The Freedom Train

The freedom train left the station about an hour ago,// But you were not on it.// You were waiting for your government check.// You said, "what the heck"// Another train will be down the track soon enough// But that is all bluster and bluff.// The next train is a dependency wreck// With a whole lot of folks who gave away their soul// Just to climb aboard that Federal dole.// This effort to save US may be in vain// But if you are not insane and still have a brain// You know you have a lot to gain by resisting the urge to grab that free ticket for the welfare train.// Changing course may bring a bit of pain// But our nation is going down the drain// Hold fast to that liberty notion// Set the freedom train back in motion// If you have the sense to stay out of the rain// Use that self-reliance seed to begin again
