New Volunteer Coach

For the Tennessee Vols football team to lose at home to Vanderbilt is a disgrace. To drop a bowl game afterwards in our home state is shameful. Is that the level of performance Tennessee is paying big money for- to lose, lose, lose- which has traditionally been Vanderbilt's path with vastly less resources and dollars devoted to the Vandy program? Maybe it is time for the fat boy who used to be a quarterback for Oklahoma to go back and coach Sooners.

A Bummer Year

When those you care about are seriously ill, it saps the joy right out of living. It is bad to lose a pet or have a home burglary, but try having those things accompanied by someone close to you trying really hard not to die. 2026 might b e better, but there are no guarantees.

Making Such Progress

The Tennessee Titans will likely not have the first draft pick again as the Raiders seemingly worked mighty hard to lose even more games than Tennessee. The Titans did not suddenly turn contenders but managed three huge wins, with potentially one more on the way, out of seventeen regular season games. If a Cardinal had not fumbled what looked like a sure touchdown that would have clinched another Titan defeat, the Titans would have matched the Las Vegas level of futility, but it looks like the silver and black have genuinely reached the nadir this season.

Religion of Pieces

Practitioners of that certain faith do not just cut off heads, but hands and legs, gouge out eyes, remove tongues as religiously appropriate punishments. These are NOT atrocities practiced in ancient and benighted times but to this very day, and I have not mentioned stonings nor the mass killing of dogs, deemed unclean animals. So this "religion" did not abandon these cruelties to the Dark Ages but is happy to inflict them on you and your family should you deviate from what they perceive to be the path of righteousness. I am all for pluralism and tolerance for folks that return those virtues back.

The Peaceful Religion

You know I have never heard of an Amish suicide bomber. I have never witnessed a Quaker carrying out a mass casualty shooting. In fact, the perpetrators of these attacks normally happen to come from a particular faith group. That religion, which I will not mention at this point, is known as the fastest growing on earth, but who would rather fight than switch, when these devout folks will slowly cut your head off or rape your daughters in front of you to convince you that their way is the right path to take. Most people valuing survival will join the winning side if that means grotesque violence will not be visited on them and those they love.

Great Tight End

Travis Kelce may have just played his final home game. Obviously, if he wants to retire, he will, but even at this late stage in his career, he led Kansas City in receiving and was a force blocking throughout the contest. He will go down with Ozzie Newsome, Kellen Winslow Sr,, Russ Francis, Dave Casper, Tony Gonzalez, and Rob Gronkowski as one of the all-time great tight ends. He is still a dominant force and could play additional seasons, should he decide to continue competing.

A Christmas Wish

Typically, the Christmas hope is for peace. With Christians and others perceived to be "infidels" around the world being murdered by Islamists, it is my prayer for the upcoming year that right and righteousness completely defeat jihadist aggression in the coming months and eradicate the scourge of Islamism across our globe. Victory over this evil counts more than peace.

Under Global Attack

Jews are under siege all over the world. Those with any awareness are taking precautions, but who thinks a community event in a pluralistic democracy will have hardly any armed security provided by lawful authorities? Who would have come to a Jewish event in Bondi expected to draw more than a thousand attendees, if they knew only four armed police would be standing guard? Who would think an ordinary bus or subway ride would lead to singled out and assaulted in the city with the largest Jewish population? Who would guess a Cypriot vacation might lead to the loss of an eye? We are living in pogrom and Farhud time, just trying to stave off a second Shoah, but my Christian friends, look to Nigeria and Christmas markets closed or turned into fortresses across Europe, and realize Jews are not the sole or last target.

Depend on Rivers

A decade ago, before his initial retirement from professional football, Philip Rivers was one of the more reliable quarterbacks in the game. He was never much of a threat to run, but in the passing game, he made quick reads and accurate throws. He retired and was back coaching high school football for several years, but was summoned back by Colts in need. Rivers still sees the field well and reads the defense magnificently, but his throws lack the pinpoint accuracy that marked his former career. He is clearly picking out the most open receiver, but the ball is not always where it needs to be and where it likely would have been before he took an extended hiatus from playing the game. I do not accept the joke though that it is now "Depends on Rivers", as in adult diapers. Philip still has a great mind for football, but his body is not quite where it once was.

Growing the Pie

The DemocRATS want to divvy up everything folks have or earn pretty much evenly, reserving the best and most for themselves and their close cronies of course. The Republicans want to to increase prosperity across the board believing a rising sea lifts all Americans delivering better outcomes for every proverbial boater. The GOP wants to grow the pie that helps us all rather than carve up the little pieces we already have to give to those who have a little less.

Unmerited Playoff Invitations

Tulane played nobodies except Ole Miss in the regular season, and the Rebels handed them their heads in non-conference play and again in the playoff. Notre Dame would have been a much better match, and I think the Irish may well have prevailed visiting Oxford. James Madison was stomped during the regular season by an average Louisville squad. Vanderbilt would have been a tougher match for Oregon. The powers that be should expand the playoff to sixteen teams or be much more prudent in sending out invites to compete.

Ludicrous Bowl Season

Two tough six and six teams will be battling it out in the Bologna Bowl, but the top two running backs from Podunk University will be sitting it out as they enter the transfer portal along with the record-setting quarterback who is a legit pro prospect having set records for completion percentage and touchdowns passing this season, but dread not Podunk fans, Tech has all eleven offensive starters out as they have agreed to a package deal to transfer over to A & M.

Battle of Heavyweights

Seattle and the Rams are both great football teams. Either has the chance to go a long way in the playoffs. I wonder if the Rams considered going for two points after their touchdown in overtime last night. I think they should have, as their offense at that point was overwhelming, and that conversion, if successful, would have likely meant Seattle could have secured a tie at best. These franchises are each capable of winning another Super Bowl this season.

Poverty of Decency

There are reports circulating on the web of Gazans handing out candy to celebrate the Bondi massacre. If true, these stories do not reflect a dearth of supplies in Gaza but an absence of morality there. They are so starved there that they hoard sweets awaiting news of Jews being slaughtered somewhere to have a celebratory feast when someone stages an atrocity that kills Jews thousands of miles away from the conflict. I guess there ethos is an "unalived Jew" anywhere is a victory for them.

Exempt from Terror

The most jihad beset place on earth is Israel. There are not "Apartheid" walls, but barriers that have been constructed and maintained to stop what would otherwise be constant murderous attacks against Israelis. No place else but the Jewish State was a suicide bombing campaign launched with dozens of separate incidents, including a hotel Seder being exploded wiping out generations and erasing whole families. Yet, circumstances have become so dire for Jews in other places that they are making aliyah to the place where they are under continual threat. How bad is it to be a Hebrew in France that a life of having to be ever vigilant in the Holy Land seems preferable?

The Philippines Nexus

You remember Muslim terrorists in the Philippines took an American couple captive and ultimately beheaded the man before commandos rescued his partner. You recall Timothy McVeigh's one convicted accomplice was married to a woman in the Philippines. Hearken back to the airplane plot that was thankfully thwarted to use suicide bombers to blow up multiple planes more or less simultaneously that was hatched by jihadists in the Philippines, then consider whether the recent visit by the Australia terrorists to the Philippines might have factored in to the Bondi massacre.

What Is Incitement?

Is it okay to tell a group that was attacked and had their innocents slaughtered that they can't defend themselves, or must limit the action they deem necessary for their defense to prevent future atrocities? Could you imagine the world telling Churchill that he could only mount a proportional response to Hitler's Blitz? When you are condemning Israel for acts of defense that you would never criticize any other nation or government for, you are instigating attacks on Jews all over the globe.

Entirely Predictable Result

Over two years of blood libel against the Jewish State and People has led to yet another massacre, this time in Australia. Israel was attacked on October 7, 2023, and everything that has eventuated against the actual attackers was the result of righteous and necessary self-defense. The IDF was NOT the aggressor and has done more to protect the noncombatants from the other side than any military in the history of modern warfare. The terrorist outrage on Bondi Beach was necessarily and inevitably the result of failure by government to crack down on antisemitism and even incitement by nations against a country and faith that were attacked. When Australia's political leaders engaged in "both side" isms and even condemnation of Netanyahu and his defensive actions, they fueled the slaughter on their own Australian soil. When they recognize the nonexistent "State of Palestine", they throw gasoline on the fire their careless words have already ignited. Albanese did not fire any shots at Jews, but he fed the murderous mindset that did by not supporting a besieged democracy surrounded by hateful tyrannies in the Middle East.

Need Some Warming

Many parts of America would pray for some global warming right now. They are beset by an Arctic blast that is driving temperatures to the lowest point of the season. Perhaps, a bit of global warming would stave off this type of cold snap that kills plants and people.

War with Venezuela

Maduro does not want to fight the United States. He knows he can't prevail, and judging from what happened to Saddam Hussein, that he might well not even survive. If the Venezuelan dictator is pushed far enough, he may have to launch retaliation against American forces, but that would be the end of him.

Michigan in Flames

I used to root for University of Michigan football because, from a distance, it appeared they did things the right way. The Wolverines seemed to play hard and actually go to class. Bo Schembechler looked like he was shaping players into fine young men. Then again, so did Joe Paterno at Penn St. Who knew a bit of pedophilia was happening in Happy Valley, or that the Maize and Blue would become a scandal factory? Have you ever imagined seeing the head coach of a marquee football powerhouse ending up behind bars?

Back in Hospital

Unfortunately, despite all her considerable pluck, Mom is back in the hospital. Please keep her in your prayers. This is a tough row to hoe, but she is a fighter.

One Tough Mother

Mom's legs are still swollen like telephone poles. She is still spiking a fever, and the antibiotic she took caused a terrible rash on both legs. Yet, she keeps fighting like a champion, walking on feet she says feel like they weigh "a thousand pounds". Please keep Sherry Goodman in your prayers.

Logic Free Zone

The places where DemocRATS win elections (through whatever means) and take control voluntarily abandon reason. Boys are not girls, You should not surgically lop off the genitals of minor children, no matter what they think they want at that moment. You should not have illegal aliens stabbing folks on trains, because they should not be in our country in the first place. "Sanctuary cities" are sanctuaries for criminals who always exploit the taxpayer and all too often prey upon those who are natives or at least here legally. The aforementioned are simple propositions with which people not at war with common sense would agree.

Fear the Judge

Law is never a carrot but only and always a cudgel.

The Lesson Learned

Pearl Harbor taught valuable lessons. For Japan, the lesson was never wage a sneak attack on America. For the United States, we learned we must be ever vigilant. On September 11, 2001, we obviously let our guard down. Let us pray none of these "lessons" are ever repeated.

Through the Fog

The Left promotes moral ambiguity where there is none. Mutilating confused children is wrong. Blaming a country that was attacked for defending itself is evil. There is no such thing as proportional response. You fight until the threat to your people is eliminated.

The Berserk Left

Free Palestine nut cases just besieged a Los Angeles synagogue, and even produced a mini-Kristallnacht by shattering a vase in the place where people were worshiping and a day school for little children was taking place. This after a foreign Harvard law professor is expatriating our country after shooting at a different Jewish house of worship. These Leftist find nothing sacred and can't control their misplaced anger.

No Rabid MAGA

The perception of Trump supporters as either knuckle-dragging, racist morons, or foaming at the mouth misogynists who also hate gay people is beyond parody. It is downright defamation. Trump and his supporters are opposite of the way in which we are portrayed. It is the ANTIFA, river to the sea agitators, and Black Lives Matter radicals who seem fanatical in the hatred for those of us who are still sane and possess common sense.

Yay Van Epps

My fellow Tennesseans in District 7

will be represented by a common sense, mainstream conservative over the next couple of years as Matt Van Epps beat the radical the DemocRATS picked to run for Congress. The House loses Mark Green, a doctor and a leader, but he is replaced by someone with a similar mindset and platform. We win!

To Great Fanfare

Ellen Degenerate is coming back to America! The gratitude of the masses at the return of the (unfunny) comedienne resounds across our nation. She has fled Trump long enough and returns in triumph. A victory arch should be constructed for the occasion. Actually, I doubt many folks care, as she was a washed up old hag before she ever fled as a millionaire refugee.

Tie or Loss

I question the decision of the Washington coach to go for the two point conversion. Is a draw not preferable to a defeat?
