Not Necessarily Stupid

Many of Hillary's supporters think of themselves as being among the cognoscenti, and they may well be. Some of Clinton's supporters are professionally capable and talented. They also are willfully blind to Hillary's many faults. Her supporters engage in group-think- both in imagining virtues that Clinton does not possess and in vilifying Republicans. The GOP has to breathe the same air and drink the same water as everyone else and does not want to destroy the environment. Republicans have grandmothers too and do not want to push them off metaphoric cliffs. They only want to find better options for retirement needs than the insolvent Ponzi scheme Social Security has become. The mainstream press, the teachers unions and university-types, and Hollywood and Broadway are trying to shape everyone else's opinion and will vote for Hillary in droves because they are hidebound to tired progressive ideas that never have worked and never can work.
