An Unbalanced Assailant

People immediately jumped to the conclusion that the New Orleans airport attack might have had a connection to jihad. That angle certainly needs to be investigated, but I doubt the attacker was motivated by misplaced religious fervor. It is more likely that Richard White had some sort of mental condition. Would a hardened terrorist attack his target with bug spray? A jihadist would probably first use his vehicle as a weapon. A terrorist would probably have the aptitude to construct or attempt to make an improvised explosive device to use in the attack. There will likely be no doubt that Islamist ideology is behind a much bloodier outcome when authentic jihadists launch their next attacks against the American homeland.
