Bin Laden's Legacy
When Osama bin Laden was killed, some of Barack Hussein Obama's flacks contended al-Qaeda was vanquished. What is happening with yesterday's hostage-taking and the continuing hostage crisis sadly proves al-Qaeda was not defeated but merely set back by the loss of its leader. I am not sure the loss of any particular planner or funder or combination of losses would put paid to the terror group because al-Qaeda is more than an amalgam of people, it is a nihilist mindset among Wahhabists that defies national boundaries and is impervious to reason.
