Some Moral Equivalence

Israel attacks terrorists to keep them from doing murder. Iran attacks Jews anywhere they can find them (like Argentina). They also attack completely innocent targets like a Japan-flagged, internationally-crewed tanker, because its operation is managed by an Israeli company. Israel bends over backwards to protect noncombatants and innocent civilians, while Iran tries to kill every Jew it can and even non-Jews who happen to work with Israelis.

Friday's Fauci Follies

(Parody) You may be permitted to leave your house so long as you are booster vaccinated and wear seven masks or a NASA spacesuit. You can allow someone to enter your abode only if they are in a bubble. If you violate any of these requirements, you will be deliberately exposed to COVID and face death to a degree of certainty of around one percent. Fear the pandemic but quake in terror for all that is being done to "protect us" from it.

Turned Off Sports

I was an avid watcher of many sports. Colin Kaepernick cured me of that.

Taste of Bile

An athlete in an event I am not watching let down her teammates and her nation, but in today's upside down world, she will probably be feted. I do not really care about a bunch of folks who despise our country exploiting us to gain fortune and fame. If you do not stand for our anthem, you should not pursue a spot on our national team.

We Must Obey

You are a lamb being led to slaughter if you blindly follow all of the COVID mandates. We used to be a free people, able to determine what was right for us. Now, we must accept absolute garbage with a smile, or our social media will be taken away, and pretty soon our freedom of movement may be stripped from us too. If we allow tyranny, there will be someone there ready to impose it on us.

Australia Gone Mad

I read Queensland is forcing folks to seal their balcony doors so that they are not able to pass things to each other and post photos to prove they are taped up to slow the spread of COVID. These rules are absolute lunacy, but that is what we have come to expect from formerly sane nations. One of the symptoms of the pandemic seems to be rapidly spreading tyranny.

The Stronger Emotion

You can love someone, have that returned in kind, but have that feeling dissolve to never return. Once you hate something or someone, it rarely if ever turns to a robust admiration. It would seem hate trumps love.

Treatment Is Worse

When you lockdown a nation's economy, you are doing incredible damage. COVID is a horror story, but the actons of government in response to it are worse. The pandemic did not destroy the economy and human liberty. Government did that.

A Scared Rabbit

My family has known the political Cooper clan for decades. A few days back I saw my Congressman DemocRAT Jim Cooper in the Belle Meade Kroger. I was at customer service as he was walking past with a few groceries. Out of courtesy, I said "hi Representative Cooper". He looked terrified, like a deer in headlights, that someone recognized him. He must think we are on to the plots the DemocRATS are running.

America the Vanquished

At the end of all this, remember a foreign enemy did not take America down. The tragedy of this tyranny is that we largely did it to ourselves.

Open Border Madness

The ruling cabal is willing to let anyone cross our Southern border. With so many sneaking across, it is inevitable that disease and drugs are coming with them. To be a nation you really have to have secure national boundaries.

Critical About Race

There is one race of which I am aware. That is the human race. There are differences in melanin between folks, but so far as I know, light or dark, we are all people. Stop trying to tear America and Americans apart. You will win nothing and lose much if you succeed.

Such Grateful Athletes

I remember when almost all America's stars in the big money sports were overt patriots. Do you not think pros should be thankful to receive huge salaries to play a child's game? They may jump a little higher or be slightly faster than their high school teammate who is barely getting by as a truck driver or club bouncer. I would be glad to live in and positively represent a country where I was able to earn as much in one season as a wealthy person could accumulate through all his working life.

Exercise in Logic

If masks work, why do we need the vaccines? If the vaccines work, why are they reimposing mask mandates now? If the virus is so dangerous, why is the government admitting hundreds of thousands of aliens, many who have not been tested for COVID and almost none of whom have been immunized against coronavirus, and why is the government facilitating the dispersion of potentially contagious foreigners across the United States?

Distinction Without Difference

If the government is censoring you, or if the government is demanding social media sites censor you, it is all effectively censorship by government. US courts must not allow the First Amendment to be gutted through the backdoor. Stop censorship now before there is no more America.

A Free Cuba

Given the ingenuity, industry, and energy of the Cuban people, that nation could be an economic dynamo if the people were ever allowed to breathe free. Considering the lenghts they have gone to just to survive on that slave island or to escape it, they would triumph over competition if they ever enjoyed liberty.

Our Iranian Friends

The mad mullahs, who the Biden gang is cozying up to, sent thugs to kidnap a dissident living in the United States. These agents might very well have murdered her. This crime on US soil will not sway the Biden regime a bit from continuing their effort to appease Iran.

Solving Nashville's Homelessness

If you gave many of our vagrants apartments or houses, they would ruin them in fairly short order. They are not in proper housing now, not because of a lack of accommodations, but because they are addicts, alcoholics, mentally ill, or all or some combination of the above. You may give them money because they claim they need food. Chances are better than even that they will use whatever you gave them for meth or booze. Homelessness is a complex issue with no easy solution and sometimes what you do to help is actually only making things worse by perpetuating addiction.

Forthright or Not

Is Joe Biden an honest man? Not in the slightest. Is he truthful with the American people? Not hardly. Is he going to serve a second term? Not a chance. I doubt he is even competent at this very moment. I think Biden's mental deterioration is so pronounced we may have Harris as the nation's misleader within a few months.

Revolution Against Revolution

Cuba waged a revolution to free the people from a corrupt dictator (Batista). Instead of freedom, Cubans found themselves enslaved by Communism. The Castro brothers and their close cadre lived like kings while the Cuban people starved. Now, finally after over half a century, brave liberty lovers seem ready to throw off the yoke. I pray for their success. May Cuba enjoy the blessing of freedom that is a human right all too often taken away by despots.

Sundaes on Sunday

As a child, one of the highlights of the week was to have Isadore Gilbert, my beloved grandfather, take me to McDonald's for a twenty-nine (29) cent sundae. As far as desserts go, it was not a very good one, but that did not even matter. I was getting to spend part of the weekend with the greatest man on earth (Some of you might argue that you had spectacular grandpas too, and I would never dispute that, but Izzy was my superman). Other unforgettable moment occurred on Sunday too. Our Captain D's fish lunches for the whole family. Going to the JCC or to the arcade to watch Grand-Dad play pool. I know those days are never coming back and I really miss them.

Spying on Journalists

In free countries, the press need not worry about the government turning intelligence agencies against them. America used to be one of those places. I absolutely believe Tucker Carlson and know it is the government and not the press that needs reigning in.

Haiti or Hades

Haiti has suffered under some terrible leaders. I do not think the last ruler there was worse than his predecessors. He certainly should not have been murdered.

Land Never Conquered

The British failed to subdue Afghanistan. The Russians could not do it. A coalition of developed nations has not been able to end the unrest. Perhaps, it is a country best left to its own fate.

Bringing Afghanistan Peace

Nothing will pacify Afghanistan. The USSR could not. The West did not fare any better.

Free Fire Zone

Chicago is about as dangerous as any place in the world. This is what happens when you forbid the law-abiding from owning firearms. The criminals will always have their guns.

Cancel Culture Cancer

The way to address speech you disagree with is to present the superior argument. In the short run, you may silence someone, but in doing so, you raise great curiousity about what is being censored and may actually attract more hidden viewers than ever would have read an article if the tech overlords would not have tried to prevent its dissemination.

Super Spreader Sunday?

Some naysayers are claiming that our Independence Day get togethers will surge COVID. Maybe it will, but at this point, I am among the multitude willing to take my chances.

Driven to Distraction

If you are traveling this holiday weekend, try not to think too much about what you are paying for gasoline. It will sap your spirit if you remember just how cheap fuel became during the Trump Presidency. Patriots and even those with any sense miss having a real leader in the White House.

Blessed by Independence

Considering how messed up not so Great Britain is now, America can count her great fortune as not being part of the United Kingdom. We won our liberty and more than two centuries later, the English people are still being oppressed, now under the rationale of protecting them from COVID.Thank the Lord and the brave patriots for the freedom America (at least most places here) enjoy today.

Joe Biden is a corrupt, senile figurehead who is being used as cover and a doormat by the most radical elements of his own party. I have heard some say Joe's "heart is in the right place", but he is actually only being generous with other folks' money. Who really thinks Biden is leading anything?
