Deflated Not Defeated
Benjamin Netanyahu did not perform as well as expected in Israel's election. His party remained the largest in the Knesset but won less seats than predicted. In fact, Likud Beiteinu actually lost mandates, but this does not mean that Netanyahu will not continue to govern. He will have to find coalition partners but if he can not manufacture a majority, he is still in the best position to be asked by President Peres to form a caretaker government until new elections. A weakened Israel already in the world's least stable region only destabilizes the global situation that much more, so let us hope Israel resolves her electoral dissonance soon.
