Metro Nashville Schools

School officials made the boneheaded decision to open public schools with wintry weather rolling into my hometown of Nashville. The officials are making the mistake of attempting to offer an explanation along with their apology. They need to apologize and say they will do their best not to permit such a mistake to happen again. Their "explanation" is worthless and insulting.

Being Snowed In

I remember how my Dad would take his Jeep Wagoneers and plow through the worst weather that Nashville could throw at him. I sure wish I had one of those four-wheel drive marvels today. Nothing seems to be moving on my street right now and the snow is still falling. A team of Huskies might come in handy.

Just Not Right

When a mentally-disabled young white man is kidnapped and tortured by blacks in Chicago, it is not a "hate crime", even though the culprits are verbally attacking whites throughout the video they recorded of their dreadful deed. When a white high school boy tapes his black schoolmate eating fried chicken and mocks him, this is considered a "hate crime". Maybe it is time to ditch "hate crime" laws and simply prosecute people for their criminal actions, rather than what is presumed to be the motive for those actions and to leave free speech alone. Speech that is innocuous needs no protection. Only speech that some or even many find offensive needs the shield of the First Amendment.

Some Real Optimism

Some politicians talk about hope. Others like Ronald Reagan actually make Americans hopeful for a better future. I believe Trump in this way is like Ronald Wilson Reagan.

Drain the Swamp

I wonder if Trump will ever meet with or even take calls from the K Street lobbyists. They really have nothing he needs, and are much of what he campaigned against.

Swamp the Drain

Barack Hussein Obama is trying to leave such a legacy of misery that Donald Trump (or Jesus Christ for that matter) could not clean it up. Even in his last days in office, Obama is piling on regulation and complicating foreign relations (see Russia and Israel) to leave Trump an unmanageable conundrum.

Already Next Year

Last night, I went to bed in 2016, but I awoke in 2017. Man, I wish it was last year again.
