Is California Cursed?

Nobody disputes the physical beauty of the Golden State. From the mountains to the Pacific, California offers spectacular views. Even the desert offers a certain (dangerous) charm, but for all the scenery and vast resources, the most populous state may still be cursed. What other state has so many earthquakes? Where else do you see such destructive wildfires with such frequency? What other state has a homeless population so huge? Yes, California is a marvel in some ways, but in other aspects, it is undeniably plagued.
