrong. The same virus permeates stories about migration and crime, that Jews are guilty on those counts as well. Do you really think Jewish folks in Europe or America really wanted millions of Muslim aliens welcomed in, particularly as we all see the broad hatred for Jews that those foreigners bring with them wherever they enter? As far as crime goes, yes I will acknowledge that in America a nominal Jew, George Soros has worked mightily to weaken criminal enforcement, but Soros has alienated Jewish folks as much as any other group suffering under the growing crime wave. If a person sees Jews as the cause of his problems, it is certainty that individual is a Jew hater.  

A Fading Nation

America was the storehouse of liberty, arsenal of democracy, and lone superpower. Under the dementia patient serving as figurehead of the cabal, Middle Eastern leaders other than Israel's did not think it was necessary to even meet with Biden. Red China's leader will come to engage with faded and corrupt Joe, but the Chinese strongman is not here to listen, but to dictate to someone China has bought and paid for, not leader to leader but boss to servant. Do you think for a second that Biden is going to demand anything of Beijing? If Joe did, is there a chance the Communists would comply or just laugh at him? Powerful nations have potent leaders. Do you believe the United States is at an apex with a forceful leader taking us to a better future? 

The "Peaceful" Protests

Has anyone else noticed that no matter where the terror enthusiasts are protesting, almost none are bearing flags of their host nations? In fact, they can readily be witnessed ripping down Old Glory in America and the Union Jack in the United Kingdom. So are these rioters really pro-Palestinian or just against everyone who does not agree with destroying the Jewish State and killing Jews throughout the world? 

The Deep Bench

Kamala Harris is a giggling buffoon who could not win a single state in a Presidential election. Gavin Newsom is an American Justin Trudeau, an empty-suit pretty boy who might just win, but in that event, would only further harm our country. Michelle Obama is one dangerous individual, a white-hating hypocritical Marxist who enjoys the benefit of questionably earned millions while pretending to be down for the struggle. She hates our Founding and us white folks enough that if granted power, Michelle would finish the America we have always known off in a single term. The best bet of those bad bets for the American People would be Newsom, who is lousy on his best day, and has driven the productive out of California in favor of the border breaking parasites he, the Federal government, and NGOs are paying to be there and giving free healthcare to (read as healthcare that America's taxpayers are being forced to pay for in favor of aliens who have never contributed to the system or nation). Then, the DemocRATS could always steal another term for Biden, who doesn't even know what day it is, and couldn't actually run a convenience store at this point, much less a country.

Ten people calling a teacup dog a horse does not make it so. One hundred folks saying this does not make it true. Neither would one thousand or a million or virtually every person on earth. I do not care if millions of demonstrators in Jakarta, Karachi, and London march for eradicating Jewry; we are right and have sufficient might to resist those who try to destroy us. Am Yisrael Chai!

Our Fickle Friends

The only aspect of the relationship that America has with Israel that is essential for the survival of the Jewish State is America's veto power at the United Nations. Other than that, Israel will do for itself. It is tremendously offensive for Jews and Israelis to hear that the US is holding back the IDF from committing "war crimes", when we know it is our Jewish morality and ethics that have always done and continue to do that. Israel does not need Biden regime admonitions, particularly after US forces blew up an innocent family in Afghanistan after the airport bombing in Kabul wherein Joe's spokespeople said the US had eliminated the bombing mastermind when in fact, America blew up thirteen totally innocent Afghans, including at least nine children under the age of sixteen. Did the Biden team condemn itself for this outrage? Team Biden has insisted Israeli civilians not be issued guns, even though it was over one thousand of these civilians who were massacred on October 7. Do positions like these that the US is taking seem like a warm and abiding partnership between friends? Is Israel an ally in the struggle against aggressive Islamist expansionism accomplished through jihad or is Israel a minor appendage of America with DC not really concerned about the survival of the people there or really Jews anywhere? 

Gauging the Response

I, as a Jew, am watching massive protests around the world, all on behalf of the murderous jihadists bent on destroying the Jewish State (and Jews ourselves). A Jew was struck with a megaphone and ended up dying, not in Dagestan but in California, yet nobody has been charged for causing his death. A Jew who was beaten by a mob in Illinois managed to pull a gun and fire a warning shot, and he WAS CHARGED. Jews are not being protected by authorities around the world, even in the US, and it is the Jews who are being arrested when they are forced to try to defend themselves. This is easily the most dangerous time for Jews since the end of Hitler. Nobody can be relied upon to protect the Jewish People but Jews, because clearly no party is interested in defending Jewish rights and lives beyond ourselves.  

Hearts and Minds

The DemocRATS in Ohio played it shrewd. They and their moneyed backers saw to it that two measures appeared on the same ballot. One was to bring out brains already corrupted by cannabis with the legalization of marijuana being brought up for a vote. The other vote was for slaughtering the pre-born. So the promiscuous and irresponsible, and the drug-addled came out in droves in an endorsement of their own dissipated and immoral lifestyle.  Corruption prevails when haters of humanity and order like George Soros pour a fortune in promoting it while our better angels seem to have no payroll. Where is the right-thinking conservative billionaire out there countering Soros? 

Must Be Smart

Supporters of Israel must not hide and allow the more numerous supporters of "Palestine" to take up all the proverbial oxygen. Then again, it makes little sense to go out and expose oneself to great danger from off-the-handle, unhinged, violent fanatics who want to genocide Jews. In many places, those who try to advocate for Israel have been arrested, supposedly for their own protection, but a right is not one without affirmative application. I know hiding is not the answer for supporters of Israel but am also aware that foolishly exposing yourself to unnecessary risks will not help our cause. May the memory of the murdered Paul Kessler be a blessing, and may his murderer face justice! 

In the Tunnels

A great place to put civilians you do not want hurt in a bombing would be a hundred foot deep fortified tunnel. How many Palestinian civilians has Hamas invited down there? How many Palestinian children are being sheltered by Hamas in their underground fortress? Oh, that is right, Hamas says it is the responsibility of Israel and the international community to protect the innocent people their actions placed at risk and is not allowing ANY into the Gaza labyrinth, because that sanctuary is only for fighters and their weapons (and unmentioned but quite probably, Israeli hostages). 

Just the Facts

The massive worldwide protests are not for a "free Palestine". The people of Gaza are NOT free but suffer under a Hamas tyranny, and if their side somehow wins, that darkness will extend over what had been Israel that will be an area completely liquidated of Jews not willing to be dhimmi (meaning the only surviving Jews would be the Naturei Karta type self-hating, anti-Zionist Jews). If you want anyone to enjoy liberty and human rights in the Middle East, you better be supporting Israel in this fight, where those who practice every religion or none have equal rights in the eyes of the (Jewish) State. 

Absolute Moral Imbeciles

Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad are still firing rockets, missiles, and mortars into Israel at every opportunity. These projectiles are aimed to murder Jewish civilians and would have murdered many thousands over the years had the IDF not deployed Iron Dome. I read many of what I now must consider former friends on social media wailing and crying for "poor Palestinians". You know the folks that handed out candy to celebrate the massacre of over 1,400 Jews a few weeks back when they ever so briefly held the whip hand. Those nice people who spat on the defiled and desecrated corpses of Jewish young women who were raped to death for the crime of attending a music and peace festival. There are purported to be thirty thousand Hamas gunmen that "rule" Gaza, which the Palestinians themselves characterize as "the most densely populated place of earth". If the Palestinians did not want Hamas representing them, do you not think two million people could have overcome 30,000? Almost no Palestinians denounce the atrocities of Hamas. When do you hear Palestinians condemning the murder of innocents and shouting "not in our name"? To my classmates that now castigate the Jewish State: You should be praising and supporting Israel as your front line ally doing the fighting there against terror to prevent the next September 11 and the violence hitting home to you. If it were your wife or daughter who was raped with such savage ferocity that her pelvic bones were smashed as if she had been ht by a car, would you care if those who cheered her being raped to death and who willingly serve as human shields for the rapists suffer for what they have brought on themselves? 

Deny Jews Guns

The Biden administration is adamant that the government of Israel should not permit Jewish civilians to have firearms. The American regime would rather have Israelis at the mercy of death cult terrorists than able to protect their families. In light of this, Jews should never support DemocRATS again. 

Point Well Taken

Some have voiced the opinion that if Trump were still President, the world would not be so chaotic now. This is quite possibly true, but also moot. If I had four legs, a trunk, and weighed ten tons, I would be a bull elephant. Trump is out of office and might be on his way to prison, and I am a short, fat dude but vastly smaller than any pachyderm. It may be a comfort to pretend but solves nothing.  

Something to Ponder

If a known murderer was shooting at your family while hiding behind a stranger's children, and you happened to have a gun, would you shoot back? This is Israel's situation right now as Hamas hides behind Palestinian kids to use as human shields while murdering Jewish babies. The IDF will certainly try to hit only the gunmen, but Hamas deliberately makes that impossible. All the innocent blood is solely on the terrorists' hands. 

Entirely on Hamas

If Hamas had not attacked Israel, there would have been no IDF response in Gaza. If Hamas had allowed Palestinians to follow Israel's instructions to leave, there would be no Palestinian noncombatant casualties. Every civilian death in this conflict must be laid at the feet of Hamas.    

Another Russian Pogrom

Jews were being hunted in Dagestan last night. A commercial jet had departed from Tel Aviv and touched down in that heavily Muslim area of the former Soviet Union. The local populace attacked the airport and a hotel looking for Jews to attack. At least two people were reported to have been critically injured. This particular pogrom did not happen in 1895 or the Holocaust but is ongoing as Jews who have nothing to do with Israel or Gaza are sought out for murder. As a Jew, I must warn that we should at the moment stay within our own enclaves and arm ourselves to protect our lives wherever it is legal to do so, and consider leaving in any of the places where we are not permitted the means of self-protection for localities where we may bear arms. We can't rely on those who may not have our best interests at heart for our security. 

So Very "Offensive"

Israel has gone on the offensive. The IDF is trying to rescue hostages and bring terrorists to justice (or justice to  terrorists). Around the world many millions rally not for the Israeli forces of civilization and decency but in support of the bloody handed butchers of Hamas. That is what is really offensive. 

Israel Solely Responsible!

I agree with many that Israel is "responsible".  Israel is responsible for safeguarding the Jewish State. Israel is responsible for restoring and guarding Israel's borders. Israel is responsible for eliminating the butchers who slaughtered innocent Jews and even beheaded babies. Israel is responsible for stopping the barrage of rockets and missiles from not just Gaza but also Lebanon. Israel is responsible for defending civilization from the attacks of atavistic savages. 

A Glaring Insult

Why do world leaders outside of Israel feel compelled to demand Israeli "restraint"? Did they make similar demands of Hamas? Israel has not deliberately targeted Palestinian civilians? Can the same be said of the Palestinian resistance (whose primary target has always been Jewish civilians)? Israel is warned, even by the US, not to commit "war crimes" The IDF is the entity that is stopping an enemy that commits nothing but war crimes and crimes against humanity. Instead of calling out Israel for trying to preserve innocent life, how about calling out the monsters who have the world's most extensive concentration of fortified tunnels but will not permit their civilians in them as the underground fortress is solely to protect the terrorists and their munitions, while their women and children are kept above ground to serve as cannon fodder, so the savages can show carnage they caused but say "look at what these evil Jews did". 

Holding Israel Back

Israel, to ensure the survival of the Jewish State, must eradicate Hamas. Tragically, the elimination of Hamas must be the sole focus of the IDF, who can't concern themselves with the survival of the hostages. Those abducted face a horrible fate because of the butchers of Hamas, not because of the actions Israel must take. To permit the survival of Hamas means Jews wear a target in the Jewish homeland until the Jews are annihilated, which is intolerable. Netanyahu must do what is necessary to restore deterrence, or Jews everywhere will face the horrid fate of those that lived on the periphery of Gaza.

Does anyone actually believe Joe Biden is at the top of his game? Do you think Biden is hands-on, really running anything? If he is not (and only an idiot would contend Biden is still making vital decisions and in charge of relations with other countries and our security), who is? The US House of Representatives are not able to advance legislation. In fact, they are so screwed up that they cannot name a Speaker. In our current time of crisis, this is no joke but a great danger.

The time has come to see if "Never Again" really had any meaning. It certainly does not appear that it did as Muslims wave the flag of jihad in the same European capitals that sent their Jews to death camps eighty years ago, while those that stand to oppose genocide against the Jews are threatened with arrest for breach of peace. Talk about a tragic irony- the son of Nashville's chief of police is wanted for shooting two police officers in a community near Nashville. Nobody doubts that Chief John Drake has been absolutely dedicated to protecting our community, and what sorrow he must be experiencing seeing his adult son on the wrong side of the law. Let us all pray that the bad seed surrenders without further incident and both wounded officers fully recover. 

No Moral Compass

Israel has a blade at its proverbial throat. So long as Hamas remains extant in Gaza, everyone in Israel is at risk. The Hollywood "stars" demanding "cease fire now" are either imbeciles or evil, or perhaps both. The jihadists tortured infants in front of their parents and then killed them all, often severing their heads. These terrorists fatally raped women with such inhuman ferocity that these girls and women's corpses were found with their pelvises broken. Some of the celebrities insisting Israel stop their self-defense are Jewish. I should say "nominally Jewish", because only a Jew who loathes his or her own people could not see that the murderers who struck the Jewish State would gladly kill them too. Hamas slaughtered men, women, and children, Jews, Christians, and fellow Muslims. Hamas is a deadly scourge that must be eradicated.

It was reported that before the butchery, the Hamas terrorists were administered a cheap form of amphetamines. They were not simply fanatics but drugged up as well. 

Why the Hatred?

If a Jewish person has offended you, that is on that individual, not on the faith of fifteen million people. Anytime I hear "the blacks" or "the Mexicans", I know it is coming from a hater. Take folks as individuals, not as representative of a whole group they belong to; otherwise you just fall into "the bigots". 

New Blood Libel

Jews NEVER used the blood of Gentiles, children nor adults, to bake unleavened bread. Jews did not sacrifice Christian children in rituals. Jews are not bloodthirsty ghouls. It is completely predictable that those who want to slaughter every Jew on earth would blame their own mistake on those they hate the most and use that as a further rationale to murder innocent people. The IDF did NOT deliberately target a Gaza hospital. More than that though, the Jews did not accidentally hit it either. One of the terrorists own rockets fell short of its goal of killing innocent Jewish civilians and took out their own hospital instead. Those who hate Jews so much that they wish to slaughter Jewish babies really needed no excuse to wage their jihad, so they will still, always. and only blame Jews even when the carnage is entirely and solely the responsibility of the Islamo-fascists. 

On Israel's Restraint

Israel has held back on a ground invasion of Gaza. This is not a tactical or strategic decision by the IDF. Israel has not done what needs to be done to remove the threat of Hamas because the Biden regime is holding it back. While paying lip service to Israel's right to protect itself,  implicit pressure is being brought to bear on Netanyahu that the US will not block anti-Israel resolutions at the United Nations that America has provided for the Jewish State except at the end of Obama's last term. This may be unstated but is no less real. It is only the US veto at the UN that keeps Israel within the community of nations and from being sanctioned out of existence or even attacked by the blue helmets themselves. In an evil world, a virtuous state finds itself isolated, even as it is under the guns of Hamas. Also, the Biden regime that was backing and even helping pay for and orchestrate the anti-judicial reform protests (that are really aimed at removing the Prime Minister) holds the card over Netanyahu that even with Israel under the gun, they may crank up the domestic opposition again even in the face of the existential threat that now confronts Israel. The Jewish State is not holding back but being restrained by what is Israel's supposed greatest friend. The cabal that installed Biden has tied Israel's hands. 

Your Holy Warriors?

The Palestinian mujahideen raped and tortured women and even babies. They are about as holy as pig feces. Eighty percent of the Israelis they murdered showed signs of torture. When the IDF finds them, and they will, these barbarians will answer for their heinous crimes. 

Not About Revenge

Hamas is still firing rockets and missiles into Israel. They are holding over one hundred (hopefully alive) Israelis hostage, including infants, after having deliberately butchered other Jewish babies, though at that age, the children certainly did not know they were Jewish. The IDF is not seeking retribution, but safety for the people of Israel.

The novelty is starting to wear off the Deion Sanders coached Colorado football team. Yes, he brought some excitement to Boulder, but he is not a exceptional strategist or innovator who is reinventing the wheel. He has some celebrity connections that enhanced the limelight around an average football program, but there has to be substance to accompany flash. 

Who Is Accountable?

Nobody within Israel's intelligence services anticipated the scale of the attack on the Jewish State. Raw intelligence is by its nature opaque. Those tasked with analyzing what is coming in seldom see the whole picture because of specialization and volume of incoming material, such as signals intelligence that is now often heavily encrypted and very difficult to decode, even using supercomputers and AI (both of which Israel at this point has extremely limited access to, especially when contrasted with the United States). Then there is imagery intelligence which might have revealed clues to what was in the offing as well, which the Jewish State lags in when contrasted with nations with larger satellite programs as well. Israeli drones were monitoring, but we see Hamas employed drones as well. Finally, human intelligence failed in one aspect because Hamas had been so ruthless in executing anyone who might be working for Israel that those who might have credibly warned Israel in earlier times were terrified to inform despite Israel generously paying those who would sell out their own side to help protect the Jewish State. So should blame be laid at the top? Due to compartmentalization, no Israeli intelligence official was able to grasp the whole picture. The pieces they were seeing did not move them to pass information up to the Prime Minister, who has NEVER dismissed or underestimated the threat. Netanyahu is not an intelligence analyst who might have missed a clue in raw intelligence. He could only work with what he was given by professionals upon whom he is forced to rely. Tragically, even some of those were actively seeking to undermine their own leader, because they are in the thrall of the Left and/or because of personal ambitions. It is inconceivable that even they saw the invasion about to come and deliberately obscured that knowledge from Bibi, but with other agendas in their heads, they may have taken their eye off the ball of protecting Israel. I do not know what Netanyahu could have done that he did not, as even though he has had recent health challenges, he has always taken the security of the Jewish State and People as his top priority. 

About Intelligence Services

I claim no thorough-going or comprehensive knowledge of what spies do, nor am I one of them, but I do possess logic, which in the case of the attack unleashed on Israel should be enough. I am aware after years of reading open source intelligence, through the recently closed Debka.co.il, Janes online, and Stratfor that I am more well-versed than some on the subject. Two facts I know are that Egypt since Sadat made peace has warned Israel numerous times that they have wind that a terror attack is imminent, just as Israel has warned Egypt, but (thankfully) most of the warnings have turned out to be false alarms. which naturally created a sense of complacency. The information shared between the countries is investigated but in this case, the Israeli scrutiny of what was revealed was obviously insufficient, which happens when two sides with a cold peace do not trust each other,, and in some instances, it is very likely sent red herrings to annoy, distract, and consume the resources of a side they did not perceive as allies. If you cry wolf a thousand times but no wolf is there, it is natural to assume the wolf will never appear. Also, Israel is led by a center-right Prime Minister but her intelligence agencies have been largely subsumed by Leftists, who were thinking ridding Israel of Netanyahu's leadership was an essential element of protecting the Jewish State. Many agents were devoting energy to blocking judicial reform (which really meant they were opposing their own nation's leader), rather that having a monomania aimed at blocking the next terror outrage directed against Jews. They failed to grasp the potential magnitude of what was coming and did come. This is not to absolve Netanyahu of blame, as he always had the military resources to preempt violence started by Gazans, but lacked the will to use it. He was too concerned with international recriminations to protect the Jewish People, and that lies solely on him. Would Israel have been sanctioned and condemned by countries that despise it anyway, had Netanyahu launched preemptive action? Certainly, but it is likely that more than one thousand Jews who were murdered in the most heinous ways would still be alive today had Netanyahu not underestimated the enemy and been complacent that the mere presence of King Bibi would be enough to thwart those who seek genocide. 

Not Hiding Intentions

In Sydney, Australia, the supporters of Hamas shouted "Gas the Jews". In New York, a jihad backer was holding up her cell phone displaying a Swastika during a rally praising the massacre and calling for more. These Jew haters do not want a land of their own called "Palestine". They want to murder every Jewish man, woman, and child in the world, even babies. Believe what these monsters say. They mean it. 

The Good Guys?

I guarantee you the moral and righteous side is not committing mass rape and beheading children. That evil side has attacked a civilian populace and has run back into Gaza to hide behind Palestinian children, who are every bit as much hostages as the Jews dragged into Gaza. We, the Chosen

The Jewish People entered into a Covenant with G-d. We follow religious Laws that are difficult and set us apart from the rest of humanity. Two State Delusion

Those with power within the so-called Palestinian community do not particularly want their own state. What they want fervently is the eradication of World Jewry. Israel has always had the military strength to utterly obliterate the terrorists operating in Gaza. The IDF restrained itself, even after murderous outrages were visited upon the Jewish People. Jews use "measured and proportional responses" to demonstrate our moral superiority to those who want to slaughter us all. We held up the banner of "purity of arms" while Jewish boys had their heads bashed in while exploring a cave, by Neanderthals posing as contemporary humans. We watched candy being handed out by Arabs to celebrate attacks on innocent Jewish civilians. We witnessed the "civilians" of Gaza willingly serve as human shields to those firing rockets at Israeli kindergartens and cheering as hospitals, schools, and UN facilities were converted to launching pads for attacks against Israel. The people of Gaza did not rally en masse to protest terrorists turning their lands and homes into a fire bases used to indiscriminately target the Israeli People. In fact, they are a rooting section for war crimes aimed at finishing the job Hitler started. There is no way to sugar-coat this: The Middle East does not have Arafat's "Peace of the Braves" (sic), but a smoldering cauldron of genocidal Jew hatred that has actually been stoked by Israel's military holding back, when it had every reason and opportunity to destroy the terrorists but did not. This weakness was the cause of the massacres of Jewish women and children today. A firm resolve to crush terror in Gaza must be demonstrated by Israel, and the counteroffensive now must not be concluded until every terrorist there is liquidated.

People with no capacity for critical thought who do no know who Mark Steyn and Roy Spencer are, may even think man-caused climate change is about to destroy us all.

If Mar-a-Lago is only worth eighteen million dollars then Biden really has whipped inflation! If the former statement is true, then gasoline will soon be twenty cents per gallon. 

No Major Difference

Kevin McCarthy was about as much a rubber stamp for the Biden agenda as Nancy Pelosi. Had Trump been President with Republicans in control of the House, they likely would have done all they could to thwart him just as Paul Ryan did, but with the other party in the White House, they put up little resistance. If a Republican Congress throttles their own President but smooths the path for the President from the opposition, why bother to fight so hard to secure a majority in the US House? On the other hand, if there is a Republican President and a DemocRAT House, everything the GOP President wants is dead on arrival.

It is with Republicans that you do not know what you are buying into, because outside of a few, the Washington GOP will not stand with Trump, or much more importantly, the American People. The party of Biden sticks together like glue to advance un-American socialism. Sadly, as we have just seen with the Continuing Resolution to fund the government for forty-five days, many Republicans will do nothing to slow the slide of America. They will gladly obstruct Trump if he somehow regains the Presidency (like Paul Ryan during the initial Trump term) but will never put the brakes on crooked old Joe. 

A Titan Game

I have attended the last two home games of the Tennessee pro football team, and they won both. Maybe I bring them luck! 

Their "Green" Strategy

Those leaders pushing the environmental agenda are not doing it to save the planet or help the people but to feather their own nests. They are forcing an end to clean-burning natural gas water heaters that actually deliver hot showers when you want them. It is not because these household essentials have not been working, are inefficient, or have harmed earth. They are insisting on the replacements because they or their cronies are making the so-called "clean" new technology, that is no cleaner and often is made entirely with or with components from Red China, the country damaging the planet the most, the one that is the enemy of America, and the one that uses slave (prisoner labor) to make virtually everything. Yes, the scheme is a "green" one- green as in billions of US dollars- to supplant a real market-driven economy with a phony one that will benefit those forcing it on a public that does not want it like modern day emperors, who steal your choices to grab your wealth. 

Engine of Prosperity

For America, the internal combustion engine is the literal driver of our everyday lives and prosperity. The United States is not tiny Belgium or relatively small Britain. We are a massive nation that takes up huge parts of a large continent. Alaska alone is over twice as large as France (and electric vehicle batteries do not hold charges in cold weather like our forty-ninth state experiences most of the year). Your Tesla is fine for a run to the grocery two miles away and adequate for the two hour daily commute between your home and work then back at the end of your labors, but completely unsuited to drive from Maine to San Diego, unless you have an extra month to spare for all your two hour at a time recharging breaks, as opposed to the five minutes it takes to fuel up at the gas station. Not to mention, that there are many thousands of US gasoline pumps, everywhere from convenience stores to massive wholesale clubs, but so far, only a few thousand readily accessible charging stations, and even those are often inaccessible to electric vehicle owners because someone arrived there first and needs two hours on the plug to ensure they make it to the next charging station. Also, in many places, that electricity is anything but "green energy" and the battery in your electric car has slave labor all over it in the process of harvesting rare earth minerals to make it and Uyghur prisoner labor used to assemble it. Your "clean energy" turns out to be pretty dirty after all. Finally, the elite want your freedom of movement restricted, so that they don't have to share the road with you and can take their gas guzzling SUVs and limousines wherever they want without worrying about being stuck in traffic behind common folk like me. 

Not Leaving Crimea

I can envision no circumstances where Russia leaves or is expelled from Crimea. If Zelenskyy insists this expulsion is the objective of the Ukraine, it will never be realized. The West must not tie itself to this pie in the sky goal.  

Perhaps Offering Terms

It has been reported that Russia may be offering the Ukraine a way out of the slaughter, and that the offer is NOT unconditional surrender. This, if true, could mean the bloodbath is nearing an end, except that Zelenskyy still has maximalist notions that his depleted forces can fully evict Russians from what he considers Ukrainian territory. He can't, anymore than Putin could subdue all resistance within the Ukraine short of killing everyone and everything there with nuclear weapons. You don't make peace with friends (because you don't have to), but sometimes you must compromise with enemies simply to survive. 

Depends on Definition

The forces of the Ukraine still could win, if we consider victory not permitting Putin total conquest. The problem is that after the unnecessary and ill-considered offensive that Ukrainian forces undertook under Western pressure, they have lost half of their professional soldiers with their most elite units (with the exception of Zelenskyy's personal security detail) the hardest hit. It will now be a close run thing to see if Kyiv has sufficient forces left to retain the territory it is now in control of because fresh, minimally-trained conscripts are no substitute for experienced combat veterans. 

Not in Cards

I believe the goal of the leadership of the Ukraine at the onset of the Russian aggression was simply not to be conquered entirely. This Ukrainian objective was obtainable and worthy. Then pressure from the West that was tiring of donating so much money came for the outnumbered and outgunned forces of Kyiv to go on the offensive. When Zelenskyy had secured relatively defensible lines and could declare a stalemate with Russia a "win", the United States and other so-called allies insisted Ukraine attack. Victory over Putin had previously been considered maintaining territory and not allowing the entire nation to fall to Russian forces, which Ukrainian heroism had accomplished, but to move forward assaulting superior forces in prepared positions that were and are ultimately backed by the largest nuclear arsenal on earth was foolhardy and self-defeating. Ukraine had squandered so many men in the process that now they may not have enough forces left to thwart a Russian counteroffensive. The Ukrainians should not have bent to Western coercion to launch what turned out to be suicide attacks. They of course wanted all of what they perceived as Ukrainian territory liberated but never had the military capacity to beat stronger forces back, and by succumbing to America and anti-Russian backers aligned with Biden, they have made an outright loss by the Ukraine much more likely. 

Not Another Dollar

Ukraine is awash with foreign aid and a little of it is actually reaching the troops trying to hold off the Russians. Until audits are completed to ferret out the corruption (which is massive), I would say America should not send Zelenskyy another cent. 

Maybe the Solution

Perhaps, the way forward for America would be to replace the Republican Party with a MAGA one composed of genuine America First patriots. Populism is the better alternative when the other path is Communism.  There are several dozen Representatives who are genuinely conservative and stick to the Founding Principles that made us great. There might be as many as twenty Senators willing to tow the same line. If we can't primary the weak-kneed and unprincipled from our midst, start over with this base of courageous politicians who will put America right in short order with Trump at the helm. 

Not Defunding Anything

The Republican-controlled US House of Representatives will ultimately continue to fund the Federal prosecutors persecuting Donald Trump. These same Republicans will not force a more secure Southern border through the budget process. They will probably make some token reductions in the rate of growth in some unimportant programs that Biden will pretend to be annoyed about. but Joe will sign the Continuing Resolution that emerges, that will make Americans less safe, less free, and grow the deficit while continuing to stimulate inflation. With Republicans like Kevin McCarthy, who needs DemocRATS? 

The Marxists Embrace

Two socialists misleading their own people just glad-handed to show off their phony commitment to "Workers' Rights".  One of these leaders had already been jailed in the past and both deserve to be in the future. Lula is turning Brazil into a giant version of Cuba, and Biden has abandoned the Southern border of the US to a wage-lowering horde. They care about the folks just the way Mao did in Red China. 

All Candidates Flawed

If you are seeking perfect person to represent you, that ideal candidate will never appear. Most office seekers have enormous egos. Many lead flawed personal lives. Does Trump sometimes exaggerate? Sure, and Biden tells outlandish falsehoods. They both have feet of clay, but that type of individual is who usually runs. Good luck finding your flawless leader. Jesus will never be on the ballot for America's President.

Billionaires Need Subsidies?

Elon Musk has done unbelievably well for himself. Many of his early successes were enhanced by the US government subsidizing several of his efforts, including his electric cars. Musk is brilliant and did not really require the help of working people who have never been able to afford a Tesla to bring them to the market. The same unnecessary welfare to the wealthy is provided to billionaire team owners to keep teams in a particular town or give them an incentive to move to another city, thereby imposing an expense on those who will never be able to afford to attend a game to pay for the facility in which the games are played and maybe even the moving expenses of the team as it changes host cities. This burden imposed on the poor to fund the rich is a moral obscenity. 

First Pro Game

I had a friend invite me to a professional football game yesterday. I had never attended before, not because I do not like football, but because I believed the folks in my hometown of Nashville were exploited by the team ownership and our own mayor and council when the team moved here from Texas by way of Memphis and Nashvillians found themselves paying for the Titan stadium right out of our water bills. More recently, I tuned out pro sports more generally because I hated their promotion of the BLM movement and the way almost every athlete had been taking a knee during our National Anthem. I noticed several of the Chargers players kneeling in the end zone close to me before the Anthem, but honestly do not know what their motivation was or if it had anything to do with the George Floyd event. I did not notice any unpatriotic antics during Kristin Chenoweth's stirring rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner. I enjoyed the contest, the camaraderie, the festivities around the ballpark, and say with joy and relief, the home team won! 

Thoughts on Strike

Does anyone outside of the Hollywood writer community care that they are on strike? On the other hand, most of us find ourselves in motorized vehicles when we try to get someplace. The autoworkers' action is significant and consequential to just about every American.  Biden has a funny way of showing he is for autoworkers by sending their jobs overseas where electric cars few want or will find practical to meet their needs will be produced by other countries workers using rare earth minerals mined by slaves. 

Texas Impeachment Fiasco

Someone not named "Donald Trump" or "Joe Biden" for that matter just faced impeachment. That was Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Some saw the effort at removal as purely political, and Paxton survived it. Maybe this impeachment thing is becoming trendy, like sexually transitioning confused children. Thank goodness the Texas effort failed, or we might witness a string of impeachments in many states for no good reason. 

The Predictable Result

My hometown of Nashville as the state capital hosts huge numbers of government employees who rarely if ever vote Republican. Music City also boasts numerous universities and almost everyone associated with these institutions disdains the GOP. Nashville just had a Republican mayoral candidate who openly abhors Trump and called herself a "Liz Cheney Republican". Is it any wonder the the Republicans got their clocks cleaned in local elections, going one for forty-one, with the most progressive Democrat ever taking our mayor's race and Leftists winning 39 of our 40 Council seats? 

The Pointless Debate

Donald Trump has an insurmountable lead in Republican polling. Why would he sit with the lesser candidates and draw eyes to a televised event that without Trump, few would watch? He would be a giant lowering himself to dwarfs. 

The Looming Impeachment

If Biden admitted taking bribes on video, the DemocRATS in the US Senate would still not convict Joe. I am not saying that the Republicans who control the House of Representatives should not expose the crimes allegedly committed by the Biden family, just that the process will never lead to Biden's removal from office. Impeachment will not be pointless but will not be successful in the sense the lawbreaker in the White House will remain in office at least through the end of this term and might even win reelection (by hook and mostly crook) and enter his second term as the figurehead of the regime. 

An Absolute Wrong

If you pay ransom, does that not encourage future abductions? If you give money to the world's largest sponsor of terror, will that not inevitably lead to more terrorism? If you exchange five spies for five innocent dual citizens being held hostage, will the hostage takers not simply grab more innocents so that they have something to exchange to be paid-off again? The United States should not have succumb to Iranian blackmail, because by doing so, it assures the Mad Mullahs of Iran will fund more chaos, grab more Americans, and be better positioned to start World War III. 

Need Charlton Heston

The citizens of New Mexico need the actor who became the spokesman for the National Rifle Association to rise from the grave or someone with similar charisma to crystallize the threat to liberty that the Governor of that state just initiated. She must not be allowed to suspend the God-given rights of the people for thirty days or even one. Maybe Heston if he was still here would intone, "keep your hands off our guns, you dirty Governor". 

An Absolute Right?

The only liberty you have is that which you can defend. If minions of the Governor of New Mexico come to take your heretofore legally-owned weapon, what do you intend to do about it? She may not have a monopoly of force, but Grisham has more firepower at her disposal than any individual in her state. Are you going to go ask the Federal government to preserve your right? Biden wants to take your guns too. 

Forgive and Forget

I am going to start buying Bud Light by the keg. I will tune out Tucker Carlson for all that truth telling, and go back to watching all the pablum on Fox News, so I never face real world concerns. I will purchase season tickets to all the professional sports that popped a squat on Old Glory. It is time to move on and empty my head of jejune notions like liberty and justice (you know the real kind, not the perverse "social" variety).

Bud Light Commercial

Two of my uncles and several cousins played college football. I always enjoyed taking in a game. I was excited that the pro football season was kicking off last night. I tuned in NBC, which I almost never do, and was able to watch with some enjoyment right up until the ad came on for the beer that is killing Anheuser-Busch. At that point I could not take it and had to tune out. 

The Down Low

Barack Hussein Obama may or may not have been on the "down low". An alleged former girlfriend claims Obama wanted to make love to men, and now somewhat shady Larry Sinclair said he did in fact engage in sex with Obama in 1999. I do not particularly care about Obama's peccadillos, but know Barack brought the country down when in office and may well still be doing so today, which is low down. 

For the Jews

The State of Israel has far more friends among American Christians than there are Jews in the entire world. I once read sixty million American followers of Jesus have donated to organizations that support the Jewish State. There are only fifteen million Jews on earth. America's Christians are the best friends the Jewish people have. 

Against the Jews

The social media site Gab is infested with Jew-haters. It is as if Goebbels had survived and was running an online message board. Wretched Holocaust deniers and those blaming the Jewish people for all that is wrong with the world populate this Twitter/X competitor, and now some of the same anti-Jewish lies spread by Gab are circulating on Elon Musk's media buy. The horrible fact is that Musk has run with some of the distortion, thereby encouraging the poison message of those who want to finish the genocide Hitler started. 

And They Prospered

The Clintons entered public service, and without so much as running a food truck, they prospered. The Obamas rose to serve us, and without so much as operating a convenience store, they prospered. The Bidens came into public office, and without private sector success even managing a coffee shop, they prospered. Trump gave up billions in profit as a developer to serve us, and WE PROSPERED. 

On Lessons Learned

If you find yourself in a jewelry store in Mexico and the name is displayed in English as "Real" or "Honest", do not buy anything because nothing they are selling is what they represent it is. I speak from experience on this one. The staff may well try to ply you with alcohol. Do not accept. They are not offering you any favors. In fact, do not drink anything they try to give you unless it is in a sealed bottle from a reputable manufacturer, and you break the seal yourself. Do not accept the representations of any tour company that brought you to the premises because they are paid to bring you there and are given a kickback on anything you are conned into purchasing. If you are roped into buying an item (which I strongly discourage), do not use a debit card or cash. I was told when I made my mistake that they would not accept either credit card I brought from the States, but they accepted my debit card on the vastly overpriced fugazi they tricked me into buying after the tour company took us to a tequila distillery where I was generously supplied about eight shots as samples (and they probably are paid off to by both the guide and the jeweler you are driven to AFTER consuming all that free alcohol, which lowers your inhibitions and makes you more susceptible to transacting business with scoundrels). Then, I was welcomed to the jewelry shop with a large glass of tequila and given another by the gracious clerks as I pondered the purchase they were cajoling me to make. If you are tricked into buying, you will find at least if you used a credit card rather than a debit, you may later be able to dispute the charge and have a chance to be reimbursed, while with a debit card purchase, you are just out of luck (as you would be with cash).  It is futile (and even dangerous) to report fraud by a Mexican merchant against you as an American visitor because you are a gringo and whoever you report it to has likely taken a cut from the corrupt stores that are preying on tourists. If you seek help from the US embassy or consulate, you will likely hear there is nothing they can (will) do, perhaps followed by "you will know better next time". If you do travel to our Southern neighbor, I suggest caveat emptor. 

Anti and Un

The national leadership of the DemocRAT party wants to tear down the United States from the Founding. That is why statues have been removed and military bases renamed. Some would contend that is why crime is exploding and cities were allowed to burn after George Floyd. That is why prosecutors have coddled criminals and efforts have been made to defund the police. That is why the DOJ, FBI, and IRS are acting as weaponized partisans. That is why the Constitutional rights to keep and bear arms and of free speech have been butchered. That is why we have a sieve for a border that rewards illegal aliens for invading America. 

The Family Business

Joe Biden has an occupation, that being politician. Clearly though, the way the Biden clan produced revenue was through GRAFT. Do you see foreign countries going out of their way to give money to American drug addicts other than Hunter Biden? I mean have you ever noticed a Red Chinese operative doling out cash to the fellow stumbling out of the crack house off of Skid Row? Did the Ukrainians ever throw a bundle of Benjamins at the dude who has to urinate in a cup for his parole officer in Dover because folks in Kyiv have always wanted to give a hand up to random drug-addled Americans? No, the Biden family was paid because they were performing services for entities abroad that do not care in the slightest about the welfare of America's citizens (and neither do the ones accepting bribes from hostile actors abroad here in the United States). 

No Concealment There

Who doesn't use a bunch of email aliases? Who doesn't have dozens of offshore bank accounts? Who doesn't channel their pay through nine relatives including their minor grandchildren? There is absolutely nothing to see with allegations of Biden family corruption. They are every bit as clean as the Gambino clan. 

On Hurricane Preparedness

Weather events are unpredictable. You may know a storm is headed your way but not precisely where it will strike. At a particular time, the authorities may say a hurricane will make landfall a couple of hundred miles from you, but in the actual event, it may turn and land right on top of you. If you live near the coast or even a low-lying area where nothing blocks storms making their way inland, the best course of action is evacuating to a location well away from the danger zone. Yes, it is inconvenient and certainly much effort, but your property is not worth as much an your life. 

Yes to Unity

We are called the "United" States. Joe Biden declared he would "unify" Americans when he was running for President. Does anyone feel we are coming closer together in our nation? What unites us now? We are more divided now than at least any time since the war in Vietnam and the the turmoil that accompanied the draft.  Some claim we are as roiled now as the early 1860's. Joe Biden has definitely not brought Americans together; in fact, he has done just the opposite.

Richard Nixon covered up a felony break-in, but nobody thought it was a good idea to send a President of the United States to prison at that time. Times must really have changed since then because now a lot of folks want President Trump incarcerated for doing nothing heretofore criminal. Biden should not have pushed this because it looks like he has ample penitentiary offenses in his past to worry about, and both sides may now start playing this ugly game.

The most corrupt American President ever is trying to imprison his predecessor and primary rival. Biden (of course) is merely the fading figurehead of the sinister forces that prop him up and actually run the regime while Dementia Joe eats ice cream and takes more vacations than anyone in political history. The mugshot of once and future President Donald J Trump may be the most important photograph ever snapped. It is the picture of only a solitary man but one that captured many millions more who will NEVER bow to those trying to take America down. Soon, we will stand triumphant over the cabal. I would not want to be them when the glorious day comes.

Criminalizing the Opposition

DemocRATS in Wisconsin started the Reign of Terror against Republicans a few years back. National GOP figures did not carp too much about their brethren being persecuted in Madison, so the DemocRATS decided to branch out nationally with their tactic of literally criminalizing the opposition. Now, we see even the leading Republican candidate for the Presidency being brought before the bar. The GOP will not even commit to impeaching the venal usurper in the White House or even offer strident defense of Trump because they are spineless and weak as water in party leadership beyond Trump. 

Tennessee's "Special Session"

Nothing the legislature of my home state passes in the special session Bill Lee, our Republican Governor called, will make students, or you and your loved ones any safer. It will provide a rallying point for Leftists who want to take guns away from heretofore law-abiding citizens but will not stop any mass shootings. The event, no matter what legislation comes from it, will divide Republicans and galvanize those against Second Amendment protections and the natural right of self-defense. Great job Governor Lee- you have hurt your own party and helped the DemocRATS in Tennessee.

California is beset with floods and now an earthquake. Now might be the time for those living in the Golden State to REPENT. 

An Inadequate Response

Authorities in Maui failed the community during the fire. Too many died needlessly, and now government at all levels is failing the survivors. There is largely an embargo in legacy media of residents describing the failures they faced as the fire raged and the resistance they are contending with as they try to recover. The story is being suppressed because government screwing things up in Hawaii is entirely DemocRAT at the local, state, and Federal level, so there is no Republican to fault as Bush was blamed during Hurricane Katrina. 

Climate Change Fires

Some political figures and commentators are claiming tragic fires around the world are a manifestation of man-caused climate change. Doubtless, some of the events are caused in some way by people, whether through accidents or arson or even failure to clean up dry underbrush. These factors are indeed man-caused or neglectful errors, but that fact does NOT amount to proof of man-caused climate change. These fires may ultimately contribute ever so slightly to a global rise in temperature (a tiny fraction of a single degree over a century) but not enough to have any meaningful impact on life on earth. These holocausts are horrific, but the damage done is localized to small areas relative to the size of the world. 

World Economic Collapse?

The economy of the United States is on the precipice, but that of Red China has already fallen off. In a sad irony, the situation in heavily sanctioned Russia is not actually that bad. About the only places thriving are the Middle East oil producers, largely doing so because the US threw itself down the chute by permitting Biden to gut domestic oil production when America is still oil-reliant and that petroleum has to come from somewhere. Nothing being done in Beijing or DC is helping average folks. Biden's idea to help is to replace the real carbon-based economy with a phony one that will handsomely pay off Biden's backers and cronies at the expense of the rest of us. Schemers will never pave a path to prosperity for the People. 

Really in Charge?

Unfortunately, Americans see for themselves that some of their "leaders" are addled and no longer capable of leading anything. The American fish is rotting from the head down, with Joe Biden clearly no longer capable of running a convenience store, but he is fine to run the nation. Joe is not able to think on his feet anymore, which is shown in his "no comment" response to the question about the Maui tragedy. He could and should have said "terrible thing and we are going to help those people" (or "the survivors" or words to that effect). He didn't need to deliver a Gettysburg Address but should have offered some comfort. That should have been easy, but for a dementia sufferer, it is not. Dianne Feinstein is just as diminished in the US Senate. It is not just DemocRATS who need to make way for new blood. Republican Mitch McConnell is in the throes of decline before our eyes as well. A politician does not need to be old to not be able to lead. Senator John Fetterman, a relatively young DemocRAT, is just a handicapped as the aforementioned elderly place fillers. Yes, staffs of politicians play crucial roles and lobbyists are drafting legislation with those supposed to represent us too often used as a pass through to enact laws that harm us but benefit corporate overlords. Jimmy Carter took criticism as President for trying to micromanage an enterprise so massive (the administration of America) that nobody could control. Faded old Joe Biden will never be accused of micromanagement. 

Still Supporting Mitch?

Mitch McConnell is in the same boat regarding his ability to function as Dianne Feinstein. He has health issues that should compel him to resign. He also has a greater level of commitment to the Ukraine than to many matters that concern Kentuckians much more than a foreign war in a distant locale that few in the Commonwealth Mitch is supposed to represent even support. The citizens of Kentucky need vibrant new representation that puts them ahead of Europeans. 

The Trump Crucifixion

Trump has been charged yet again in another jurisdiction with "politics". It is now apparently illegal for certain Republicans to practice this dark art, while it remains de rigueur for DemocRATS and establishment GOP figures to continue their spell casting, particularly if those incantations are aimed against Donald himself. 

Just Be Competent

DemocRATS controlled the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana during Hurricane Katrina, Though they failed utterly at the local level, they were able to pass the blame up to a Republican (President Bush) to absolve themselves and their party and put the blame on the one part of government least culpable for all the failures. The press will not pass the buck up to Biden for the carnage that just happened in the DemocRAT-controlled state of Hawaii on DemocRAT-controlled Maui. That would not serve the agenda the way smearing Bush did back in 2005. Not every Republican is capable and trustworthy, but time after time, DemocRAT leaders show they are incompetent, and it leads to deaths that should have been prevented, as in Hurricane Katrina, the Afghanistan withdrawal, and now the horror in Hawaii. 

The Tricky Devils

What do you call a political party that has become a pseudo faith with a dogma that humankind is destroying earth and abortion is held as its highest sacrament? This demonic group is called DemocRATS, and the baby killing they endorse is not just destroying a human fetus early in pregnancy but all the way through and perhaps a bit after delivery (see former DemocRAT Virginia Governor Ralph Northam). If someone believes a man and his gas-guzzling SUV are so powerful that Earth is being destroyed by them, then they are negating the Lord, the True Master of Creation. What hubris for someone to think their activities are so potent that they must be curtailed to save the planet itself. Then, this same party has relinquished control of America's Southern border to cartels that used to make the bulk of their ill-gotten gain through their drug business but are now making more from orchestrating the flow of migrants and extorting them along the way than from narcotics. Trump had the border largely sealed but the DemocRATS in charge now have it 

(essentially) wide open. Then at the highest level including the Presidency, they play the self-enrichment game, which Trump did NOT do. He has lost a billion dollars by leaving his business empire to serve us. Then, all the voting games they play with everything from the old ACORN registration tricks to pushing ranked choice voting to thwart the will of real live breathing voters. Non-existent and dead folks vote DemocRAT in large majorities. Which party coddles criminals and tries to deny the law-abiding the means and right to self-defense?  That would be the same party that stole the Presidency and controls the Senate right now with two Senators who can't even think anymore (Fetterman and Feinstein). Yes, one party may be weak and not united (the Republicans), but at least they are not demonic. 

Two Other Aspects

Two more factors about the new Special Counsel investigating Hunter stink. First, this will now be used by Team Biden to deny access to witnesses by the US House of Representatives. The Republicans now in control there will be told they may not call certain witnesses because of an "ongoing investigation", which does not advance justice but furthers a cover-up. Next, at least according to lawyer and conservative icon Mark Levin, the man appointed Special Counsel may not serve as he is coming from within the Department of Justice, but must come from outside of it and be a truly independent counsel. The fix may still be in to protect the Biden family from any consequence for wrongdoing they have allegedly committed. 

Evenhandedness in Law

A special counsel will now look into Hunter Biden. This is essentially meaningless as all Hunter had to offer his foreign contacts, some in countries adversarial to the United States, was access to his father. So does this appointment demonstrate that American justice is fair to both sides? Well, it is if you think Trump, who has committed no crime deserved lawfare and unprecedented intrusion into his life, and the Biden clan who could give a mafia family a run for their money regarding criminality both should be in jail. It is the same conceptually as treating a man who killed a fish (to feed his family) the same as Dr. Mengele. 

Cloward-Piven Presidency

Joe Biden is doing precisely what America's worst enemies would do to transform the United States into a country that would not be recognizable to the Founders. More accurately, since Biden is clearly in the grip of mental decline, the take down of our nation is being achieved by those using Biden as the figurehead of their EVIL enterprise. If you waned to destroy a country from within, what would you be doing that corrupt fading Joe is not already? 

Last State Suffering

Hawaii is beset with death and destruction from terrible fires. Pray for those poor people, and if you have the means, send help by giving to a reputable charity. It may be geographically distant from where you are but those are your countrymen suffering. Help them if you are able.  

What Unplanned Means

There are myriad ways to prevent unintended pregnancies, now more than ever before. There is always the ironclad prevention tool of restraint, but that requires self-control, a commodity apparently in short supply. In almost every instance, the need for abortion could be excluded by acting in a responsible or moral manner before engaging in sex. 

What Abortion is

Abortion is NOT healthcare. In rare instances, terminating a pregnancy may be necessary to save the life and health of the woman carrying the pregnancy. I mean physical health here, not some claim any abortion seeker could make that delivering the child would adversely affect her psychology. I also believe if a woman is raped, and pursues the arrest and conviction of that rapist that she should not be forced to carry that fetus to term and deliver her rapist's baby. In every other circumstance, I believe that abortion is murdering a human being and should not be permitted by our laws. 

Coincidence or Conspiracy

 A huge granary just exploded in Turkey. It was packed with grain, which was already a threatened commodity due to the war Russia started against the Ukraine. This catastrophe is one of many recently involving facilities that store, process, or produce food, which is one item without which no human being is able to live. One might conclude that these events were only sad happenstance, but then add in that many countries are actually seizing farm land and culling dairy cattle to fight supposed man-caused climate change. Some leaders have even declared the earth is overpopulated and that humanity needs to eliminate as many as seven billion people. It might not be a reach to conclude that some of these events are part of a plan to thin the human horde. 

Teach Them Well

Forty years or so back, I had a high school chum, who happened to be a judge's son, and he and I had not seen each other in a few years (since sixth grade, and I believe it was then eleventh grade when we ended up at the same school again and reacquainted). We were pretty close friends from third grade on to when we ended up going to separate middle schools (then termed junior high schools). Well, I had not talked to this six foot three inch fellow in a few years and was just so delighted and surprised to find him again after a few years without contact. I had no idea what he had been up to or his current mindset. He asked me in a break in classes to follow him around Hillwood High School while he was distributing leaflets that I knew nothing about and had never even looked at as we walked down halls and he taped his flyer to some doors and slid it into a few lockers. One copy floated away, and I handed it back to him, catching a glimpse of a heading that said "RCYB", which I knew absolutely nothing about as I did not take the time to peruse the text. He asked me more than once if he "smelled" which should have been a clue to his psychological state, but was not to a sixteen year old. I told him "not more than anyone else". Well it turns out, the pamphlet was some Communist balderdash that he was either passing around as mischief making tomfoolery or maybe what he really believed in his mid-teens. I do not know, but think based on our talk that day that it was only attention-seeking and not ideological. In any event, I found myself, after we parted summoned to Vice Principal Welch's office where the head of school discipline awaited me with a real Federal Bureau of Investigation agent. The literature my long lost friend was handing out was some sort of agitprop against the country I loved then and now. I protested my innocence, and the truth that if I were old enough to vote, I would be a Reagan Republican. I heard the scare speech about how no political organizing was permitted on campus and how I could never be involved in anything like that in the future. As I was led out I noticed the Teacher's Union literature posted on the bulletin board that included the reminder to go canvas for exclusively DemocRAT candidates, but you young students better not have been politically active in Metro schools back then, at least if it was for some unpopular movement.
