Some Will Thrive

A lot of businesses will never reopen after the new plague. They will have lost too much to ever make up. Others may come back like gangbusters. Sit-down restaurants will be the hardest hit if social distancing rules are made permanent. Eliminating half your tables is something most dine-in restaurants can not survive.

Another Few Weeks

The national lockdown will have to continue for a bit longer. I know it is not easy to deal with, but it is possibly saving more than a million lives in the US alone.

Difference in Kind

Some folks are conflating President Trump's optimism with the deliberate lies that Red Chinese leaders promulgated. President Trump has expressed hopes, prayers, and desires for an early end to this plague. He has not dismissed science or tried to minimize the danger. The Communist despots withheld and are continuing to withhold facts and data that would have helped their own people and the rest of the world prepare for what we now face. President Trump should be commended for his effort to steer America through these dangerous straits while the Chinese (mis)leaders who navigated us into this maelstrom must be condemned.

Trap of Nostalgia

Until a few days back, the world could be large and welcoming, or small and limiting if that was how you wanted it to be. At least for a while now, the world will be limiting for us all, and I do not like it. Some of our best minds are working on opening the gates, but it will NEVER be the same again.

Watch Stimulus Fail

The US government is going to give the American people a whole lot of money. This will necessarily devalue the US dollar and create rampant inflation. America is rewarding itself for Coronavirus with fiat currency. Welcome to Weimar countrymen.

No Magic Bullet

I listened to the doctor advocating for the Chloroqine, Z-pack, and zinc therapy for COVID-19. He is optimistic that it will save lives. He is realistic that patients will still feel miserable through the run of the virus. His recommended treatment regimen will not make you well but will keep you from dying and off a ventilator, the two most important goals in recovering from this plague.

Who Deserves Virus

The only people who should suffer this plague are Red Chinese officials and their collaborators who covered it up. Their lies enabled the spread over the rest of the world.

Reason for Optimism

If you are not sick (or dead), there is always a chance to claw back. We can not put up the white flag because a virus will not accept our surrender. We have to be prudent but have no choice but to persevere.

A Buying Opportunity

You know it will be time to buy back into American markets when Apple is a penny stock. I have never seen things this grim in my half plus century, and instead of trying to help Americans, Democrat leadership is politicking this plague.

Our Contagion Nation

I just heard that all fifty US states have declared emergencies. In and of itself, that means little. It is up to the people to conduct themselves in a way that slows the spread of Coronavirus. As in a war, defeating this depends on all of us.

Goodbye to Gambler

I grew up in West Nashville. I ran into country music great Kenny Rogers at the Sunflower grocery with some regularity. We would also encounter the star occasionally around the doctor's offices at Saint Thomas Hospital (now Saint Thomas West). I am sure Kenny had no idea who I was but he was always engaging and friendly to us. Kenny Rogers was a phenomenal talent and he will be sorely missed.

New Corona Order

The other day I filled all my Mom's prescriptions for ninety days since I do not know when or how long we might be on lock down. A young daycare teacher, wearing a body-hugging unitard, cut in front of me and an elderly couple in the line at our grocery pharmacy. She had a large shopping bag/purse over one shoulder. She swung her bag back and it brushed my groceries that I had already purchased through self-check. She turned toward me and glowered, demanding to know if I had ever heard of "social distancing". I ignored her question. She proceeded to the pharmacist and was making banter with him that her daycare almost did not open because they could not find hand sanitizer or soap. She was anxious to fill her entire birth control prescription so she could "get her freak on". Unfortunately for her, they did not have her full battery of the Pill and sent her on her way to another pharmacy. I was able to stock up on mother's life-sustaining drugs. I sure hope that little "lady" (and I use the term advisedly) was able to secure all the birth control she needs, because it will be bad for humanity if she ever reproduces.

To enjoy good health is a blessing beyond measure. Be grateful and do not take it for granted.

Who has profited from the Corona-induced panic? Why did so many goods disappear from the shelves? Why did so many adopt a herd mentality of lunatics? I have not purchased anything I would not have had COVID-19 not entered our lives.

Just Stocking Up

I see people buying more toilet paper in one fell swoop than a thousand room hotel could use in a month. This is a several lifetime supply. They must think Coronavirus will stop all normal activity and commerce for a decade. At least, they will have plenty of toilet paper while they barricade themselves in their apartment. Unfortunately, they will not have room to store as much as they bought.

Are You Immune?

No human being is immune from death. Corona virus may not kill you but something else definitely will. Take sensible precautions, but do not let COVID-19 paralyze your life.

Doing the Responsible

I think President Trump is taking the right course to limit the spread of and deaths from COVID-19. In all likelihood, a vaccine will be developed that mitigates the severity of this novel Corona virus. Yes, people will still die occasionally from COVID-19, just as they do from influenza, but America and the world will be able to resume normal activies once a reliable vaccine is successfully deployed.

Dunce Man Walking

Maybe Joe Biden was sharp once. I do not know. The certain thing now is that the former Vice President does not know what day it is, what state he is in, or what office he is seeking. Biden was a known plagiarist years before this election season. Biden has long enriched his family by letting them sell their proximity to his position. Biden is now slow-witted and has long been corrupt. In a debate against Trump, Biden would not stand a chance.

Tired of Winning

Donald Trump did not need the US Presidency. He had more money than he could ever spend and was more or less universally known, with Trump hotels in just about every city you would want to visit. Trump has been subjected to demonization like no other person ever. Trump must love the American people because he has gone through a hell he did not need in his effort to help every day Americans.

No Difference Whatsoever

Do those who hate Trump somehow believe that if Obama were still President, no one would have to worry about the Corona virus? Barack would just have waved his magic wand and we would all be safe. This virus is no respecter of political parties or national leaders, and it would not matter who is in the Oval Office, people will still get sick and some will die from COVID-19.

Left Their Sanity

The international Left is a little conflicted. They want open borders but are now scared to death of letting folks in who have the Corona virus. If you do not have stringent immigration controls, you let everyone in with every disease and illness imaginable, including sicknesses that may kill you and your family.

Hysteria and Opportunism

Corona virus is a terrible thing. I despise the people trying to hype it up to gain political advantage. Democrat politicians and their media flacks are trying to foster fear to create a panic to unseat President Trump. This is a shameful attempt to exploit a health crisis not of the President's making.

President Visits Here

We always welcome President Trump in my home state Tennessee. We are saddened this time that his reason for coming is the tremendous destruction that a tornado (or possibly multiple tornadoes) wrought. The help is coming in from across our community and around the nation and we gladly accept whatever President Trump is able to offer.

Real Climate Change

I have never doubted that the climate changes. It does and it and weather can kill. What I do not believe is that man is capable of producing these changes. Sun and moon and tides and rotational shift all alter the climate, and there is not one thing man will ever be able to do to overcome that. It is the height of hubris to think we as infinitesimal human beings are more powerful than the Creator who spawned us.

Tennessee Tornado Toll

The tragic toll of the Middle Tennessee tornado is still being tallied. By publication, it had already risen to twenty-four (24) with at least thirty-eight still missing. This death storm will never be forgotten.

The "Hit" City

For a few years now, my hometown of Nashville has been billed as the "it" city. Tragically, last night the boom town I grew up in was hit by one of the worst tornadoes in our history. We sustained massive damage in Davidson and surrounding counties. There are at least six dead in Middle Tennessee. Until this morning we loved hits in Nashville, turning out some of the best music in the world. What happened to my community was not the kind of "hit" anyone wanted. We will pull together because we always do, but we sure appreciate your help and prayers.

Falling in Line

Two Democrat socialists with no chance dropped out of the race. Klobuchar and Buttigieg are throwing their support to the old socialist (Biden) to try and block the old Marxist (Sanders) from securing the nomination. They will probably be offered positions in the Biden administration (that will never be) in exchange for their worthless endorsements. Mike Bloomberg might be offered Secretary of Treasury to withdraw, but he will not leave the race. Nanny State despot in waiting Bloomberg wants the whole enchilada, but even with his billions, he can not buy enough votes to win. All of this activity means nothing. Bernie Sanders will still win tomorrow (Super Tuesday) and be the Democrat choice to face President Trump.

Death Race America

Corona virus might kill me, a car might, maybe cancer. Anyway, something is going to have my number. For my Dad, it was murder by physicians. I am a lot luckier than those babies that never enjoy the chance at being born. I have made it more than half a century, and accept that at some point, there is no tomorrow. If it be Corona, let us hope at least it is served with lime.
