Our Economic Triumph?

Employment numbers beyond government hiring and that of contractors in service of government do not show that Biden is doing a great job. They do reflect that government did a terrible thing shutting down parts of the private sector economy because of COVID, and that some are indeed rehiring folks dismissed because of the pandemic or creating new positions that were delayed because government had shut down businesses that it did not deem "necessary" or "essential". There is also non-governmental hiring that is prompted by government's effort (and subsidies and incentives) to supplant gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles that fuel the real economy with electric vehicles that few people want or would find practical for their transportation needs. Is the economy returning to pre-pandemic levels? Yes, in some instances, but it is not because of government, but in spite of it.
