About Last Night

Yesterday was America's birthday. I saw inspiring fireworks with my eight year old daughter in person, then watched a patriotic fireworks display with music with her on television. The problem as I see it is that she still knows basically nothing about the Declaration of Independence or our nation's founding even as she is about to enter third grade. I do not think Louisville's public schools are serving her well. On the plus-side, she really does like the pageantry of Independence Day, even though she did not know we fought the British for our freedom. Happy birthday to America (and many more)!
