A Warped Mentality

Who conceives of "underwear bombs"? Who would volunteer to detonate an explosive device around their own midriff? The world has witnessed such demented dedication before with kamikaze pilots and Japanese soldiers who committed suicide rather than be taken captive, and it is only when such fanaticism is thoroughly obliterated by military victory that the civilized world will be able to relax focus and attention and return to a pre-September 11, 2001 mindset. Until then, the jihadi impulse to murder must be countered by our determination to be vigilant and even then, a few acts of suicidal terror will not be intercepted in time.
