Dismantling Dad's America
In my Father's America, there was a certain stigma to those who, of their own accord, allowed themselves to become dependent on government. In Dad's heyday, jobs were there for the taking. In my Father's schooldays, God was in the classroom, it was safe to walk the streets, and people did not even have to lock their doors at night. Our current leader mocks that "black and white" era and wants to project nuance on every situation. America as she was founded is right. The Islamic Republic of Iran as conceived was wrong and is only growing more dangerous as her nuclear project advances. Dad knew falsehood when he heard it and at the Democrat Convention so recently concluded, I am certain my Father would have aptly declared, "That is a bunch of baloney".
