The Iranian Elections

Much of the world is breathlessly awaiting the outcome of the Iranian elections. There is hope in the West that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be unseated and Iran will move back from the brink in the nuclear confrontation. First, no matter who wins the election, the mullahs who actually control Iran will not abandon the nascent atomic project as it has become a matter of pride for the Iranian nation (and many of the clerics share Ahmadinejad's belief in ushering in the Mehdi by creating the chaos of the end times). Second, Ahmadinejad will almost surely win as educated, cosmopolitan Iranians who oppose him are widely outnumbered by Ahmadinejad's ill-educated, fanatic supporters. War between Israel, which can not afford to risk their survival on the wishy-washy West and now on America's leader who has suddenly pulled the carpet out from under the Jewish state, which has been left to Iran's devices by her erstwhile allies and whose very existence is at risk, is all but inevitable.

On the March

Two forces are thriving at the moment. Jihad, from the Taliban surge in Pakistan to resurgent bombings in Iraq, across other parts of the globe where Islamism rears its violent head, and socialism which dominates Europe and is through Obamism, capturing America. Citi and Bank of America may need more capital despite an already $45 billion bailout. Chrysler is, as was predicted here, going to be taken over largely by the United Auto Workers, and GM may well be on the way to nationalization. The Obama administration imposes the socialism and hardly even pays lip service to blocking aggressive expansionist Islam. With the Islamic bomb of Pakistan potentially falling into the hands of the Taliban and al Qaeda and with Iranian fanatics rushing to produce their own atomic weapon, the world is in as perilous state as in any time since World War II. And with Obama overturning free market capitalism and supplanting it with an admixture of Marx and neo-fascism and using each crisis for tactical advantage, we have no prospect of recovery.

Comes the Reckoning

Israel is becoming increasingly certain that Obama's America and the rest of the world will do nothing to thwart Iran's genocidal intentions. Israel is rightly preparing as if she will have to face the Islamic Republic alone. Israelis are worried; Iranians should be. The Israelis are not planning a pinpoint precision strike like the one that took out Saddam's nuclear capacity at Osirak. The Iranian program is too diffuse and well-defended to have a surgical strike work. Israel's strategic planners are going to destroy the atomic plants, the retaliatory capacity, the Revolutionary Guards; the military will be targeted generally as will much of Iran's industrial capacity including her power grid. Israel will initiate a massive first strike with cruise missiles launched from diesel submarines acquired from Germany. Iran will see the end time for herself if she does not relent from her nuclear ambitions.

America Goes Begging

After going to our NATO allies hat in hand, seeking help in Afghanistan and being rebuffed, Obama is now being turned away by the UN as he seeks sanctions against North Korea. To ask a body that cheered End time Islamist messianist Mahmoud Ahmadinejad when he spoke then announced he felt God speaking to him on the stage and loudly applauded Hugo Chavez when he said Bush had left the odor of sulfur behind, is demeaning the nation yet again. For the last superpower to ask for the tender mercies of Sudan and Libya is ridiculous. The UN long since should have been asked to leave New York and be sent packing to Geneva. A confederacy of willing, like minded democracies should have replaced it during the Cold War when it became a debating society and forum to side with the Soviets and have so-called non-aligned nations which were mostly puppets of the Reds act as if they were equals of the US and serve as a constant nuisance and financial burden to America all the while thwarting collective action that would have advanced justice. Asking a body of tyrannies to help on any international concern is fool hearty and counterproductive. A body dominated by the bad will never do good and only a moron or patsy would ask them.

Government for War

The nation of Israel under the leadership of Prime Minister-designate Benyamin Netanyahu is forming the coalition required to govern Israel's Knesset-a fractious parliament. Netanyahu is building a broad government including what some would say is the incompatible leftist Labor party. The Labor party is led by Ehud Barak, a great military hero, former prime minister, and current defense minister. Barak is serious about the security of Israel. Even if he has made less than perfect decisions in the past, Barak knows the Iran nuclear threat poses an existential danger. Atomic Iran is forcing strange bedfellows in Israel, and the situation in Middle East is about to reach the boiling point. This coalition is constructed to defeat Iran and within months, before Russia deploys the S-300 in Iran, it will hit critical mass. No matter what Obama says and the current of world opinion, the new Israeli leaders will not tolerate Iran attempting nuclear genocide.

Iran Threatens World

Iran launched a satellite today. This achievement could be heralded by some as the triumph of technology and indigenous industry by a developing nation. Those who don't wear rose-colored glasses will leave Pollyannaville long enough to see the menace in Iran's actions. Iran, a nation gripped by economic dislocation, is devoting huge amounts of resources on the science of war. The Mullahs and Ahmadinejad are spending like there is no tomorrow-apropos of end-timers, on weapons programs or dual-use (both civil and military uses are possible) technologies. Iran has had the ready-assistance of North Korea, of Pakistan, of Red China, of Russia, and disturbingly of France and Germany to develop various aspects of these systems that don't merely threaten Israel and Iran's Arab neighbors but extend Iran's offensive capabilities to threaten Europe itself. Can a nation with the declared intention of wiping Israel off the map have many qualms about lobbing a WMD-tipped missile at a city in a NATO nation because that nation stood in solidarity with the Jews? Iran will not be deterred by words or sanctions. She is developing wonder weapons with the intention of using them to fulfill the belligerent rhetoric that has emanated from Tehran since the Shah fell, but it is not too late to stop the theocrats and the bearded mad man.

The Second Front

Missiles rained once again on the civilian populace in Israel. Ominously, they did not fall only on Sderot and the region abutting Gaza but fell all the way across the country after being fired from Lebanon. Israeli strategic planners no doubt anticipated this contingency. This could well be the nasty handiwork of Hizbullah and could have been coordinated by the merchants of menace in Tehran. If Iran has a nuclear warhead ready and a viable delivery system, they may use it soon and test the new President as he never imagined.

Good Time Party

Kadima, the corrupt governing party of Israel, is saber-rattling and may finally enter the Gaza Strip to end the ceaseless Kassam rocket threat that has plagued the border area, particularly Sderot. This would be a crass, cynical political manipulation of the Israeli electorate right before the coming national election in which the more conservative Likud party was expected to gain power. If the Israeli body politic does not recognize that Tzipi Livni is only hawkish now for political effect, they will empower this party which has made Gaza Judenrein, to attempt the same with the West Bank perhaps even parts of Jerusalem. A Zion free of Jews might be the ultimate result of keeping Kadima which is well-versed in political games in a position to negotiate the piecemeal disassembly of the Jewish state. Nor does Livni possess the Thatcherite iron to face down or actually remove the Iranian nuclear existential threat.

Israel's Active Capitulation

Hamas ends its so-called truce and pounds the Jewish state with a Kassam and mortar barrage. Terrorists hurl missiles, Israel returns rhetoric. Israel's leaderless leaders have allowed puny Islamist murderers from Gaza and Lebanon to claim victory for far too long. A state with the resources but not the national will to use them to defeat this threat is likely doomed to the greater existential threat of Iran. Even if Iran is stopped, Israel may fall to pan-Islamism under the weight of her own corruption. President Katsav, Prime Minster Olmert, and even Minister Hiam Ramon have all come under criminal charges. A country as small and vulnerable as Israel even lost some of the small amount of international support she enjoyed due to the Madoff scandal. A nation that readily dispossesses Jews from near Hebron's Tomb of the Patriarchs, but permits a sustained terrorist bombardment from Gaza will soon perish.

Recrimination and Regret

The author is dismayed to report the ascendancy of our leftist leader. He gratuitously included homosexuals in tonight's remarks supporting my contention in this blog that he intends to overturn traditional morality by force of law. He pretends inclusion, but his victory portends at the least, the marginalization of those with religious values who would bridle at the idea of gay marriage and privileges in employment for the practitioners of this profligate lifestyle. According to ABC's Brian Ross, Obama and his national security team (a sad oxymoron) intend a hasty draw down in Iraq to focus on Bin Laden. Bin Laden is a figurehead in whose name acts of terror will only increase if he is martyred or caught. The real enemy is expansionist Islam whether in its Sunni Wahhab incarnation or Iranian Shia form. Obama offers no answers either domestically or abroad, only demagogic platitudes and chants of collective delusion and hysteria. "Yes we can" bankrupt the Treasury, destroy business, and invite attack. God save America.

Iran's Suicide Bombers

Iran has of late threatened to attack the US. The author does not dismiss this as an empty threat from what Obama has characterized as a "tiny" country. I well remember the humiliation of America at the hands of the Islamic Republic. Remarks by Khamanai and Larijani must be regarded with the utmost seriousness. Senator McCain will not be cowed by the threats of fanatic theocrats and unapologetic terror sponsors. He will stop them. Obama has promised he will negotiate with them without precondition. Which candidate do you trust with the safety of your family?
