When Leisure Suits
Today, there is no stigma attached to dwelling on the dole. Nineteen million more Americans are on Food Stamps now than when Barack Hussein Obama came into office. Unemployment checks have been extended from fifty-two to ninety-nine weeks at various times during the Obama administration. Even a government-provided cellular phone helped Obama retain his throne. As government penalizes saving and imposes disincentives to earning by raising taxes and keeping interest rates artificially low, and stifles start-up business with ever-increasing regulation and now even pushes for an Internet sales tax, government is making the ideal American a welfare mother, on AFDC and EBT carrying her Obama phone back to her air-conditioned subsidized housing that we also are paying for through our government-confiscated earnings.

They Are Animals
In this fable, let us suppose that an oil-rich kingdom had a Western-educated fellow who wanted to open a petting zoo to introduce that nation's youngsters to animals in a positive way. Then let us pretend after a few years of operation, the zookeeper experienced what he thought was a miracle when he had a nanny goat pass away during kidding but had a camel who had lost its own baby, adopt and raise said kid and made the mistake of publicizing the event. Let us then say that the branch of morality police known as the "Authority for Promotion of Virtue and Suppression of Vice" heard of the perverse Dr. Moreau, who had so wickedly species spliced by helping a tiny baby goat thrive, had his petting zoo closed, his menagerie slaughtered (after all, they had been exposed to such an evil), and was charged, tortured, given a kangaroo trial complete with conviction for the offense of "sorcery", and beheaded in a public square. These purely fictional events could never happen in this enlightened day and age . . . right? If you have a weak stomach, do not put "sorcerer beheaded" into a search engine.

Clever on Sunday
Barack Hussein Obama, the national Democrat establishment, and their handmaiden main stream media have once again managed to turn logic on its head and have the blame for the air travel slowdown, supposedly forced by sequester, clearly redound to the Republican Party. This is in spite of the fact that Obama himself proposed and formulated the sequester. That the Democrats voice of manipulation is so strong and the GOP's self-defense so weak is absolutely astounding. Maybe, the current crop of Democrats are just that much smarter than the current leadership of the national Republican Party.

Not Playing Opossum
George Jones, known to many of his fans as "Possum", died yesterday in my hometown of Nashville, Tennessee and will be sorely missed. He was a country music institution, a legend on a par with Johnny Cash. Jones was a bridge between eras, thrilling listeners at the end of the era of stars like Eddy Arnold, whose record of hits to reach the country music charts Jones would eventually eclipse, to being an icon to the superstars of country music today, still able to fill venues just before his passing, as Jones was preparing for what was prophetically being called his farewell tour in his last days. George Jones colorful presence will be missed but his voice will resound for generations to come.

Idea for Syria
Presuming reports are correct that the Assad regime has used WMD against the Syrian people, why not provide the free Syria opposition with NBC suits, gas masks, and antidotes for themselves and civilians in the areas that they control, along with training (perhaps carried out in Turkey and/or Jordan) in how to use them? This protective apparatus can never be turned against the West and the nations the West supports as weapons aid to the rebels could be, yet, this non-lethal help could turn the tide and help replace Assad with leaders who might respect human rights.

A Predictable Outcome
The surviving Boston bomber lawyered-up, and to the surprise only of idiots, immediately clammed-up. Do we not all feel better that society is footing the bill for public defenders who are not in the least concerned that their able representation of their client may enable the next terrorist outrage by associates of the bomber brothers who would have been outed if interrogation was carried out uninterrupted?

A Dictatorial Disposition
Throughout history, many leaders who have acquired power have adopted a dictator's impulse. Now, even New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg seeks to be a benevolent guide to good health and happiness by infringing on our human rights and personal decisions. His latest initiative to protect us from ourselves is to raise the age for cigarettes to twenty-one(21). The billionaire mayor is by no means alone in his reach. There are nannies, ninnies, gun-banners, and freedom-grabbers of many stripes trying to tear down liberty a bit at a time. Always remember Lord Acton's admonition that "power corrupts . . . and absolute power corrupts absolutely".

Mosque Is State
America exists today as a republic with a separation of church and state. As minarets rise across the Western world and churches and synagogues close due to dwindling attendance, we have self-proclaimed liberals in the United States and Europe insisting on protecting the religious liberty of Muslims. Each of the primarily Muslim nations recently liberated or throwing off an old oppressor, from Egypt and Libya with their Arab Spring to Afghanistan and Iraq which American and Allied blood freed, has chosen government which predicates all law on Islam. They have all become Sharia states because government and Islamic law are one and the same in the view of the most committed believers in Islam and these true believers will gladly use our civil liberties and our concept of pluralistic democracy to impose their will and eventually Islamic law on all of us.

Delusions of Candor
If you think you are privy to everything the government knows about the bombers, you are deluding yourself. If you believe you have heard the "whole truth" from the main stream media, I have a bridge to sell you. Anyone who suggests that anything but Islamism was central to the perpetrators is engaged in willful self-delusion.

Making Him Talk
Finding out if the Boston bombers are part of a larger conspiracy is vastly more important than due process rights of the surviving terrorist. Whether he is read his rights pales in comparison to the possible damage that might ensue if just one more confederate of these murderers sets off a bomb at a crowded public event. Seeing justice done is still obviously important, but the priority now of law enforcement and the US intelligence community must be to do whatever it takes to deter future attacks.

Jihadist Next Door
The surviving bomber is in custody. He did not go out in a blaze of glory as would be expected in a so-called "martyrdom operation" but surrendered in an attempt to preserve his life. These terrorists are craven cowards who first murdered the innocent and defenseless, before the cold-blooded assassination of a campus police officer who was not given any chance when felled by their sneak attack. There was no nobility or heroism in the carnage they inflicted, but only in the way the good and decent people of Massachusetts and law enforcement rallied to put an end to the terror.

In Our Faces
The identity of the Boston bombers is known. One terrorist is dead while his brother remains at large. These cold-blooded murderers are apparently brothers who came to America as refugees from Chechnya. These betrayers accepted American sanctuary and hospitality only to stab us in the back. The surviving perpetrator is reported by Boston's NBC 7 as being Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev pictured here:

A Saudi Cover-up
Jason Howerton on The Blaze is reporting that there may have been involvement by at least one Saudi Arabian national in the Boston bombings. The claim may be seen here: http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/04/18/report-saudi-national-ruled-out-as-suspect-in-boston-marathon-bombings-to-be-deported-on-national-security-grounds-next-week/. If any participation by Saudi government in either the bombing or abetting the flight of the perpetrators is ferreted out, Saudi Arabia mus be held to account.
God Bless Texas
Tragedy has struck the United States once again with the town of West, Texas devastated by a fertilizer plant explosion. The tally of casualties remains unclear as more than a dozen people are at this point unaccounted for, but at least five and possibly seven emergency personnel, who responded to fight the initial fire that triggered the blast, have already been confirmed dead. Americans are a determined people who will not permit the recent tragedies to shake their faith, but in such a time of testing, we will call out to the Lord.

Our Guard Down
Obviously, intelligence and security forces were not able to prevent the Boston bombing. While many attempted terror attacks have been successfully interdicted since September 11, 2001, no nation including the United States is able to counter every threat. Those that would perpetrate terror are creative, resourceful, resilient and more intelligent than we want to believe they are. They will continually test our defenses, and sadly, occasionally, those with murder in their hearts will succeed.

An Ugly Business
The murder trial of an abortionist is underway in Philadelphia. The accused, a doctor named Kermit Gosnell, has enriched himself to the tune of millions of dollars over the years by reputedly making sure more than fifty thousand human infants never had the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine of day, but what this physician is on trial for is the spine-severing murder of several of those babies who were born alive and the death of a putative mother in his care. Regardless of how these charges are eventually adjudicated, any industry built by killing the innocent is purely evil.
The Rational Emergency
Americans must not allow the second Boston Massacre to alter their lives. If you change your plans based on yesterday's events, you will be giving the terrorists their victory. Just as in the debate on gun rights, reason must prevail. In such a time of strife, the goal of leadership must be to create a unity of purpose to vanquish those who would attack us while preserving as much individual liberty as possible. Perhaps a new national motto could be:"Stay calm and soldier on."

Horror in Boston
The Boston Marathon has evidently been attacked by terrorists causing unimaginable carnage of the innocent. The United States must find and destroy those who perpetrated these heinous acts. Every lover of liberty is a Bostonian today.

No Rational Motivation
Just as mobilization insanely forced the First World War after the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, North Korean bluster may cause a war that no nation will profit from, and from which North Korea will suffer the most. Miscalculation and hubris have too often caused the unthinkable in human history. Let us pray that the situation in Pyongyang does not outpace reason.

A Moral Leader?
The current mis-leader of the cult of personality that is North Korea indulges himself while his people starve. Kim Jong-un is the latest patrilineal cartoon villain to afflict the pitiable people of North Korea. These despotic Kims claim no divine right of kings to enforce their madness but rule under a state-sponsored doctrine called "Juche", which is an admixture of leader worship and (at least in its early incarnation) Marx-inspired fanaticism masquerading as the guiding principle of self-reliance. To have the so-called civilized world on tenterhooks based on the whim of a spoiled thirty year old pot-bellied princeling shows just how weak the will of the law-abiding nations has become.

Go Along Doggies
Why would the Republican Speaker of the US House of Representatives John Boehner not use his clout to block gun control legislation in the way that Sam Rayburn and later Thomas P. (Tip) O'Neill blocked initiatives they disagreed with from ever reaching the House floor? How come a GOP majority in Congress never seems to be able to accomplish as much as the Democrats do when they are in control or even block what the GOP's most loyal conservative supporters find outrageous? Is it because most of Republican politicians want to get along with their Democrat colleagues and stay out of the way of flack coming at them from the mainstream press or because they never were sincere about being conservative when they ran to the right in primaries or in conservative areas of America, in general elections, or do the current crop of Republican Congressmen generally just have no backbone?

As I Say
I can not recall more blatant hypocrisy than exists among today's ruling progressives. These limousine liberals include many Democrats but are by no means confined within that party. Independents like New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg and Republicans like John McCain certainly fit the bill. How could American voters reelect Congressmen and Senators who exempted themselves from the Affordable Care Act (called Obama Care generally, including on this forum) that they forced on the rest of us? Why would common folk surrender their guns to people who will always retain access to their own phalanx of gun-toting security for themselves and their loved ones? Ordinary Americans are now under the thumb of masters who say "do as I say and not as I do . . . or else."

Gun Grabber Paradise
Some Judas politicians who supposedly supported the Second Amendment are carefully scheming their sellout of our natural right of self-defense. Pennsylvania's Pat Toomey, a Republican, who pretended in his campaign to be a conservative, and West Virginia's Joe Manchin, who claimed he would fight to uphold gun rights in his campaigns, are betraying those voters who took them at their word that they would guard our Constitutional protections. Toomey and Manchin are advancing Barack Hussein Obama's freedom-stealing agenda by pushing their "universal background check compromise". Our ruling class is determined to give the President at least partial victory in the anti-gun push to preserve Obama's political viability, because the elites believe it really is us against them and they need to reinforce their prerogatives of power over the masses to control we mere common folk who do not have round-the-clock bodyguards and must pray we preserve Bill of Rights freedom for the safety of our own families.

Really Displaying Initiative
It seems a Minnesota airport worker has instituted his own gun control regimen to go along with the efforts of progressives to take our gun rights from us. David Vang, age twenty-three, is alleged to have pilfered firearms in passengers' checked bags. The story can be found at a Fox News link here: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/04/09/employee-at-minneapolis-st-paul-airport-charged-with-stealing-guns-from/.

Adieu Margaret Thatcher
The last of the three beacons of freedom incarnate has passed from this mortal coil. These guardians of the worth of the individual and warriors for liberty were Pope John Paul II, US President Ronald Wilson Reagan, and Prime Minister of Great Britain Margaret Thatcher. What a happy circumstance that these three giants in the fight for the rights of man were in public life together at the same time they could do the most good for human kind, and how sad it is that no one carries that legacy on in today's world of politics.

Iran Is Emboldened
Seeing America and her allies hesitating to deal seriously with threats emanating from Pyongyang, Iran's leaders must be confident that no substantive action will be taken to block the mullahs from gaining their atomic bomb. The world does not have an appetite to confront an outlaw nation that already ignored global protestation to arm up, that being North Korea, so Iran's primary target Israel must realize the only barrier between Tel Aviv and nuclear destruction is preemption by the IDF.

Town Is Toast
If North Korea launches a strike on US interests or a nuclear attack on anyone, I would expect Pyongyang to be completely obliterated. This totalitarian personality-cult fairyland city will simply cease to be if Kim Jong-un carries out his threats. I still do not expect North Korea's current dynastic despot to start a war because such a foolish act would compromise Kim Jong-un's prospect of personal survival. All he needs do is look at what happened to Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi to know there would be no impunity for such precipitous aggression.

Targeting the Elderly
Barack Hussein Obama wants to cut Social Security and means test Medicare. This is after he has already looted Medicare to pay for a portion of the Affordable Care Act (generally referred to here as "Obama Care"). A premise of Obama Care, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel's Complete Lives System is being implemented to ration care and will be the basis of denying America's elders the medical treatment they need to survive. In addition to these war on the weak measures, the elderly have been punished further by economic and fiscal policies that deny depositors any real interest on their lifetime savings. Democrats claim to be the advocates for US seniors but with friends like these, our older generation has plenty to fear.

A United Front
So long as the United States of America, South Korea, and Japan maintain their resolve to thwart aggression from North Korea, any attack emanating from Pyongyang will likely be deterred. It would also be helpful if China publicly declares that they will not protect their North Korean ally should the North attempt to launch a first strike. With Communist China experiencing unprecedented prosperity, no advantage would accrue to the Red Chinese if North Korea starts a war.

Not Bobby Knight
The basketball coach at Rutgers University evidently had some explosive outbursts and was filmed abusing some of his players. I had never even heard of this particular coach. Bob Knight won multiple championships, launched a coaching tree of other champions, most notably Mike Krzyzewski, and shaped Hall of Fame players like Isiah Thomas. Mike Rice is no Bob Knight but merely a mediocre coach at Rutgers who does not seem to have achieved much beyond making a spectacle of himself.

Exploring the Brain
Barack Hussein Obama is launching a hundred million dollar project to map the human mind. Vice President Joe Biden should volunteer to be the test subject so the study is completed unbelievably quickly.

Stockton Augurs Ill
Stockton, California has just declared bankruptcy, which does not portend well for the rest of America. Many cities and some states face a similar plight because unlike the Federal government, our cities and states can not print their own money. Real debt can never be paid off with fiat currency and this bodes ill for us all.
