How Government Kills

On the morning the government disrupts the circadian rhythms of millions with the daylight savings' debacle, I read that the Obama administration is lifting a twenty year ban on AIDS patients entering the USA. Just as importing Gitmo terrorists jeopardizes our safety, a swarm of visitors might come to take advantage of our new public health care regime, knowing or learning that while non-citizens are nominally excluded, that no one is permitted to ask for residency or citizenship documents when someone is seeking medical assistance. Couple this with the fact that some of those entering may be none too careful, nonchalant in safer sex practices, or even a few who might maliciously attempt to infect Americans, this is one more Obama mistake, that is both costly and dangerous. Governments do not have to use the blunt instrument of execution or overtly practice political intimidation by way of systematic murder to threaten their own citizens. They may simply use political correctness or bending to an interest group to steal as they kill through negligence and stupidity. Importing patients with dire prognosis, the need for expensive treatment, and the potential to deliberately or accidentally expose others to the same illness does nothing to balance our budgets or enhance America's safety. Obama placates a few activists by causing expense and unnecessary risk for the rest of us.
