In the Details
Ridding Syria of chemical weapons would certainly enhance stability in the Middle East, but the plan Russia has crafted to prevent an American attack will not be easy to implement. The Assad regime may play games and there already is a report circulating that Assadists have just transferred twenty trucks of chemical weapons to Iraq. The US can not rely on Russian assurances and must verify that Syria comply or American intervention may yet be in the offing.
