If Joe Biden was leading way back then: The pioneers (in Joe lingo "colonialists") would not have the US cavalry rescue them when the Indians (in Joe lingo "Native Americans") attack. The US troops might be right there on the Plain as the wagon train is attacked, but they could not possibly intervene to protect the Pale Faces (in Joe lingo "occupiers"). They could gallop past, leaving their carbines and plenty of ammunition behind, not for the pilgrims, but for the Redskins (in Joe lingo "NOT the Washington football team"). The model for this premise is Afghanistan.
