An Invincible Candidate
Ronald Wilson Reagan was the best President of my lifetime, yet he lost the 1976 GOP nomination to the hapless Gerald Ford, who was subsequently defeated by the atrocious Jimmy Carter. George Bush, the father, enjoyed a ninety-plus percent approval rating after evicting Saddam Hussein from Kuwait, but lost his chance for a second term to "Slick Willie" Clinton. Hillary Clinton was thought to be a shoo-in for the 2008 Democratic nomination, but the process gave us one Barack Hussein Obama in her stead. There are great legislators who somehow lose to cretins. Allen West being unseated in the US House is one such example and Rick Santorum being ousted in the US Senate is another. Some candidates are unelectable. No candidate is unbeatable. Voters can be manipulated and elections are not always on the up and up. Hillary Clinton may never be President. Do not feel secure though that she can not win.
