Bit of Flooding

We did not suffer another thousand year flood (yet), but Nashville did have some flooding. In the words of my six year old, "rain, rain go away". We do not need another Tennessee catastrophe.

Build the Ark

I pray my hometown of Nashville is not on the way to another flood. That is one more blow we do not need with COVID, a bombing, and the tornado from last March still to rebuild from, and a city that is starting to tire of having to bounce back.

Second Dose Worries

Several friends have had a much worse time with their second COVID puncture. Mom has not had a terrible time with the first (yet), but the next one scares us. If you refuse the second, you still have some protection from the first injection against the virus. I have little trepidation about time-tested vaccines but something with no long-term record leaves a lot of questions.

Wish Us Luck

Over the course of time, Mom has had a lot of health issues (as we all do if we are blessed enough to grow older). We followed our doctor's advice and were able finally to administer her first COVID vaccine injection, which happened to be Moderna. I pray it helps. I am not eligible yet but may take one as well because of lifelong respiratory issues. I do not like the idea of either of us being guinea pigs but am taking certain things as an article of faith as in the vaccines being both safe and effective.

Overturning Everything Trump

Maybe Trump made a few mistakes, but to my mind, those were mostly about being too strident on Twitter in his own defense and that of his subordinates. The new regime is determined to reverse eveything Trump did, even the many things that were good for the country and the people. Just because the Donald did it does not make it wrong. We will see how far and fast America falls with a senile usurper at the head of an anti-American cabal not at all interested in helping work-a-day folks but determined to completely erase the Trump legacy and our Founding values.

Where Are Snowmen

After one of the worst winter storms in Nashville history, we warmed up to over sixty degrees today. A lot of children here were diligently searching for the snowmen they made. I don't believe the kids will find them.

Storming the Bastille

Six disgusting members of the United States Supreme Court do not care if there was cheating in the election or even if the Presidency (and the nation that goes with it) was stolen. In fact, they do not want to know and more importantly don't want you to know if the vote was fair and square. To them, it is of little consequence if socialism is imposed on a public that does not want it and that the Constitution they are sworn to uphold is overturned. I am in no way confident that we will ever have a free and fair election for a Federal office again in the United States.

Finally Some Green

I saw grass in my West Nashville yard today for the first time in over a week. Snow and a heavy layer of ice blanketed everything, making it worth your life to walk your dog (I fell three times during the days of tundra attempting this fool's errand. I am the fool not my Keeshond, sixteen year old Bru). I even managed a fourth fall trying to scrape the ice from one of our gas guzzling SUVs. I still see plenty of ice in shaded areas, so I advise folks to be extra careful out there. The last few days have been an orthopedic surgeon's dream here in Tennessee, drumming up an abundance of business.

On American Policing

Many members of US law enforcement are neither well-trained nor particularly competent. They seem to escalate situations that too often end in needless death. They also are quick to use firearms when less lethal force could have ended the threat. When someone ends up dead at the hands of cops for the crime of "jaywalking", it is a hallmark of deficient and excessive policing. I do not expect every officer to be a superman, but they must all be trained sufficiently in hand to hand combat that they will not have their guns taken away when grappling with a suspect. They should be trained to fire only as a last resort, and if at all possible to employ mace, Taser, beanbag round, or even riot baton first. They do not need to kill desperately mentally ill or drugged up people who would have not had to die if police contained their desire to shoot somebody. I remember an incident years ago in my hometown of Nashville where a policeman having a personal crisis was permitted to fire numerous rounds in a crowded neighborhood near schools, churches, and day care centers because none of his colleagues wanted to take him down. Police almost never show that kind of restraint with anyone else. Law enforcement agencies also need to do more extensive psychological testing in the hiring process and then periodically during employment as work-related stress mounts. Bullies and sadists need to weeded out of departments. With proper allocation of resources and better instruction, American police could be the best in the world.

Feet of Clay

I am the opposite of perfect. I am flawed and a sinner. I have never met an infallible person and never will. To those dancing on the grave of Rush Limbaugh, highlighting his prescription drug addiction, why would you not celebrate the way Rush was able to overcome it rather than using the hurdle he faced as a way to smear him? Glenn Beck is thankfully still living and I pray will be broadcasting for a long time to come and you tar him for his former substance abuse. You must be pretty flawless with all that mud you throw but to those watching your antics now, you look like you need a shower.

The Funeral Detractors

A bunch of vipers are insulting the memory of Rush Limbaugh and the millions who enjoyed his broadcasts. Most of them will never be remembered while Rush will still be a houshold name. Even in death, Rush eclipses those who are trying to sully his greatness. They are gnats attempting to annoy the largest bull elephant. The magnificent pachyderm did not even give them notice and neither should we.

The voice of reason resounding over the airways and through the ages. It will never be duplicated or replaced.

King of Talk

Rush Hudson Limbaugh III has died. He was the man who saved AM radio. Even stricken with the cancer that ultimately claimed him, Rush tried to save America, and would have succeeded had it not been for the great cheat. Limbaugh was the voice of liberty and an inspiration for millions. We will never hear his like again.

Heat Is On

Freezing in your own home is not the only danger with wind power. What happens when it is hovering around one hundred degrees in the summer and the air is stagnant? People with heart trouble and respiratory issues will die from the heat when those windmills do not turn.

The Turbine Froze

Sure enough, the wind turbines were knocked out by the winter storm in West Texas. Think how practical wind or solar power are in the winter in Minnesota or Alaska. If you want a lot of folks to die of exposure in their own homes, push for "environmentally-friendly" energy.

Electricity Saves Lives

If you do not have reliable power, food spoilage may kill you. Cold weather may take you out. The winter storm ravaging the country will kill people. The death toll would be vastly higher if all we had was solar and wind generated power to rely on now. Nuclear power is reliable but anathema to the Left. Natural gas and coal-fired plants are literally keeping people alive through this dangerous winter, but if the Biden gang has its way, a lot of folks are going to die needlessly because they no longer have reliable heat on days like this.

Weakness Invites Aggression

The usurper must want a war with Red China because he was dumb enough to declare that "China will eat our lunch" in any coming conflict. That is projecting helplessness that just invites our enemies to attack us while we are down.

A Disaster Zone

If the Biden cabal fouls America up fast enough, maybe the illegal aliens will not even try to enter the United States. If things are failing just as badly here as in Venezuela, why bother to even head this way? Perhaps American boat people will try sneaking into Mexico when the bread lines stretch for miles in California.

Beacon of Liberty

Evil is on the march across the world and under the Biden cabal, the United States has joined the parade. Instead of being the storehouse of freedom, America is now just one big abortion-funding, perversion-pushing mess. And it happened within days. Will we ever get the nation our Founders envisioned back?

The Soviet Kangaroo

Back in the Stalin days, some unfortunate folks were subjected to show trials before their executions (read as murder by the state). The outcome of these judicial proceedings was predetermined. They were about as fair as the farce of a case that former President Trump is facing. Every Republican that goes along with this travesty should be primaried out.

Must Stand Together

The cabal running the country is working against the interests of the people. The mainstream and social media are scheming against the interests of ordinary Americans. Big business by in large and the tech titans have the common man in their sights, particularly if he happens to be white, Christian, or conservative. With all this lined up against us, if we try to go it alone, we will be erased. We must have each other's back, or we will lose our rights and quite possibly our lives.

A Fair Count

If you think the Presidential vote tally was fair and accurate, you think professional wrestling is real. If you think one in a trillion probabilities happened without manipulation in this election, then you need to have your head examined. I will never consider the imposter in the Oval Office anything beyond the figurehead leader of an evil and destructive cabal.

Gun Confiscation Coming

The cabal that stole our nation also wants to seize our guns. You know these are the elite that walk around with a phalanx of armed security, often at our expense. They want to deny us the right to protect our families and leave us at the mercy of criminals. Right now, they have thousands of the troops we pay for guarding them, but they are determined that we can not protect ourselves. They actually hope there are some early resistors who they can make a Branch Davidian/ Ruby Ridge example of to intimidate the rest of us. Thay will be coming hard and fast and there will be absolutely nothing any individual American can do to stop them.

Just a Thought

If the election was above board, why are election officials fighting so hard to prevent any audits? If you have nothing to hide, you are happy to have others look.

The Roadkill Squirrel

To all those feeding Fido or Fifi an expensive organic doggie diet, most of our little angels are not as finicky as you think. It is one thing if your vet instructs you that you must feed your canine this particular way and quite another if you are just doing it to indulge your own ego. We had a dying dog a couple of decades back and a holistic vet who would literally sell us gold for his diet (a prescription pet food with gold as an ingredient). One day when we were leaving the practice one of the patients on the same expensive diet nearly got hit by a car trying to devour a flattened squirrel near the edge of the street. That poodle would certainly eat hand selected filet but would also go to town on a pile of cat poop.

The Golden Egg

Many folks want to move to my hometown of Nashville because they have heard the quality of life is so good. Housing is relatively cheap and there is no congestion. Well, the more of you who move here drive home prices and aparment rents up and crowd our roads with ever increasing traffic jams. And too many of you vote for the same policies that pushed you away from wherever you came from. Do me a favor- move to Atlanta instead- they will never even notice you are there.

Overrun with Vermin

The political class is now infested with progressives, socialists, and Marxists and even those politicians that are not radicals are all too often only there to protect their own perks and the Deep State that upholds them. The number of officials who are there to truly represnt and protect the people are pitifully few. Those running our country now are not just anti-Trump, they are anti-American and anti-freedom.

The February Follies

Every month under the Biden cabal will be a real adventure. We will be enduring the Chinese curse of living in "interesting times". There will be such abuse of power that we will yearn for the days when the pandemic was our biggest problem. We will surely have more to worry about from our own government than ever in US history.

The Square Deals

If we have honest elections, the people win. If we have a level playing field in stock markets, work-a-day Americans can win. If we have authorities telling us the truth about COVID, people have the chance to make the right, informed decisions about their health and that of their families. I am not confident the public is getting the straight scoop or a fair deal in any of these circumstances.
