Down Goes Frazier

Some media people are hyping hurricane damage like a title fight. They are desperate to somehow blame President Trump and the Republicans for a natural event. What sort of person tries to win political points as people are drowning?

The Killer Hurricanes

There is no doubt that this is a perilous hurricane season. Many are claiming that this is attributable to man-caused climate change. This is utter nonsense. Some of the most destructive hurricanes on record occurred before the creation of the internal combustion engine and before the industrial age. The important thing when these storms hit is not pinning blame on a myth but protecting life and if possible, property.

Wary of War

I have a friend visiting South Korea this week. I would not go there now. Even if America and her allies knock out all of Pyongyang's weapons of mass destruction in a first strike, North Korea has huge numbers of conventional artillery pieces aimed at Seoul. I just hope nothing starts during my friend's trip. Whenever it does start, as I fear is bound to happen, millions will die,

Not Just Bluster

Some people are claiming that North Korea has no aggressive intentions. Some people thought there would be "peace in are time" with Hitler in the late 1930s. How did that appeasement work out for the world?

North Korean Threats

I would take the threats from Pyongyang very seriously. In fact, I would preempt them by obliterating North Korea's military capacity in a massive first strike.

Fire and Flood

Circumstances that almost seem Biblical have hit Texas. Many feet of water have engulfed neighborhoods. A chemical plant has exploded. The damage from Harvey now extends beyond the Lone Star State into Louisiana, Tennessee, and Kentucky. I pray no more lives are lost and that victims are back on their feet as quickly as possible.

Beware High Water

I only drove one time during the May 2010 Thousand Year Flood in my hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. I was very lucky to be able to return safely after going out for food. Last night, I was forced to drive extensively during the Nashville flooding. Just as an observation- I notice there seems to be a lot of dangerous ponding at intersections- you all be safe out there.
