Some Terrible Judgement

Who would permit a minor to go out into a riot with a "modern sporting rifle"? I am not saying that once he was in a situation he never should have been in that his actions were not absolutely justified, but why was a seventeen year old there in the first place? I am not a judge or juror and will not guess how a trial (or multiple trials) will turn out. Will someone please investigate how an underage boy had access to a high power weapon and made his way across state lines into a "war zone"?
