Finally in Agreement

I finally found something with which I can agree with AOC. She rightly claims a Bloomberg Presidency would be worse than Trump. To this I say,"Amen sister!"

Less Interconnected World

President Trump wants a more self-reliant America. The US is far too dependent on Red China for manufactured goods and more importantly, for pharmaceuticals. President Trump wants more secure borders. If we let in the world unscreened, we let in all the world's diseases. Trump is determined to protect the homeland and the American people.

Gladly Tanking Markets

There are forces at work who would gladly crash US markets just to ensure that President Trump is not reelected. Red China despises this US President and his tough-on-them trade policy and does not want four more years of facing Trump. Domestic opponents in America would be willing to endure recession to see Trump gone. There are plenty of people who are not sad to see the Wall Street correction we are now suffering.

Holding His Own

I am not an admirer of Bernie Sanders. If Sanders was running for dog catcher, I would not vote for him because I do not support Communism. That being said, no Democrat opponent laid a glove on Sanders during last night's debate. Everyone else on stage tried to knock Bernie down, but Bernie more than held his own. Sanders may not win South Carolina, but he may run a close second to Joe Biden, who has vested his whole campaign on his South Carolina firewall. Biden now always looks addled, and I doubt he will win a state beyond South Carolina. I think the Democrat nomination is Bernie's to lose.

ANTIFA's Inside Man

Leftist street thugs will have a friend in the White House if Bernie Sanders becomes President. Law-abiding citizens will have plenty to fear if Bernie wins, but ANTIFA will feel freer than ever to attack patriots.

Trump in India

To the American Left, President Trump is an international pariah (except to Russia's Putin, to whom Trump is a puppet). To the rest of the world, President Trump is a leader on the same scale as even the great Obama. Just look at the friendly reception our President is receiving from the Indian leadership and more important, the Indian people.

Last Fight Watched

I heard there is a new heavyweight champ. I could not care less. The last fight I thought I was interested in, a convicted felon bit off part of his opponent's ear. This is not a sport, but a chance to see folks do permanent damage to each other.

Stay or Go

The United States has no good options in Afghanistan. If America stays, our forces will be subject to frequent attacks, often by "insiders", supposed allies wearing the uniform of the Afghan forces. If we abandon Afghanistan, al-Qaeda will be reborn and attacks will be launched from Afghan soil against the homeland again. There really is no good path forward for the US regarding Afghanistan.

Gauge of Progress

A report aired about US progress helping our Afghan allies. This story touted the level of literacy of Afghan forces, declaring it to be higher than the level of literacy of our South Korean military ally. That may or may not be the case, but it is an irrelevant statistic. Mohamed Atta was tremendously educated, fluent in Arabic, German, and English, a doctoral candidate in architecture, a pilot, and a bloodthirsty terrorist of the worst magnitude. I am sure many of those in Afghan uniform are quite well-read as well, but that does not mean Americans could trust these soldiers not to shoot them in the back.

The Undebatable Conclusion

After last night's debate, it is clear all the other candidates were aiming to knock out Bloomberg. Unfortunately for Mike, he did not acquit himself well or seem Presidential. Joe Biden seems a dead issue, certainly no longer a frontrunner. Mayor Pete seems bent on repeating talking points. No one on that stage will be able to take Trump's measure.

What to Recycle

I am not a tree hugger. I believe in climate change, not because of activity by humankind, but because the climate has and always will change. It is up to people to have the ingenuity to adapt as we are not powerful enough to initiate or reverse these changes. I do recycle because there is limited landfill space in my hometown of Nashville (and I presume many other places). There is always a question here as to what is and is not recyclable. In Louisville, the town where I formerly resided, it was always pretty clear what recycling would accept. In Nashville, they change what they will accept regularly. It used to be only back clam shell containers were not accepted. Now, it is cardboard boxes unless they are broken down. If Nashville authorities want recycling, they should keep the rules consistent.

Recipe for Dogs

Take one desiccated road kill squirrel and that's about it. Enjoy! Alternate- a bird is just as delicious to Fido.

No Perfect President

On this Presidents' Day, we must remember that every President is only human and every human is flawed. Emperors, kings, and Presidents are not perfect. They are just as flawed as the rest of us. Still, Presidents, despite their flaws, have accomplished great things.

The People's Candidate

You know that Bernie Sanders is just like you everyday folks. We are all multimillionaires, right? Yes, his wife had a hand in bankrupting a college, but who hasn't bankrupted a college? Sure, Bernie owns three houses but who doesn't? Sure Bernie is going to make you give up petroleum-powered vehicles after flying private jets to campaign events- wait a sec- this guy really is a hypocrite!

A Perfect Ticket

Nothing could be better than a Bloomberg-Clinton combo in the coming Presidential election. Bloomberg, the soda-banning nanny-state wannabe dictator and Hillary Clinton, the most dishonest woman that ever lived, would make for a forty state victory for President Trump.

Bitter Billionaires Brawl

Can you imagine if it is Donald Trump versus Little Mike Bloomberg for the Presidential election? Not only did neither of these guys grow up in a log cabin, neither has ever been in one. Talk about the hardships these two had to face- one time Trump left the house without his spray tan and Bloomberg forget to wear elevator shoes.

Bloomberg Buying Election

Mike Bloomberg is spending enormous amounts of his own money in my home state of Tennessee in his effort to buy the Presidency. It will not work. Bloomberg has the same prospect of defeating President Trump in Tennessee as FDR does, and FDR has been dead since World War II.

Victory for Socialism

Last night, Bernie Sanders, an outright, self-proclaimed socialist won a Democrat primary. Sanders is NOT a typical Democrat. The man spent his honeymoon in the now defunct Soviet Union. President Trump is far closer to JFK policy wise than Sanders. Sanders is no cute and cuddly Swedish-style socialist either. He is a hardline USSR Leonid Brezhnev-type of central planner who if elected, would rule by decree, using executive orders like no American President ever has.

Warren Looks Pale

Liz Warren does not have the glow of a winner in New Hampshire. In fact, Warren looks so bad that another drubbing like the one she suffered in Iowa will likely finish off her Presidential campaign. Another old foe is set to go right along with Uncle Joe.

End of Viability

I do not see Joe Biden continuing very long in the DemocRat nominating process. Biden has no chance to prevail in New Hampshire and may come in fourth or fifth. If anyone thought Biden would be the unstoppable force to defeat Trump, would you not think he might be able to prevail in his own party?

Gun Control Fantasy

A soldier in Thailand just massacred over twenty people. Unless you are going to ban police and the military from having access to firearms, there will always be mass shootings. You see someone will always have access to the means to murder and if you disarm the law-abiding, the criminal will enjoy a monopoly on deadly weapons because they will never comply with any gun confiscation.

Hate Propelled Democrats

The Democrats despise President Trump. They really revile Rush Limbaugh and seem glad he has cancer. The Democrats do not just abhor the leaders on our side. They hate every single one of us who support our President.

When to Quit

The Democrats in the US House of Representatives may mount additional impeachment attempts against President Trump. Democrats who would put the nation through another attempted impeachment of our President are absolutely demented.

Romney Grabs Spotlight

Mitt Romney is like the screaming toddler in the grocery store. There may be nothing wrong with the little fellow beyond wanting all the attention. Nobody is talking much about all the other Republicans or Democrats who stuck together. Just about everyone is sharing their thoughts, pro or con, about Mitt. I can not stand Mitt, who basically handed Obama his second term, but I have to hand it to him- Mitt is a master at grabbing the spotlight.

Trump's Magnum Opus

The State of the Union address by President Trump was the greatest speech I have seen by a politician. It was optimistic and forward-looking. The President chronicled much of what he has accomplished for the good of the American people and told how he would keep the momentum going. Trump talked about how the interests of minorities had been advanced by his policies and how he would advance them still farther. Trump spoke of our defense and winning and ending foreign involvements. He warned enemies that if they harm Americans, they forfeit their lives. The President told of his success in helping people off the dole, not because of the miserly nature of his governance, but because of his creation of so much opportunity for all Americans. Trump singled out some Americans for praise and told how his policies had or were going to help other Americans in the gallery. President Trump looked generous and large while his opponents looked small and petty in comparison. Bravo President Trump- let us all continue to benefit from your second term encore.

Dear Old Friend

For most weekdays that he was broadcasting live for the last thirty-one years and on weekends that I may have missed the live broadcast, I have listened to Rush Limbaugh. That amounts to hearing Rush five or six days a week for around sixty percent of my life. Rush is a trusted friend. I can confidently believe in what he says. Though we never have met and are unlikely to ever meet, Rush Limbaugh is a like a member of my family, who I frankly trust more than some relatives. I was shocked and saddened yesterday to hear that Rush is battling advanced lung cancer. I seldom pray for a celebrity or public figure, but when I heard Rush was facing such a dangerous enemy, I prayed for him. I will continue to ask the Lord to spare Rush and I encourage you to pray for Rush as well.

Not a Chance

How can a political party that can not successfully run a caucus in a state with a small population possibly be trusted to run this country?

San Francisco Ravaged

The city of San Francisco was left in smoldering rubble after their failed attempt to win a football game. No, wait a second, absolutely nothing changed in San Francisco because it was just a football game.

Hoping They Win

Everyone of the Super Bowl advertisers hope they will be the next Apple. Chances are they won't be, but surely, millions of people will see the ads.

The Beautiful Game

Soccer has been called "the beautiful game". In my hometown of Nashville, though soccer's popularity has clearly grown, it still ranks last among the major sports in viewership. I can not see how a broke city can afford hundreds of millions of dollars to subsidize wealthy soccer team owners. If it had a chance of being profitable, the millionaires who own the team would not have asked the city for a subsidy.
