Palestinians Venerate Murder

The corpses of Palestinian terrorists including so-called suicide bombers, some held by Israel since the 1970s, were returned to the Palestinians today. The remains were greeted with orgiastic fervor as Palestinians once again demonstrated the Jihadi credo that they "love death" more than the infidel loves life. Their reception of shahid who have slaughtered non-combatants demonstrate one more illustration of corporate depravity wherein their can be no compromise between Islamists and those who revere the inherent order of civilization (such as Israel as the regional representative of Western values). The heart of Islam is too often trapped in a seventh century world where imagined sorcerers are to this day beheaded by sword in Saudi Arabia and Palestinians pray their progeny walk into Jew-laden cafes with bomb vests to detonate themselves into the forever paradise of murdering martyrs who rise to seventy-two virgin heaven soaked in innocent Jewish (or Christian) blood. I see no room for negotiation with this nihilist brand of fanaticism.

All Data Points

Mitt Romney locked in the Republican Presidential nomination last night with his victory in Texas and America's conservatives are now left with the former Massachusetts governor, a committed conciliator and arch-moderate as our Hobson's Choice. I will embrace Governor Romney though as if he is Ronald Reagan reanimated, simply because he has the great good fortune of not being Barack Hussein Obama. Voters are left weighing an overt Leftist who is spending US into oblivion or a midway moderate who does not want to rock the boat too much. I hope America will not allow Obama and his flacks to paint Romney as a capitalist ogre bent on starving the poor but I know the dinosaur media will do their level best to keep Barry in the White House.

Is Spain Next?

With Greece in a shambles and dragging down Europe, could Spain be next? Spain has unique financial weakness because of a national push away from fossil fuels and toward "green energy" that destroyed the manufacturing sector that accompanies the socialist policies already undermining the other European economic basket cases. Spain like Greece may already be past saving and ironically, instead of heeding this warning, the United States Barack Hussein Obama has mimicked the policies that broke Spain, right down to pushing solar and wind energy with massive subsidies while crippling coal and oil with burdensome regulation and onerous taxes. If you see a man drowning because he will not let go of an anvil, you probably should not jump into the water carrying an anvil yourself.

Holding the Gains

Hearing the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff talking on ABC's morning show for Memorial Day, one worries if America is being led by those who refuse to take off their rose-colored glasses. With eighty thousand US troops still in country, Afghanistan remains a tinderbox that could still fall back into the hands of the Taliban, particularly if American troops withdraw precipitously. A schedule for our forces exit from a conflict zone can never be set in stone and really should never be published as it only tells our enemies to harass us as we are departing to claim credit for chasing the last superpower away or simply allows adversaries to keep their powder dry until the US military leaves. We do not want all our treasure spent and more important, our blood sacrifice, to have gone for nothing.

America Was Attacked

Somehow, less than eleven years after the event, some Americans are ready to bury their head in the sand. On this Memorial Day, we can not as a nation forget the brutal attack on Manhattan of September 11, 2001, where innocent civilians were slaughtered in the thousands and the assault on the Pentagon that same infamous day. A nation at peace was thrust into our ongoing conflict when we were assailed by atavists from Afghanistan. The United States can never go back to the isolationist complacency it enjoyed on September Tenth, Two Thousand One, just as we never could or should have returned to a December 6, 1941 mindset before Pearl Harbor awakened us from our REM-state slumber. Peace is the dream that is only earned when some of our own heroes rest atop the enemy their sacrifice helped vanquish.

It Worked Once

America's dumbest voters allowed themselves to be sold a bill of goods about "hope and change", once and in sufficient numbers to threaten the nation as conceived by the Founding Fathers, attack First Principles, and erode human liberty not only here in the US but worldwide. Now, Barack Hussein Obama has left his marching through Georgia smoldering tracks across large segments of the economy, ironically, including those he was purportedly trying to help such as the "green" energy sector. Barry has been revealed to those willing to look as a crony capitalist, a phony leader, and a blame-shifter not willing to accept responsibility for any of his own failings but quick to take credit for other people's accomplishments and heroism such as the Navy SEALs in their killing of Osama bin Laden. Now, Obama will welcome the last President Bush back to the White House for the unveiling of the official portrait knowing full well that he and his surrogates will slime W all along the campaign trail. If I were the Bushes, I would decline the invitation but the former First Family will feel bound by tradition to graciously accept the pretend hospitality of the Obamas who obviously utterly despise George W and his country club kinfolk.

America Beyond Broke

A little discrepancy over the actual amount of the Federal deficit has arisen. It is all a matter of arcane numbers and really does not amount to much. Is it a matter of a decimal point, or a comma, or simply millions misplaced? No, nothing like that. Is the issue rising to the level of a billion or billions of dollars (that would really cause concern)? Heaven's no, mere billions does not start to tally the sum- how about trillions more in unfunded obligations that are excluded from the sum thanks to legalized accounting tricks Congress authorized some time back in a glorious CYA- and how about figuring a way to pay when the bill comes due?

A Snowbird Watcher

I have marveled all my life watching relatives and family friends consistently gripe about the weather in their Northern (Northeastern) home states and loudly state how they wished they were in "sunny Florida". They strove to retire down there and made plans to uproot from white winters to white beaches, from chattering teeth to golden tans, from the rush-rush of crowded commutes to the tranquility of senior communities. There is not one of them with whom I have spoken after the move that does not complain bitterly about the heat, the humidity, the swarming insects, and the swarm of Yankees, who all evidently shared the same dream of sunset years. They should have realized happiness is not about climate or locale but comes from within.

The Facebook Debacle

Many investors thought the Facebook initial public offering (IPO) would be the "sure thing". After all, virtually everyone is on Facebook and such an ubiquitous brand should in many minds go straight up, but what is the money-making model in the mix at Facebook? Even with millions of subscribers, how is Facebook's bread proverbially buttered? In the event, instead of the IPO carrying the market up as many hoped it would, instead of saving financially strapped California with the creation of dozens of new billionaires in the state where the company has its corporate offices, the Facebook IPO turns out to have been a grand disappointment. My late beloved Father who invested all his life in the stock market was known to say, "The only lead pipe cinch in picking stocks is there is no sure thing" and obviously Dad's thinking goes for Facebook in spades.

A Triple Crown?

Barack Hussein Obama has attempted to derail the engine of economic prosperity with burdensome regulation and higher taxes. Obama has gutted the military and in so doing, made America and the world less safe. Finally, Team Obama with their expansion of government made each individual less free. In less than four years in office, that is quite the trifecta.

A Wartime President

We have heard Barack Hussein Obama crow about killing Osama bin Laden and Obama flacks disparage Mitt Romney by falsely claiming that the former Massachusetts governor would not have taken the world's arch-Jihadist out under similar circumstances, but when has Obama spoken of a strategy to gain victory or even the desire to defeat and turn back Islamic extremism. Indeed, Obama has embraced some of the most fanatical actors in the so-called "Arab Spring" as they have overturned or eliminated (by murder) the old order. Obama permits the spread of radicalism and even tacitly encourages Jihad against America's Middle East partners of long-standing. Let us hope in the coming Presidential campaign, Mitt Romney differentiates himself from Obama by indicating the need to triumph over aggressive, expansionist Islam for the national security of the United States and the stability and freedom of the whole world.

A Little Preview

Demonstrations accompanied by some violence have afflicted the NATO conference in Chicago. Fortunately, events have not been borne out to be the 1968 Democratic convention all over again, but that is largely thanks to vigilance by the authorities and some proper policing. Do not think though for an instant that instability or indeed, even chaos, could not at some point stalk America's streets.

Europe Tumbling Down

Greece may take Europe with her. The ultimate lesson of Greek collapse is that resources are finite and that the cradle to grave welfare state can not be sustained. Even mighty Germany can not afford to prop up Greece.

Really Stretching Truth

Drudge today highlighted the Breitbart story containing the startling revelation that Barack Hussein Obama's own literary agent put forward the claim that Obama was born in Kenya. Joel B. Pollak discovered a 1991 promo for the future US President proudly boasting of Obama's esoteric provenance. Well, that was a publicist hawking his product way back then but evidently as late as 2007, claims of a heritage that would have excluded Obama from the Presidency (because of foreign birth) were still being circulated to pitch Barry. In any event, if Obama knew he was being promoted with factual inaccuracies more than a decade before his Presidential run, one wonders what other biographical massage has been performed to keep the product shining.

Seeds of Revolution

Could there be sufficient turmoil in Greece that blood spills? With or without a government forming after another round of elections, there exists sufficient foment that violence will erupt on the street, and not just from black-flag anarchists and holdover Marxists but from the formerly middle class, now finding themselves dispossessed, and the young who have bleak prospect of jobs in their own country. If Greece boils, Spain and even France could follow suit. Remember not so long ago, cars burning across hundreds of French streets.

Competence Trumps Charisma

Let's face it: Mitt Romney is not a compelling speaker. Romney does not rivet audiences like Reagan did or have the captivating turn of phrase of a William F. Buckley. Romney does seem though to be routinely competent which would a step up in the realm of Presidential leadership regarding the economy which should be the deciding issue in the November elections.

The Partisan Divide

I have in the past thought the "no labels" crowd was largely a creation of Democrat operatives meant to distract Republicans and dilute GOP voting strength, but yesterday, in talking to a law student visiting from Idaho, I found there really are some intelligent and aware people who bemoan partisanship. Bless her soul, she really believed each side was equally at fault for America's shortcomings, and if we all just get along, the sixteen trillion dollar deficit would somehow solve itself. There are still some wishy washy but otherwise well aware folks who just do not want to take a stand and would rather be considered moderate than patriot.

Gauging the Wind

Barack Hussein Obama hurt his reelection chances with his embrace of the perversion of the institution of marriage. Some blue collar union households that are traditionally Democratic voters but might have already been teetering over economic doubts now may vote Romney or as is more likely, stay home on election day. Obama already had the homosexual vote and gained nothing with his public declaration to Robin Roberts.

A Sudden Change

I believe anticipation of an Obama victory in 2008 brought the US financial markets down. I also contend Obama's class warfare ethos and socialist tax the rich policies and "green at all costs" including the blocking of the job-creating pipeline from Canada environmental madness have held back a potential economic recovery. If Mitt Romney wins, even before he implements his policies restoring fiscal sanity, the markets may well rise simply because investors will realize capitalists are back at the helm of the nation. This will be an outcome fervently hoped for by free marketers the world over that should add fuel to the engine of prosperity.

The Second Spot

Almost no potential Vice President could change the mind of someone planning to vote Republican with Mitt Romney evidently secure at the top of the ticket. Oddly, with Barack Hussein Obama already having Joe Biden as his current Number Two, the President could upgrade his reelection chances by dropping the former Delaware Senator in favor of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Could the former New York Senator and First Lady change enough minds to alter the outcome of the Presidential race? I doubt Rodham would garner Obama enough additional votes to win but her presence on the ticket would no doubt make the election a more close run event.

The Bully Romney?

Is Mitt Romney going to try to take the rights guaranteed by the US Constitution away from you? Will Mitt attempt to make the Second Amendment null and void and come take your guns? I wonder who the real bully in the US Presidential race is? I for one do not think the former Massachusetts' Governor wants to deprive freedoms most Americans hold dear. Can the same be said for Obama?

Romney's Violent Past?

Main stream media Obama hacks are trying to characterize the presumptive GOP Presidential nominee as a cruel monster because he supposedly bullied a classmate in 1965 (yes- forty-seven years back in his late teens), and put a dog in a carrier secured on a station wagon roof for a family move in the seventies. If this is all the dirt the dinosaur press can dig up on the Republican candidate who will oppose and hopefully oust Obama, Mitt Romney has indeed lived an exceedingly clean life.

Obama's Rainbow Flag

It is no surprise really that our Leftist leader now supports homosexual marriage. Our apostate Muslim President who pretends himself a Christian let his true colors shine forth. Those hues now largely seem red and pink. With hisses to hundreds of millions of Believers and kisses to that tiny but loud percent, Obama has lived down to exactly what conservatives expected.

A Warped Mentality

Who conceives of "underwear bombs"? Who would volunteer to detonate an explosive device around their own midriff? The world has witnessed such demented dedication before with kamikaze pilots and Japanese soldiers who committed suicide rather than be taken captive, and it is only when such fanaticism is thoroughly obliterated by military victory that the civilized world will be able to relax focus and attention and return to a pre-September 11, 2001 mindset. Until then, the jihadi impulse to murder must be countered by our determination to be vigilant and even then, a few acts of suicidal terror will not be intercepted in time.

Give Me State

Greece long ago decided to foster a dole dweller society. Their elections just reconfirmed that the motivating ethos of the majority of Greeks has not changed. Sadly, France just decided to join the rush to a parasitic culture by electing their own sugar daddy leader. I feel sorry for those Europeans who are opting for dependency on government, particularly since the resources to sustain their welfare state do not exist.

If Obama Wins

If Barack Hussein Obama retains power, he will stack the US Supreme Court with judicial activists who will be no more than partisan hacks masquerading as judges. Obama will install enough flacks on lower Federal courts to uphold Leftist rule for generations. Obama will solidify liberal misrule by filling the bench with rubber stamp judges who will deny justice to those who still believe in America as she was founded.

Exit's Immediate Impact

So what happens to Afghanistan when the forces of civilization turn tail and leave the field to violent Islamists? First, I would say a refugee crisis will ensue on a scale not seen since the Cambodian boat people. Any sane Afghan who cooperated with US or allied forces had better run with close family members or risk all being slaughtered by vengeful Taliban. Any teacher who had the temerity to instruct girls along with girls so bold as to have thought they deserved equal education had better flee quickly as well as the new masters of Afghanistan will have no tolerance for "uppity women". Then there is Karzai, the supposed national leader who only really controls the area of Kabul where his Western backers provide a security cordon- the instant his sponsors depart, if he does not abscond with them and whatever ill-gotten booty he can carry- Karzai will go the way of Najibullah, his Soviet-installed predecessor of earlier decades or more recently, Libya's widely despised Qaddafi.

The Real Romney

Mitt Romney is no indecipherable enigma. What Romney is actually is a left of center unctuous panderer who pretended the face of conservatism at times in the primary process to secure the GOP Presidential nomination. I can not stand Romney but will hold my nose and vote for him in November to save the country from the fiscally reckless, power-monopolizing Obama.

France Committing Suicide

If France, as it now seems certain, turns out fiscally-sane Nicolas Sarkozy in favor of insouciant socialist Francois Hollande, she will have condemned herself to the fading Europe of Spain and Greece and drift away from the bulwark propping Europe up, which if France votes in Hollande, will only be Germany. Let France make her own tragic election error but correct America's when we have the chance in November.

Surrender to Jihad

With his 4am speech in Afghanistan, Barack Hussein Obama is showing the white flag to the atavistic Sunni Taliban just as he turns tail to Shiites developing their obliterate Israel nuclear bomb in Iran. I could never have imagined the last superpower in the world showing such yellow to those who want to force our submission to Islam and if they can not convert us by the sword, are more than happy to murder us and our children.

A Fitting Education

America's children are fed a steady diet of man-caused global warming indoctrination not only in public school but in the programming on popular Saturday morning television shows from cartoons right through "Jungle" Jack Hanna and Jarod Miller. This brainwashing is as prevalent as it is poisonous. This is one more argument for the home school movement, along of course with the undeniable fact that far too many of our public school students drop out or perpetually fail to graduate and even some of those "earning" diplomas come out of high school barely literate and unable to cope in the work place.
