Prospect of Peace
On the anniversary of the worst attack ever against our homeland, let us assess the chance we have to call a halt to the war on terror. Afghanistan remains a bloody boiling point. Talks have been held with the murderous Taliban. These same Taliban shielded Osama bin Laden, even after his terror group launched the September 11, 2001 attacks. The Taliban sheltered and aided Osama before and after the massacre of thousands of innocents on American soil. I would say there can be no productive talks with the Taliban unless it is negotiating their surrender (which will not happen). The US and the civilized nations that stand with us must destroy the Taliban root and branch. Those in Pakistan who have aided and continue to aid the Taliban should similarly be annihilated, hopefully with the cooperation of the Pakistani government, but if necessary, without it. Only when al-Qaeda and their Taliban backers and their successor organization ISIS are wiped out will the war on terror be over.
