Dole Dweller Culture
Those who rely on government become dependent on it. They allow themselves to be wards of the state. Our Founding Fathers did not want us to be slaves to the State. Obama Care breeds greater dependency on government and makes Americans less free.

Chance of Success
The Affordable Care Act can not work. It is too expensive for a nation already operating on fiat currency and money borrowed from other countries (notably Red China). Obama Care is neither affordable to the nation nor individuals. It is intrusive. It funds abortion on demand and rations medical treatment. It was never designed to succeed, but to cause such disruption that the American people would rise up to demand a single payer system, which if ever implemented would be just as bad.

Stabbing Our Friends
The United States is making common cause with al-Qaeda in Syria in an effort to unseat Bashar al-Assad. Barack Hussein Obama just had a conciliatory fifteen minute chat on the telephone with the Islamic Republic of Iran's Cheshire Cat new President Hassan Rouhani. At the same time, America is restraining Israel from any preemptive action against Iran and exerting massive pressure against the Jewish State to retreat to 1967 "suicide borders" as a concession to the Palestinians. It is a world turned upside down where we comfort our enemies and chastise our friends.

Juggling Hand Grenades
You have to hand it to Ben Bernanke, the soon to be departing Federal Reserve Chairman. He has presided over a monetary easing that should have provoked inflation, indeed even hyperinflation, but somehow managed to hold it off while watching US stock markets rise back to pre-recession levels, even if the gains seem to be measured in fiat dollars. Investors have realized that despite all of America's problems, markets in the rest of the world are even more unstable. Some will say he is no Alan Greenspan, but Ben Bernanke did help our economy survive what could have been a crushing blow. Let us hope who ever replaces him has as much skill or luck in holding our heads above water.

Federal Government Shutdown
Nothing has been more destructive of liberty in America recently than the expansive regulatory regime of the Federal government itself. The legitimate function of national government as defined in the US Constitution has been exceeded for generations, but Barack Hussein Obama has grown Federal authority further and faster than any President before. If a so-called "shutdown" constrains or at least delays tyranny, let those who would resist the progressive agenda hold the line now.

Ted Cruz: American!
Ted Cruz did what most Republicans no longer do- he stood for something. The GOP leaders are spineless little men who stand for nothing beyond perpetuating their own perks and power, and seem to fall for any crumbs the Democrats, who are destroying America as she was founded, are offering. Americans are increasingly despising politicians, Ted Cruz shows them there are still some honorable men in Washington.

Beware Iranian "Dove"
Just before Adolf Hitler sparked the greatest conflagration the world has ever known, those who would soon have to defend themselves from Nazi aggression confidently assured the world there would be "peace in our time". A new Iranian President showing a less aggressive public face in no way means that the mad mullahs who actually control Iran are relenting in the slightest on their twin aims of 1.)destroying the Jewish State of Israel and 2.)creating sufficient world chaos and destruction to draw the Twelfth Imam from his hiding place in the well to bring their notion of a savior to the world. This is not time to "trust but verify" when Hassan Rouhani puts a more moderate spin than Mahmoud Ahmadinejad did to the world, but the time to remember that Iran is only months away despite assurances to the contrary from producing a nuclear-tipped missile to use against Tel Aviv.
