The Guilty Party

If a thug jumps a fellow on the street in an attempt at strong-armed robbery but ends up pinned to the ground by his intended target, both parties are not guilty of assault. The winner of the struggle was only defending himself and all blame accrues solely to the one who tried to perpetrate a crime. This concept applies to countries as well. Russia is the culprit in the war they started against the Ukraine and the smaller peaceful neighbor they attacked is entirely blameless.
