"Angel of Peace?"
The Pope has just called Palestinian terror leader Abbas "an angel of peace". "Angel of death" might be more appropriate. The thesis Abbas wrote for his degree supported Holocaust denial. Abbas funded murder as the second in command to Arafat in the PLO. Abbas has consistently praised those who have murdered Jews to Arab audiences. He has blessed the naming of streets and town squares after those who slaughtered innocent Jews. His speeches in Arabic to Palestinians continue to incite violence against Jews. With his statement praising an archterrorist, this Pope is simply carrying on a two thousand year tradition of Jew-hatred within the Catholic Church that was briefly interrupted in 1965 by the Nostra aetate and by more positive relations during the Papacy of John Paul II. Fostering good relations between Muslims and Catholics is more important to Pope Francis that treating Jews justly. Jews have long ago given up the idea that Catholics will treat us fairly.
