Only Growing Older

Some folks are celebrating birthdays today. I know a couple of them. If you are living, getting older is inevitable. It certainly beats the alternative. Happy birthday to all those Libras celebrating today.

Power Hungry Tyrants

If you want to force folks out of their lives and are saying out loud, "You will own nothing and be happy", you are an enemy of freedom. If you think the internal cumbustion engine is a net negative for humanity, you are a fool. If you believe windmills and solar panels can run the world while people maintain or improve their standards of living, you are a lunatic. If you hold any of these tree-hugging positions, you want to see the prospects of future generations diminished.

Future of Work

If the progressives push through their mandatory minimum income stipends, do you think people will have more incentive to work? I think you will have less Americans seeking jobs? Perhaps, you will have a study stream of migrants imported to do our labor for us. Thus endth the nation.

Work for Future

Will raising the debt limit rescue a single American stranded in Afghanistan? Will passing the three and a half trillion dollar monstrosity help control inflation? Will America be safer with no Southern border wall and hundreds of thousands of unscreened migrants surging into the country? Is America a better place with the Biden regime calling the shots? Do you miss Trump yet?

Our Stumbling Blunder

Joe Biden is a walking, talking catastrophe not just for America, but as the US has heretofore been the Arsenal of Democracy and guarantor of freedom, for much of the globe. Iran and Red China like the direction Biden is dragging us down. What is positive for the enemies of liberty, is horrible for humanity. The Biden cabal boosts tyranny and devalues life all over the world.

Say It Saturday

I was in a big box hardware store and saw a fellow bedecked in a shirt with a picture of Ronald Wilson Reagan, emblazoned with "I smell Commies". I thought he was a fellow patriot but felt somewhat disappointed to find he wore the T-shirt as a matter of irony. Well, not everyone is a conservative, but the beauty of this country is he can proclaim any political message he wants.

Goodbye to Plato

When there are capricious rules imposed on the public, it is hard to continue to call America a "Republic". Diktats and mandates from on high without the consent of the governed are turning us away from our Founding. It was a reverence for the rights of the individual that differentiated the United States from other countries. Until now, in the US, the individual was protected from the whims of the collective. As we can see, that is no longer so.

Nearly Nine Inches

I have to admit I was a bit impressed. With what looks like and I hope is the end of the Nashville monsoon, I went out and checked the rain gauge. With the first dry day in a week, the measurement was up to nine inches, just about three inches from overflowing. It really was a huge rain event, but thank goodness, this time I have heard of no flood fatalities. We could certainly use a few days of sunshine to dry out the marsh that used to be our lawn.

Time for Ark

My hometown of Nashville, Tennessee just experienced the wettest summer ever, breaking a record from the 1870s. I do not attribute this rain to anything man-caused. It was, like drought would also be, an act of God. Human hubris not withstanding, man is not as powerful as moon, or tides, or other planetary forces, or the sun itself. We, through science and manipulation may briefly affect local conditions, but nothing people do will cause as much change as a natural force like a major volcanic eruption. The good Lord did give us the tools though to adapt to changes in climate as they naturally occur through the centuries to this very day.

A Babbling Biden

At times during his effort at a UN speech, Joe Biden was incomprehensible. I wonder how the UN translators handled the murmuring portion. Many American Presidents have commanded respect at home and abroad. Incoherent Joe is at best eliciting pity.

Witnessing a Horror

I watched the Shia madmen of the Houthi militia slaughter nine likely completely innocent Sunnis. These eight men and one boy had likely not spied for anyone, though if you torture someone enough they will confess to anything. They were murdered, not because of any real crime, but because they were Sunni Muslim. While the "executions" took place the crowd of terrorists chanted in Arabic, "Death to America, death to Israel, death to the Jews", along with (of course) "God is great". These butchers would kill every male member of your family if you do not believe exactly as they do, be you another Muslim, Baha'i, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, agnostic, athiest, Jew, or anything other than a Shia End Time fanatic who would stand alongside them and root for the slaughter of the innocents. Then, they would enslave and rape your women and kill some of them too to keep the others in line. The civilized world including decent Muslims, even Shias who recognize this injustice as blood lust, should obliterate the mullahs that enslave Iran, the Iranian proxy so-called Party of God in Lebanon Hezbollah, and its sinister sister Hezbollah in Iraq along with the Mahdi Army, and these merciless Houthi gangsters.

Politics of Envy

John F Kennedy was a tax-CUTTER. If he was alive today, Kennedy would be considered a supply-sider. Today's DemocRAT Party rejects JFK's ideas in favor of socialism. In fact, Biden and Pelosi have just moved farther than socialism to embrace Marx. The putative leader of the United States and the Speaker of the US House of Representatives are now overtly Communist with their public rhetoric about the failures of capitalism. They are now appealing to the base and childish emotion of jealousy. They want every American to despise his neighbor if his neighbor happens to have greater wealth. I do not care what others are able to earn. All I ask is a fair opportunity to make my own way. Envy drove revolution and civil war in Russia and China and that ultimately led to grief, generations of tyranny, and many millions into early graves. We must banish the foreign notions leading us away from the Providential vision of our Founding Fathers.

For Home Defense

If you live in a condominium, apartment, or other densley populated area, I would suggest a .22 or a shotgun is well-suited to "home defense". If you have and must use an AR-15 to protect your family, the round you fire may well take down the assailant, but it may also go right through him and injure or even kill a neighbor. A shotgun might also be a decent choice as after a relatively short distance, the power of the pellets tends to diminish (presuming you are not firing slugs, which provide much more penetrating power than birdshot and even buckshot). Of course, the pellets also spread out which means you have to use extra caution in knowing your background if you must discharge your weapon. Of course, your great hope is the situation never arises that you have to protect yourself and your loved ones, but if you do, you must be prepared.

That Seems Fair

If, when he had power, Donald Trump denied ventilators to New York and California because those states did not vote for him but made some excuse that it would just not be "equitable" for the states where the most sick people are to be able to hoard such a scarce resource, would the media not rightly have pilloried him mercilessly until the policy was overturned? Of course they would have. Do you hear a peep in the mainstream media about Southern states, where most of the folks currently afflicted with Covid happen to be, that did not support Biden having their access to monoclonal antibodies greatly reduced in the interest of equity? This is not about public health but a poltical vendetta.

A Family Anecdote

My father told my mother that he "felt no psychological need" for pets in his life. Mom quickly disabused him of that, and they hardly ever were without a dog or dogs during their forty-eight (48) years of marriage. Thank goodness, she had (and has) some common sense.

Radical Breeding Ground

Too many US universities are not preparing people to contribute to America but to dismantle it. The students are not inculcated with critical thinking skills or expansive knowledge, but critical race theory and intersectional feminism. They may or may not leave college prepared for a career, but many of them are fully ready to deconstruct the United States.

The DemocRAT Party is the posterior of American politics. AOC is a boil on that bottom. How much sense does it make to attend a thirty thousand dollar per ticket event and then use that forum to attack the rich?

Guide to Success

Joe Biden is the perfect model for a Democrat. He has failed at virtually everything throughout his career yet advanced to ever higher positions. Now as a figurehead nominally in the highest position, he will destroy the nation as it was founded, and while doing so, take credit for all the "good" he is doing.

Officially Sanctioned Murder

Ashli Babbitt and Rosanne Boyland were extrajudicially murdered by their own government. There has been no justice for these "executed" women. Ashli Babbitt carried no weapon of any kind and had police behind her within arm's reach who could easily have pulled her back as she attempted to crawl through a broken window within the Capitol. There was absolutely no reason or justification to shoot her. Rosanne Boyland was clubbed down by a female officer and then trampled by a crowd the police pushed on top of her. Neither of these ladies deserved to die or should be dead. ANTIFA and BLM rioters have done far worse across this country in the last year and not only have not been killed but often not even been prosecuted when police detained them. These radicals have often been released without charge. Did Babbitt and Boyland deserve an arrest? Probably, Babbitt should have received a citation, at least, but she should not have been gunned down for an order offense. I do not even know if Boyland merited an indictment of any kind. She was a citizen standing outside her Capitol. The actions of authorities January 6 is what you would have expected from the Iranian Basij thugs, not from American police.

Surrender After Victory

The United States and our allies in Afghanistan won every battle against the jihadists. For whatever reason, Joe Biden decided to forfeit all the gains and pull out with our proverbial tail between our legs. There is a way to leave a conflict you have certainly not lost, preserving honor and dignity, but the Biden cabal chose not to do that. They gave a mighty arsenal to an enemy we had defeated, thereby reconstituting them as a deadly threat. We could be commemorating the 2001 terror massacre today with the Taliban clearly vanquished, but instead see our foes ascendant as we sulk away as a humiliated nation that has just invited instability and more attacks.

War on Logic

I am not a doctor or a scientist, but possess at least as much logic as the average Labrador Retriever. If the vaccines are effective, and you have taken your shot(s), why are you concerned if I have taken mine? Are you not protected by your inoculation? If the vaccines are working, why the reimposition of masks? If the masks work, what is the necessity of the vaccine? Why is natural immunity of those who recovered from Covid not even a consideration? If effective early treatment with a combination of drugs, monoclonal antibodies, and zinc greatly reduces mortality, and this has been known for months, why is this treatment denied to so many sufferers? If "horse dewormer" and chloroquine drugs with zinc were demonstrated to help patients early on in the pandemic, why was their use suppressssed and articles even mentioning them censored? Could it be that if a viable treatment had already existed, it would have been much harder to get emergency approval for the so-called "vaccines" that now seem to be losing their effectiveness?

I am certain Tom Brady is one of the greatest team sport players ever. I am not sure the greatest quarterback to suit up is flesh and bone. Perhaps, he is actually an alien among us. What he has done is simply superhuman.

How to Live

In life, either you contribute or you sponge. At some points, the same person may fall into either camp, but you do have some lifetime dole-dwellers who parasite off the rest of us and become a waste of space. We should all aspire to give more than we take, and some of us may even live up to it.

America Left Behind

Not only were Americans abandoned to the mercy of the Taliban in Afghanistan, common folks in the United States are being left to twist in the wind. We have just faced the highest ever gasoline prices on Labor Day, with domestic production in America all but shut down, largely due to the Biden jihad against American oil. We have employment numbers that do not reflect a robust recovery but a looming recession. Biden promised during his campaign to tame the Coronavirus. In the event, Covid tamed him, as Biden has presided the highest rate of infection yet encountered, actually more cases than Trump faced. Biden called his Afghanistan disaster a "success". Every action by the Biden cabal has been just as successful.

For the Worker

The celebration of Labor Day is great as far as it goes, but it must never be forgotten that there would not be workers in the United States were it not for employers. The Biden regime that won't build a wall on our Southern border is constructing a mountain of obstacles for business owners to overcome. At the same time, schemers are planning to impose thirty-six (36) or even thirty-two (32) hour work weeks to supposedly fix America's problem with unemployment. The problem is not that a forty (40) hour work week has deprived people jobs, or that by fiat, government can create employment. The problem is over-generous government benefits strip folks of their incentive to work. I see "hiring" signs all over Nashville. A shorter work week may indeed create more job openings, but will do nothing to make more willing bodies to fill those vacancies.

Planning to Fail

The woke US General Milley who guided the Afghanistan disaster said we had "planned" for that. I would have hated to see what happened if we hadn't.

Share the Misery

Socialism in its various iterations, including Communism, has never worked and will not ever raise the standard of living for the poor. You may well succeed in making the middle class (bourgeois)suffer and turning them destitute, even knocking the formerly wealthy into poverty, but how does that improve the lot of working people? They build walls around Communist countries, not to keep capitalists out, but to hold their enslaved populace captive. Joe Biden is bringing the stink of socialism to our shores, and he is betraying his oath and the US Constitution to do so.

Old Uncle Pike thought his mental faculties might be slipping a little. When he expressed this worry to Aunt Goldie, she told him fish was "brain food". True or not, when Uncle Pike fried himself up some salmon and dug in, he choked to death on a bone. For Pike at least, eating fish did not help.

Nothing But Scorn

When you steal an election, you deserve nothing but scorn. When as a Congressman, Senator, Vice President, or President in the US, you sell your office, you desrve nothing but scorn. When you arm atavistic murderers with some of the most powerful weapons in the world, you deserve nothing but scorn. When you leave allies, who you promised to protect, behind to be tortured and murdered, you deserve nothing but scorn. When you leave Americans in the hands of bloodthirsty jihadists, you desrve nothing but scorn. Joe Biden deserves nothing but scorn, ignominy, and removal from office.

Loss Without Defeat

The Taliban never won a battle against our brave forces. Our feckless usurper surrendered the field to enemies that could never defeat our troops. We earned victory with blood and treasure and gave the prize away to degenerate enemies, not just of America but of humanity.
