Republican Funding Priority

The President and Republicans really want to make sure American citizens are provided for and protected with a secure border. They really want the alien criminals Biden admitted sent back to their countries of origin, so they are not in a position to harm you and your children. They actually want to ensure deadly narcotics never reach our shores. What Trump wants and the Republican Congress are being blocked by DemocRATS from delivering is a safe and prosperous America. 

DemocRAT Funding Priorities

DemocRAT leadership does not care if your child is killed by an illegal alien on the street. They do very much care that those illegals all have access to healthcare here in America at taxpayer (your) expense. They are in fact so concerned that they have shut down the government over it. 

Government Shut Down

America is in crisis, or perhaps not so much, as we experience a shut down of the Federal government caused by DemocRAT obstruction. The sun will still come up. Birds will fly. Businesses will open their doors (as we are a capitalist country). Would we have preferred the DemocRAT Party be less obstinate and be willing to compromise with the President and the Republicans who hold more seats in Congress? Yes, absolutely, but at the moment one faction is comprised of arsonists who have taken over the fire brigade and that side is NOT the GOP. 

Gaza Peace Plan

What the Middle East needs is NOT in the Gaza Peace Plan. To have real and lasting peace would require the denazification within areas of so-called "Palestinian control"like Germany saw at the conclusion of World War II. These "Palestinians" have been weened on a sort of Jew-hatred the likes of which the world has never experienced. They make the Hitler Youth look tame by comparison. A mindset of murder is instilled within the young that words on paper will not fix. A complete overhaul of their textbooks and education is in order where they are not taught the highest virtue is to kill Jews. Then, the lessons they learn at home and in the mosque must be dealt with wherein they are taught to "love death more than the infidel loves life". I turn fifty-nine today and will never see peace for Israel in my lifetime. I pray my daughter, who is ten years old, survives to witness a Jewish State living in peace and prosperity with Arab neighbors, but I sincerely doubt this will ever happen. 

Fortify the Churches?

A church by its very purpose should be welcoming, but in our increasingly strange and violent times, perhaps we need to install barricades and tighten security measures, as apparently the unbalanced and evil now find about anyplace people gather a tempting target for murder. The nature of a congregation is to welcome, but sadly today, it must be to screen first. I suppose everywhere a crowd is likely to gather must enhance security measures in this troubled era. 

A Disordered Country

The anarchists and the ANTIFA-types see the government as a giant bully. Sane folks see law enforcement as necessary for an ordered society. The radicals stoke chaos, thinking in their own warped minds that they are a David standing up to a Goliath, or some other hero facing a powerful foe for the many of them that know nothing of the Bible. A chaotic country is a dying one. 

Gaza Peace Plan

Any "peace" in Gaza must begin with the release of the Israeli hostages. That is the prerequisite to any cessation of hostilities. Hamas must also lay down its arms, so Israel will never sustain another October 7 like they did in 2023. Beyond that, it matters little whether former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is administering Gaza, or someone else picked by Trump but agreed to by the Jewish State. These steps could stop the dying in an instant. 

This Generation's Churchill

Benjamin Netanyahu is the voice of moral clarity in an immoral world. It is an honor to see the vile tyrants of the world walk out on Netanyahu at the United Nations. The Prime Minister of Israel has more courage than most of the leaders in human history. He leads a tiny but righteous nation against the vast majority of countries that bask in their own despotism, corruption, and rot. As long as Netanyahu leads, Israel will never surrender to jihad. The IDF will prevail over the terrorists and the sinister forces who back them! 

Era of Darkness

The Left has always been wrong-headed. Now, members of this confused side are not just stupid but violent. For every Leftist that has served in the American military, there are several right-wingers. The radicals best not start what they are unable to finish, if personal survival means anything to them (and for some like the recent Dallas suicide shooter, waking up tomorrow is apparently not a consideration). 

Mister Wet Blanket

Jay Powell did everything humanly possible to prop up Joe Biden. He and the Fed did not seem independent then but more an arm of the Biden-Harris team. With Trump, the Federal Reserve is an opponent. America's stocks have surged under our current President. Imagine how much more our portfolios would rise if the Fed would stop acting as anti-Trump partisans. People did not like Paul Volcker. They rightly saw his high interests rates were harming their families. What do folks think of Powell as he does all he is able to thwart Trump, and in so doing, harms the economy, the people, and our nation? 

The Baseball Playoffs

Congratulations to the San Diego Padres for making it in and good luck to them in finally capturing a World Series. A relatively small market team with a small payroll standing toe to toe with the Dodgers is amazing. I watch the game for the game's sake without really pulling too hard for anybody as there is no Major League team to root for in my hometown of Nashville. The only club I really hated and wanted to lose that prevailed anyway was the Blue Jays in their halcyon days because Canada already had hockey and unmerited arrogance, and I could not stand having Canucks I knew declaring that Canadians were "even better than Yanks at America's game". Go Padres go- you may be David but sometimes the little guy still prevails. 

Bear Some Responsibility

Mark Zuckerberg certainly did not shoot Charlie Kirk, but the odious lies on his platforms may have planted the seed in the murderer's head. I have myself witnessed former high school classmates on Facebook calling our current President "Hitler" or a "Nazi". Donald Trump has a Jewish daughter and grandchildren and has done more for Israel than all former Presidents combined. Facebook acquaintances have termed all Republicans "Fascist", an outrageous lie and smear. So if you happened to be a deluded young person in Utah, you might feel compelled to try and stop the modern incarnation of Hitlerism and (wrongly) see that embodied in Charlie Kirk. The platforms that spewed calumny against Trump and his supporters might as well have loaded the gun for a lunatic who likely saw himself as a hero battling (imagined) evil. 

Callahan "Not Fazed"

The Titans football coach is unperturbed that virtually all the fans (save for those in his own household) want him fired. What should bother him (beyond the inevitability of his coming departure) is that he led Tennessee to the worst record in the National Football League last season and is on course to duplicate the dubious feat. Callahan declared he does not "think about those things". Another matter the soon to be ex-coach does not consider seems to be how to win football games, which does not commend him as the leader of a team. 

The Pitiful Titans

Some teams are under-coached. Some are over-coached. The Titans would be better off if they had no coach than they are saddled with Brian Callahan.

End of Summer

Don't you just hate it when you have to close up the pool for the season? It is almost like a little bit of you dies. My ten year old seems to be happiest in the water. She was in the shallow end more than the rest of us put together. As I recall, I was only in once, perhaps twice (at most). I know it is an expense, but little in life these days is not. 

A Cultural Phenomena

Some folks had never even heard of Charlie Kirk until the unfathomable act of evil that took him but have now watched many hours of his persuasive videos and had a sort revival of faith itself thanks to their new acquaintance. Kirk may touch many millions more after his departure than he did in life. 

A Tardy Fed

The Federal Reserve finally lowered interest rates. They had kept them too high to fight the chimera of inflation that Trump had already dealt with by cutting Biden's unprecedented government spending. The only reason the rates were kept unnecessarily high by the Fed seems to have been to damage President Trump. 

The Developers' Friends

The Mayor of my hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, the Metro Council, and the Zoning Appeals Board are all handmaidens to those who come in with deep pockets and intentions to build expensive projects that completely alter the character of neighborhoods and that almost all the residents already living there oppose. The Mayor and most Council members talk a class envy game that they are all for the "little man", then in the event, they turn multimillionaire developers, almost exclusively from places far distant from Music City, into billionaires while ignoring the will of the voters who elected them. 

Some Great Pageantry

I think the ownership of the Tennessee Titans is more concerned with a great national anthem singer, attractive cheerleaders, and a spectacular halftime show than giving fans a competitive football team in Nashville. Of course, there will be a talented performer to sing the Star Spangled Banner because this is Music City USA. Certainly the halftime performance will be among the best in the League, but people buy tickets to enjoy a winner in the actual game, not the contest-adjacent activities that fill the time on the field where everyone gets up to use a restroom or buy concessions. 

Titans Need Coach

When Brian Callahan was brought to Nashville to lead our professional football team, we were told he was a brilliant offensive mind and that we would have the bonus of getting a package deal with his father, who was said to be the best offensive line coach in the game. The Titans offense is terrible. The offensive line is pitiful. I do not know why ownership has not fired the head coach, who is a LOSER. In sports as in life, you may have stasis, which is okay if things are going well, an upward trajectory, which is what normal folks want, or a downward slide, that is all team Callahan has delivered. The Tennessee Titans will become a perennial doormat, if they do not find a better head coach. 

A New Powerhouse

I naturally assumed based on history that the University of South Carolina football team would clobber my hometown Vanderbilt Commodores in Columbia. The Gamecocks were supposed to be pretty good and with their rabid fans, great. USC at home I thought was virtually unbeatable. Vandy smacked them down like the proverbial redheaded stepchild with a final score of 31 to 7. The Dores are really tough this season, maybe even better than they were when now Penn State coach James Franklin had them at that recent peak. 

Superficial Security Arrangements

Charlie Kirk had faced death threats, but I really think his protection detail was more concerned with someone coming and attempting a punch or making an effort to stab the protectee than having a sniper taking a shot at Charlie. Were the roofs swept before the event? Were guards assigned to the base and roof of buildings that overlooked the event? Was a camera-equipped drone in the air monitoring the gathering? It looked to be that a few bodyguards were around Kirk more to dissuade an assault than deployed to properly prevent a sniper. With rigorous security arrangements, Charlie might not have been shot. This horror demonstrates the illusion of security over the reality of threat. His team was haphazard, and it cost him his life and us his inspiration and brilliance. 

Essence of Evil

Charlie Kirk came to campus for an open exchange of ideas, which should be what the college experience is about, not to scold or mock or curse or shout down people who perceive the world differently. He did not silence his critics but brought them to the front of the line so that they could speak. Kirk did not reproach them but greeted them with the love and light of Jesus Christ. The murderer did not want that persuasive conversation to take place, so he did what those devoid of both decency and a compelling argument do and lashed out in the worst way possible, and slaughtered a devoted husband and father and the greatest patriot of his generation. 

Laden With Tragedy

A day of darkness, September 11, has turned into a day of light with service done in the name of those lost.  This continues even after yesterday's horrific and senseless act of murder in Utah, inflicted on a man of peace and goodwill. I believe that Charlie Kirk too would want us all to use his loss and the legacy of logic, reason, and common sense always so well-stated for good. He did not come on campus to intimidate but to inform, and he did that with greater eloquence than anyone ever. Charlie Kirk will surely be missed, but for the good of America and the world, we must advance his ideas. 

An Irreplaceable Voice

The three conservative stalwarts I am aware of were William Buckley, Rush Limbaugh, and Charlie Kirk. Buckley was the initiator of the modern conservative movement, with his seminal National Review. Limbaugh was the voice in the wilderness, when there were no major conservative outlets before FOX News ever existed. Kirk strode into the lion's den of intolerant, empty-headed Leftism that our colleges have largely become to redeem the ignorant with forthright, courageous, well-articulated, logical speech. You see we have ideas, compelling ones that change minds and convince those who are not so brainwashed that they are no longer persuadable. God bless Charlie Kirk. His life blessed America.

Qatar No Sanctuary

Israel eliminated some bloody-handed terrorist masterminds, who incorrectly believed the Jewish State would not dare strike them in a country that houses American military bases. Qataris have long been playing a double game, pretending they are allies to the United States and the West, while cuddling up to the mad mullahs that enslave Iran. The Trump administration distanced itself from the actions of the IDF, but Netanyahu must do what he has to to finish Hamas off, wherever they hide. Israel is not an appendage of the United States and has to place the survival of Israelis first, because nations do not have friends, only interests. 

Evil by Design

Some folks still believe Israel has a "partner for peace" in the Palestinian Authority (PA), but the PA engages in a "pay to slay" policy wherein those who murder Jews or their survivors are rewarded by the Palestinian Authority. There can never be peace with an entity that pays for the slaughter of women and children. Hamas is obviously beyond redemption but so is the PA. 

Crux of Dilemma

Jews do not have it good at the moment. We are receiving the message "you don't belong here" no matter where we happen to be. From Bondi Beach to Brooklyn, we are being physically attacked. In Israel, we are simply murdered. I think we shall try to remain wherever we want, because "go back to Poland" is not an option for Nashville Jews whose forebearers arrived here in 1850, and "why don't you go to Israel" does not fly either as simply boarding a bus there will get you killed. No, we will be at whatever place Hashem calls us, because when you wear a target everywhere on earth, there is no running away. 

An Instant Classic

The Buffalo Bills stunned the Baltimore Ravens in the best first week game in NFL history. The Ravens seemed to have it won, but Buffalo never gave up. What a spectacular contest! 

Wrong About Commodores

I will be the first to admit on the rare occasion that I do not make the right call. I earnestly thought that Virginia Tech playing at home would be too much for my hometown Vanderbilt football squad, but in the event, after a shaky fist half, Vandy looked like world beaters, dominating VPI in the second half. At least I did not have any money riding on the outcome. 

Every Building Leveled

Those big bad Israelis seem to be demolishing all the structures in Gaza City. The IDF is NOT doing this out of pure viciousness but because each of the places the forces attempt to enter is booby-trapped. 

Revenge for Tech

Vanderbilt stunned the Hokies last season when they visited Nashville. I do not think Vandy will be able to repeat the feat this year in Blacksburg. Virginia Tech looks considerably better (on paper at least). I will be impressed if Vanderbilt is able to duplicate what they did in 2024. 

A Weird Game

Before the competition started in earnest, one of the better Philadelphia defensive players manged to get himself ejected. The contest was interrupted by a long weather delay in the third quarter. I believed and wrote Philadelphia would win, but in the event, they won less convincingly than I expected. A win is a win though, and Dallas remains the Eagles' doormat.

Pro Football Starts

The regular season of the National Football League kicks off tonight. My first fearless prediction is that the Eagles will smash the Cowboys in game one. My second call for the entire season is that my hometown Tennessee Titans will earn themselves another number one draft pick by being the doormat of the League. I am not rooting for either of those outcomes. I am just a realist. 

President's Failing Health?

Gee whiz, Trump makes himself scarce a couple of days and media gadflies and never-Trumpers speculate he is not long for the Presidency and maybe not for this world. Many of these same folks never brought up that Biden was obviously fading mentally and physically for his four years in office, and some even outrageously claimed shortly before Biden withdrew from his reelection campaign that this was "the best Joe Biden ever".  A President recently was flagging alright but not the one currently in the White House. 

A Giant Flop

I watched Bill Belichick's dreadful college head coaching debut, what I could endure of it, and have reached the conclusion that maybe his unparalleled success in the professional ranks really was all Tom Brady. The Carolina boys looked like they couldn't beat the Sisters of the Poor last night, which was disappointing after all the "greatest coach" hype. 

Lost Labor's Love

In the age of sweatshops and Samuel Gompers, there was a compelling need for unions. They are an anachronism today in America, as laws have now long been on the books protecting the rights of the worker and preventing abuses. Was organized labor necessary? Yes, but that was a century ago. I wonder if the robots replacing the workers will ever call a strike? 

Snakes Running Cities

Instead of fighting crime on their streets, DemocRAT leaders of cities and states are scheming to stop the President of the United States from bringing order. They would rather have murder at epic rates than Trump's help. What are these mis-leaders afraid of, and why would they insist on no cash bail and defunding the police? They coddle criminals while Trump tries to protect the innocent. 

Kind of Embarrasing

The West Point football team just dropped their home opener to little Tarleton State. Army represents the entire nation. It is not like the boys from Texas were Notre Dame or Navy- to lose to a team that just a few year ago was Division II- should be a mortification.  

Something Inherently Wrong

I do not know what causes someone to despise the sex that they were born, the corporeal form the Creator gave them, but I do know doctors profiting from exploiting the deranged is despicable. It used to be that the medical profession had reservations about lopping off perfectly healthy organs and embarking on Frankenstein treatments with opposite sex hormones, but apparently the wealth they could achieve by playing God proved too much for many medicos to resist. 

Essence of Evil

The trans assassin in Minnesota was wickedness incarnate. The slaughter was directed against the most innocent- children in church. Of course, the coward committed suicide after murdering two students and wounding nearly twenty others. There is no rhyme or reason to inherently irrational acts staged by the insane, but much scrutiny needs to be directed at the part of the medical industry dedicated to "transitioning". Sometimes, bizarre ideation does not need to be coddled or even tolerated, and people need to be placed in asylums for their own good and to protect society from what they will otherwise inflict upon it. 

Illinois for Satan

The bloated and bloviating baleen Governor of the Prairie State seems to want it to become the abortion capital of the world. That sure is something a state could be proud of- instead of a Silicon Valley like California- the folks in Illinois will be able to brag more pre-born babies were slaughtered there than the entire rest of the United States combined. 

My Old School

I am saddened to say that the high school I attended almost half a century ago is in the midst of a sexual harassment firestorm, wherein a former instructor is suing a former student who brought his teaching there to an abrupt end after allegations were made against him. We had nothing so sordid when I or my mother, who attended before me, went there. I hope the mess is cleaned up and everyone regains confidence that they can attend and obtain a quality education with staff and students safe. 

A Football Dynasty?

There is no question that Deion Sanders is one of the greatest cornerbacks in NFL history. The fact that he also competed in Major League Baseball demonstrates he was not only athletic but exceptionally versatile. His sons are undeniably skilled athletes, but I do not think they will enjoy success in pro football. I would compare them to Bronny James in the NBA in a way, as Bronny is only on the Laker roster because his father is still one of the best players in basketball. Naturally, with a legendary Dad, the children will not be "driven" the way the previous "hungry" generation was. 

Answer to Disorder

When the troops deployed to Washington, crime went down significantly. There was not a single murder for a week. This miracle will occur in additional cities as the National Guard pacifies the streets. Why are so many DemocRATS against safer communities? 

Battle Against Anarchy

Trump intends to deploy more troops to additional cities. These cities now may not be lawless, but they certainly are crime-ridden. The more law enforcers that are available, the less street crime there will be. Anyone against this common sense fight is by definition for disorder in the major cities of our nation. 

An Obvious Outcome

If you put hundreds of troops and even more law enforcement officers from various Federal agencies on the streets of the nation's capital, crime will go down there. Saturation policing works every time it is tried in reducing criminality in a particular locality, but unfortunately, there are not enough National Guardsmen to duplicate this tactic in every DemocRAT city beset by violence at the same time. 

Back Biting Ninnies

Can you imagine that there is still such a thing as an "anti-Trump Republican"? Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins spring immediately to mind. As do Thomas Massie and increasingly Marjorie Taylor Greene, who rebel against the President because he is striving to strengthen allies beyond the border of the United States. These ideologues and/or dolts attempt to thwart Trump as he is saving their own political party, the nation, and the world. 

Biden Would Have

The shell of the former President being manipulated by the cabal propping him up would have committed American troops to the Ukraine as would Kamala Harris if she had prevailed. It is only Donald Trump who has staved off World War III with Russia. 

Zelenskyy Will Not

The leader of the Ukraine will not cede one meter of his nation to Putin. He may offer a referendum to the Ukrainian People, but I am not sure they will vote to give an inch either. Some conflicts are simply intractable. 

Ukraine Will Give?

Any territory Kyiv yields is seen as surrender to an aggressor and bully. Zelenskyy is inflexible because the patriots of the Ukraine demand he continue to defend sacred land. If Zelenskyy compromises now in the slightest, Ukrainians will remove him from power and quite possibly from the living. 

Washed in It?

A Sinner's Fate

You probably will not receive that which you desire and perhaps, not even what you require, but you should pray you do not suffer what you deserve, that mercy and grace would be held in reserve. Beseech the Lord to spare you the eternal consequence that you have earned. 

Remember Pearl Harbor

The security posture of the United States must be at its highest as Trump meets with Putin. A bad actor, possibly acting in concert with Russia or even under the orders of the Russian dictator himself, might well pick that moment to strike America, when they would think our guard might be down. 

Will Anybody Pay?

I bet in the end there are no legal consequences for the conspiracy to "get Trump". The Deep State protects its own. Statutes of limitation have already lapsed in many cases. The "Swamp jihad" against MAGA has not prevailed, but the perpetrators will get away scot-free. 

Finally Some Rain!

It seems to be feast or famine in regard to precipitation in my home state of Tennessee. We had not had any rain for many days. Yards were turning from lush green to fading brown. Then, in the overnight hours, we had it pour down, threatening floods. We are not in the grip of "climate change" now though, just the erratic weather patterns I have witnessed over and over again across seven decades. 

Ford's Corporate Suicide

Ford has gone all-in on electric vehicles. Unfortunately for the company, the American people are not embracing electrics. They have reservations about one day trips with three five minute fill-ups becoming two day journeys with six hours of charging time necessitating an overnight stay at a hotel or bed and breakfast somewhere that becomes an expense and time commitment that with a petroleum-powered vehicle would not have been incurred. Not to mention that even with government subsidies, this type of vehicle was not selling, and Trump is ending Federal support for alternative powered vehicles and going back to drill baby drill. So Ford, which has been losing massively on electric vehicle sales, is committing two billion dollars of corporate money to retooling plants in Louisville and Michigan to produce electric trucks that few people will ever consider purchasing. In a capitalist society, you can't force folks to buy what is impractical to their needs and that they do not want and with government subsidies drying up, will put Ford under in short order. 

The Military Deploys

The Trump administration is bringing troops into Washington to combat the epidemic of violence in our nation's capital. This is an excellent move that probably should have been done sooner. I wonder if my home state Governor Lee will heed this lesson and send the National Guard into the crime-beset city of Memphis to pacify the streets there. Tennessee deserves safe cities and that deployment would make our second largest city safer than it is now. 

Same Old Titans

I know we just endured the first preseason game and that these early contests do not count in the standings, but my hometown professional football squad looked listless, lethargic, and directionless as they were pummeled by Tampa's reserves. All the plaudits when Coach Callahan was hired about getting the best offensive line coach in the deal with his highly acclaimed father have meant less than nothing as Will Levis became a human tackling dummy behind a woeful offensive line, and the son is vastly worse at his job than the Dad. You would have to be a masochist to buy a personal seat license to this pitiful team which may well be on the way to "earning" its second consecutive number one pick. Tennessee's pro ballers remind me of Vanderbilt in the decades of bad old days where you just knew unless the Commodores (or back then-"commode doors") were playing UT-Chattanooga, they were going to lose. It costs vastly more to be in the Titan's stadium, and the boys in Columbia Blue will not be playing the Moccasins. 

Not a Genocide

There were attempts at genocide in the Middle East. They were aimed against the Druze of Syria. Prior to that, the effort was targeted to destroy the Alawites. Before that, the target was the Jews on October 7, 2023. One group NOT selected for extermination has been the Palestinians. Israel is not starving the people in Gaza. Hamas is. Hamas and its allies tried to murder or abduct every Jew they could during that dreadful pogrom that claimed more Jews than any day since the Holocaust ended. The Palestinians have had the power to end the incursion from the day of their attack on Israel. Hamas could have returned their hostages and laid down their arms and that would have stopped the conflict. Instead, the jihadists decided to use their coreligionists as human shields and cannon fodder, while stealing food aid and using it themselves or selling it back to civilians at extortionate prices. To my now former friends on Facebook who are shouting their indignation at Israel, the Jews did not start this fight, but we will not allow our women to be raped and our children butchered. Israel will survive and the Jewish People thrive. 

Guns and Butter

The welfare programs of the 1960's did wonders for the American family. Prior to LBJ, almost every home in America where children were present had two parents, but good old Lyndon managed to take a huge number of fathers out of the equation. In this addition by subtraction, women lost a man to help keep children on the straight and narrow, but received checks from their government instead. Thank you President Johnson- you had a huge hand in making the United States what it is today. 

Solving Washington's Crime

Our nation's capital is beset with street violence. The reason for this starts in the home, where all too often the father has been banished in favor of a check from the government. Then, with discipline lacking, truancy and delinquency start and a gang becomes the "family" of a boy with an absent dad. To restore order, I would hold the parent (usually the mother as the father is not in the picture) civilly liable for the crimes of her minor children and penalize her criminally for her son's unexcused absences from the public schools. Then, I would impose a curfew at nine at night on minors on weekdays during the school year and one at ten pm during school breaks and weekends. These steps would not be a panacea but would help. 

The "Jew Card"

All of a sudden, Marc Elias, another agent of chaos working against MAGA, is pulling the antisemitism card in the same manner Soros has. Soros is a beleaguered Jew when he wants to be but not the kind of Jew who would stand up for Israel or Jews under attack. I do not think most or even many were aware attorney Elias even was Jewish, with only the really politically-aware knowing Elias has a hand in almost every election case that ends up harming the interests of Republicans. I am Jewish myself, and consider the Soros brand of Jew an ardent foe of the Jewish State and no advocate for the Jewish People. 

A Bizarre Concept

George Soros is NOT a "self-loathing Jew". He has for decades lavished himself with the best that money could buy. He simply seems to hate other Jews, those who have any affinity for our own People and/or the Jewish State. 

Soros Beyond Criticism

It is odd how anytime you criticize Soros, you are called antisemitic. Soros has a constant mad-on against Israel and sold out his fellow Jews to the Nazis during the Second World War. He is not exactly a paradigm for Judaism. 

Force for Chaos

In the United States, in places where money distributed into certain hands exacerbates the situation, somehow Soros seems to be involved. Now that "facts" about the Russia Hoax are emerging, it appears Soros even had a grimy hand in that. Is there no aspect of America that this old instigator does not try to sully? 

Cabal Against Trump

The forces that aligned against our President are as real as rain, and include the not-so-objective media. Even now as evidence documenting a conspiracy and soft coup is released, it is being ignored by the press except for FOX News and certain conservative sites. Hillary Clinton initiated the Russia Hoax. Obama picked up the ball and ran with it, and Biden stumbled through his participation in this offense that was not merely aimed at Trump, but against our nation! 

Tariffs Still Bite

Trump's plan is NOT a perfect one. American stocks are taking a beating today. I pray that countries compromise now, rather than initiating a tit for tat trade war that ultimately harms consumers everywhere. Trump is obviously right in principle that trade must be fair, and he has demonstrated flexibility and a willingness to compromise, but he will not tolerate us being exploited by other countries anymore. 

The "Chosen" People

I do not know if it is such a good thing to be Jewish as I am, as I note two of the four victims of the Manhattan murderer were women who were Jews. Yes, with us constituting two tenths of one percent of the world's population, half of the innocent lives taken were of my coreligionists. Odds would be incalculable against such a tiny minority being slaughtered at random but our good Lord tolerated that hit by lightning type of event. If we are this "chosen", perhaps we would fare better if G-d picks some other group.

The Federal Reserve is deliberately stifling the Trump economy. I accuse them of pure anti-Trump political partisanship. 

Three Percent Growth!

I worried that at this moment we would be in a Trump tariff-induced recession. I am glad to admit that I could not have been more wrong. The United States is enjoying steady growth at a sustainable rate with the Gross Domestic Product just gauged at having 3% expansion in the last quarter, We are not receding and certainly a long way from a cataclysmic depression that I know we ultimately would have suffered under the hard Harris socialism we were so blessed to avoid. 

An American Tariffist

Donald Trump is something of a protectionist, and I feared his tariffs would harm the economy and our nation. I had visions of Smoot-Hawley exacerbating the Great Depression and thought Trump's tariffs would be causing the same type of dislocation. To this point, I admit I am wrong, and that the President is a master strategist using the tariffs and threat thereof as a means to strengthen America's negotiating positions. There are and will be new duties on foreign goods imposed by master tactician Trump, but under the careful management of the President and his economic team, the possible harms of the tariff policy are being mitigated and our nation is prevailing in economic talks with countries that have taken advantage of Uncle Sucker since the 1970's. Under Trump, we win!

Grotesque Genocide Lie

In the first instance, why have none of Israel's Arab neighbors welcomed "refugees" from Gaza? Why is Egypt not held to account for denying Gazans an escape route along the shared border? In the second instance, if Gazans are "starving", why has the United Nations stockpiled massive amounts of food aid there, rather than delivering it? It is because the UN will not distribute the rations under American and Israeli auspices and insists Hamas, the terror group that started the conflict have a hand in doling the meals out. Hamas steals almost all the relief intended for the people and sells it to noncombatants at exorbitant prices or uses it to feed its own fighters. Is the situation bad in the Gaza? Obviously, yes it is because the people who started the war with a real attempt at genocide of the Jews still run Gaza and are intent to continue their aggression against their Jewish cross-border neighbors, some of whom they are still holding as hostages. 

Just Nine Billion

To cut nine billion dollars of spending, it was like pulling teeth from an angry rhinoceros. In a nation with trillions in debt and around three and a half trillion dollars in annual Federal spending, the powers-that-be made it difficult to even have a tiny reduction in the bloated expenditure. We are not talking about paring back nine hundred billion or even just 90, but a mere nine billion dollars, or an amount that might be a tad more than Trump's net worth or a small fraction of Elon Musk's giant nest egg. The President is serious about saving the taxpayers money, but the Congress obviously and sadly is not. 

Biden: Deficit Hawk?

Some empty-headed DemocRATS on social media are claiming that the previous President battled mightily against the Federal deficit. Crumbling Joe did no such thing. The extraordinary government spending engendered by COVID simply ended. That was all the reduction of debt there was, save for some curs to the one necessary Federal expenditure, that being the defense of our nation. Trump wrestles against the deficit but had to spend because of the Pandemic. Biden never really took an effort to limit government spending. Only the fear contagion subsided and the never-before seen budgeting for the China plague naturally ended. 

The Real Resistance

Donald Trump is trying to preserve liberty on this earth and restore prosperity in America. Who would oppose an American President doing that? The people attempting to thwart Trump at every turn are Communists and/or Islamists and/or lunatics. What sane person does not want to live free and be prosperous? 

No Consequences Though

I believe Truth or Consequence is a town in New Mexico. It is not a situation high-ranking DemocRATS encounter in Washington, D.C. Obama apparently led the "get-Trump" forces. He will never be convicted of leading or participating in undermining his successor's Presidency though, as he is NOT a Republican. Only GOP members are called to account in our nation's capital. If Obama were a white Republican, the powers that be would be readying a prison cell for him right now. 

The Real "Collusion"

The actual collusion was not between Trump and the Russians, but between the high-ranking DemocRATS trying to deny Trump the Presidency, then remove him from power, and finally to incarcerate Trump on bogus charges. Trump was and is strongly against Putin's expansionist ambitions. It was Obama who allowed the Russian dictator to capture Crimea. It was Biden who sent Putin the signal that a "limited incursion" into the rest of the Ukraine would not necessarily draw the wrath of the United States. The conspiracy was never Trump cooperating with a Russian tyrant but between Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and their confidants undermining Trump. 

Met Ozzy Once

It was almost inevitable if you grew up in the Nashville of old that you would end up rubbing shoulders with certain celebrities. One of the luminaries I crossed paths with was the gone-too-soon Ozzy Osbourne, who left us earlier today but not without leaving behind a legacy of memorable music and occasional controversial antics. I had occasion to speak with him twice at two different locations on the same night, though he seemed almost catatonic sitting alone with his retinue watching him with a non-alcoholic beverage at Sherlock Holmes English pub on Elliston Place during Ozzfest Nashville, and later that same night at South Street Crabshack and next door at Bound'ry. He had listened to my conversation with the English Jewish bartender at the pub earlier in the evening, and knew me by name and cared enough to warn me off a music producer's extremely famous singer wife. I didn't realize when I said "hi" to him early in the evening that he even knew what city or perhaps not even what country he was in, as his eyes seemed glazed and he mumbled back something indecipherable, but later that night he called me by name and instructed me not to "mess with" Mutt Lange's spouse who I had shared a table with at South Street. Ozzy was a talent who enjoyed "interesting times". He will be missed, but his music will keep him with us in a way as long as there are ears to hear it. 

Palestinians Spurn Peace

The powers that be among the so-called "Palestinians" do not want peace. They will never settle for a "piece" of what is now (the democratic, tolerant, and pluralistic) Jewish State. Palestinian Authority and Hamas leaders want every centimeter of what is now leaders, as do Islamic Jihad members and the murderers of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command. No Palestinian with power is willing to compromise with Israel. None is willing to abide Jewish neighbors living as equals and few will tolerate live Jews at all. The "Palestinians" had a provisional state in Gaza and used it as the worst launching pad for terrorism that any had ever encountered, with rockets, then missiles, and finally a blood-drenched pogrom emanating from "free Palestine". No Israeli Jew, who is sane will ever countenance the two-state solution again, because their counterparts want only one state and that is a judenrein one. 

Why Play Fair?

Have you noticed Islamists initiate aggression, then flee and hide behind their women and children? The terrorists in Gaza built plenty of tunnels that their civilians could use as bomb shelters, but Hamas does not let noncombatants in, only the jihadists themselves and their hostages are permitted in the Gaza labyrinth.

There is no coexistence with a certain religion that demands its adherents convert infidels by the sword and should they permit someone to live who is not a practitioner of this so-called faith, forces them to pay a "special tax" called jizyah. This religion instructs that male non-believers should be beheaded and their wives taken as sex slaves. The West should exclude any group that practices violence from the usual protection afforded religious freedom.

Donald Trump is not to this point mentally deteriorating the way his predecessor obviously was. The current President is an elderly man though, who could go from evident vigor to disability fast. People can be perfectly healthy one day to incapacitated the next. Trump is no exception to this inevitability. We only grow older and more infirm over the course of time (if we are fortunate enough to live to those so-called "golden years").

Those who hate Trump are glad to believe that the President and Epstein were bosom buddies, when in fact, the moment Trump got wind of improprieties Epstein was allegedly engaging in at Mar-a-Lago, the then developer and now leader of our nation, kicked the disreputable "financier" out of the club. Trump might have secrets he wants kept from the public, but they are not about perverted Jeffrey.

For all the grandiose visions the President's supporters have of him, Trump is just one more self-serving politician. He keeps more promises than previous Presidents, but he is NOT perfect and perhaps not even good. 

Truth About Epstein

The world is curious about whether Epstein was an "asset" of some intelligence service. I would say that he quite possibly was, but the speculation that he was working for Israel is groundless. Israeli authorities have arrested several Jews on the ground there for spying on behalf of Iran during the recent conflict. Just because someone is Jewish by birth and practice does not mean they have a superior loyalty or even any loyalty to the Jewish State. Could Epstein have been an agent of Israel's intelligence service? Maybe, but he also could have had other masters not connected to Jerusalem or Tel Aviv at all.

Apparently, a white convert from Christianity to Islam decided to attack a State Trooper and then gun down members of a Lexington, Kentucky-area church. The gunmen evidently had mental health issues, but authorities must look into his dealings online to find if any foreign actors influenced his madness.

You will know if the Trump administration is lying to you about Epstein by watching the actions of Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Dan Bongino. If Bongino resigns or is fired, you know a cover-up is in force. 

Real Deep State

Could the current Attorney General of the United States be a holdover from the Deep State that Trump has been confronting for nearly a decade? Pam Bondi did the President no favors with her muddled statements on Epstein. Was she party to a conspiracy?

The mayor of a city or governor of a state can't simply contravene Federal law. The United States had a Civil War in the 1860's that established who has primacy, and that is the national government. If you believe this course of action is wrong, win some elections and change the laws, but don't attack police and ICE agents for protecting our country.

They report a weather-caused tragedy as if it was somehow the fault of Trump and the Republicans and gun homicides as if the weapon got up and loaded itself before going off with no human agency behind the trigger. Love your neighbor, but do not believe the smear merchants reporting their agenda-driven "facts". 

Danger of Water

I remember the "millennial flood" in my hometown of Nashville, Tennessee in May of 2010. Until you are in such an event, you can't imagine water's power and speed. You will not be able to conceive of how fast an area goes from bone dry to completely inundated. I have witnessed from afar, many killed at Arkansas campgrounds when a flood occurred with a rapidity that none could have anticipated, and just now am mourning the Texas tragedy. If you are where water is rapidly rising, it may already be too late. Then again, you can't always stay up on a mountain either. 

The "Gay Guy"

Is Mayor Pete the best Presidential candidate the DemocRATS can muster? He did not even particularly distinguish himself as mayor of tiny South Bend, Indiana. Buttigieg failed miserably as Transportation Secretary, yet he appears to be the leading contender for the Presidential nomination by that flailing party in 2028. He will not be President though as Black men, who tend to be a strong constituency for DemocRATS, will not vote in large numbers for someone who is homosexual. 

Completely Beclowned Party

The DemocRATS now have more open hatred of Jews than they did when the Ku Klux Klan was a force in the party after America's Civil War. They just had a "leader" make a filibuster-type speech to block the Big, Beautiful Bill that stopped nothing. One of their leading Presidential candidates Governor "Newscum", as Trump so aptly calls him, is out looking for support in early primary state South Carolina, instead of being back at home helping to fight the largest fire of the year now striking California. The Jackass Party is certainly living down to its image. Happy Independence Day! 

No to "Grandstanding"

The "Big, Beautiful Bill" is not perfect but is vastly better than its alternative, which would allow the largest tax increase in American history to come into being. We should not permit the will of one Representative who has garnered a couple of hundred thousand votes to overcome the sound judgement of a President who has secured the support of over seventy million voters. In this instance, Trump is absolutely correct that this bill must become law. 

No Gaza Ceasefire!

Any truce in Israel's war on terror that permits the survival of Hamas as an organization is a defeat for the Jewish State. Netanyahu wants the living hostages released back to their families, but the fate of twenty or so people is not worth the ultimate cost that would be that Jews tolerate barbarism inflicted on their women, children, and even babies, and will allow the perpetrators of the outrage to survive to conduct future October Seventh-type massacres. If Hamas slips away, the future of Jews in the Holy Land is placed in peril. 

Colorado Jew Lynching

It does not matter if a Jew suffers death by bullets at the periphery of Gaza or murder by burning in Boulder. Both events carry on the evil work of Hitler. To protect ourselves, we must remain ever vigilant. To save our People, we must preserve Israel as our place of sanctuary, for days such as those we now confront. 

Senseless Idaho Murders

When my ninety year old father's spine problems that led him to his final stay started, we called Nashville's fire department to help stabilize him. They were incredibly gentle with Dad. They ultimately carefully loaded him into the ambulance that took him to Saint Thomas Hospital. These first responders were huge, burly men who acted as angels of mercy. Anyone who targets a fire fighter in performance of duty should face the harshest sanctions law can apply. What sort of monster starts an inferno to lure those who come to extinguish it into an ambush? The attacker is gone from this earth but will face eternal fire for his evil deed. 

Could Sliwa Win?

Did you know there have been Republican mayors of New York City? No, this is not fiction, GOP candidates have actually won in the Big Apple. Rudy Giuliani won the mayor's office as a Republican, and at one time Michael Bloomberg was actually a Republican too, so it is not entirely inconceivable that at some point a Republican could prevail in New York again. It just is NOT going to be the founder of the Guardian Angels Curtis Sliwa, who stands the same chance I do, and I am not running. 

The Aliyah Option

Jewish Americans enjoy a "right of return" to Israel. The Jewish State remains the refuge for Jews of last resort, but I frankly do not see that America is that bad for our people at this moment. You may have a heart and soul call to return to your religious "roots" and that is fine if you want to answer and return to our proverbial "home", but you are not being chased there from the United States, at least not yet. 

Flee to Freedom

New York City is likely about to become Pharaoh's Egypt to its Jewish residents. They will not be taken into bondage but will have their freedom and safety grievously threatened. You had best not walk down the street in a kippah, if the Muslim Marxist wins. Better remove that mezuzah from your exterior door, unless you are eager to be targeted. Go to shul after the election- you will be taking your life in your hands. Sure you will still be able to be a Jew in New York after the vote, just don't do it publicly. Keep your faith to yourself, and maybe you won't be assaulted for it, or you could make aliyah to Israel, or move to Florida or a similar "free" US state.

The idea that some candidates might drop out of the race for mayor of New York City, so everyone could have one pick to oppose the radical Muslim seeking the job is farcical. Is a Republican is supposed to give it up in favor of an independent? That is NOT going to happen. Nor is the converse- Adams is not leaving the race. Neither is Curtis Sliwa.  I hate to think this and fear it, but the new leader of America's largest and most Jewish city is going to be a jihad-supporting Marxist.

If AOC wants Schumer's seat in the United States Senate, it will be hers for the taking. Yesterday's mayoral race proved that city is a Leftist sewer, where the most progressive rat will win the election, even if he is a Jew-hater, in the most Jewish place in America. Schumer will be trounced in the DemocRAT primary, if Ocasio-Cortez decides she wants the office. The day of the moderate or centrist DemocRAT is over in the Empire State, with the radicals now holding sway. 

Rely on Iran?

The Islamic Republic has been violating international norms since Khomeini took power. You do not capture an embassy, but he did. You do not blow up peacekeepers, but the Ayatollah did. You do not assassinate people in other countries, but Iran did. You do not commission a fellow to try to stab an author dead at a conference in New York, even if he only manages to blind the writer in one eye. The mad mullahs may make a ceasefire for their own survival but will keep the truce only as long as it is to their advantage. 

Not "American Aggression"

When I was in eighth grade, the Iranians captured the American embassy in Tehran. I am fifty-eight today. The mullahs sent suicide bombers to murder Americans in Lebanon not long after they held our diplomats hostage. They have been attacking Americans ever since, killing at least six hundred US personnel in Iraq alone. America struck back occasionally but not nearly hard enough to dissuade the Ayatollah. Evil, if left to its own devices, spreads like a cancer, until it kills off good. Trump surgically removed a substantial portion of that disease last night. The dark side still lives, but it is substantially weakened.

Really Just Words

The representations that Iran's nuclear program was peaceful were an obvious lie. Why would a nation swimming in oil need to build nuclear reactors? Do they lead the world in broken bones and need ten million X-ray machines? Do they abhor light bulbs and just want to glow in the dark during the night? The only reason they wanted their nuclear program was to make the world's most destructive weapons, to use to eliminate the Jewish State and then to extort the world. 

Not Just Words

The Islamic Republic has been shouting "death to Israel" for decades. This is not mere rhetoric, but what the mad mullahs have put into action first with proxies, but then through direct attacks on the Jewish State. The Ayatollah did not just say "the Zionist entity is a cancer" but put words into action to harm Jewish people around the world, many of those not Israeli at all, but simply Jews involved in their community in Argentina or visiting Romania. Israel is NOT the aggressor in the current conflict but is responding to multiple attacks that have lashed out directed by Tehran that have murdered innocents not just in the Holy Land but thousands of miles from the Middle East. There is also the element of preemption in Israel's self-defense, as the mad mullahs will gladly obliterate Tel Aviv, the moment they have the nuclear weapon to do it with, as they have vowed to do openly and committed billions of dollars of resources to achieve. 

No, Not Turnabout

I see some posting that Israel "attacked hospitals in Gaza", and now, Iran is exacting a measure of vengeance by hitting a hospital in the Jewish State. The IDF was not attacking hospitals in Gaza but the terrorist infrastructure built within the hospitals or underneath them, or simply jihadists hiding inside the co-opted facilities. What the Israelis did was pure self-defense, while Iran's assault is a deliberate strike on noncombatants and as such is a pure war crime. 

An Obstinate Fed

The markets would soar if the Federal Reserve cut the interest rates a full point. They would have if Biden were still President but not for Trump. I say audit the Fed and let the public know just how "honest" they are. 

Pray for Victory

I will NOT be praying for peace. A slave may have that but would rather enjoy freedom. The grave offers perfect tranquility, but I see few rushing to enter it. The civilized world needs the mad mullahs that enslave the Persian people vanquished. Israel, the United States, and the West require the elimination of the Iranian nuclear program. Decent people across the globe who do not want embassies captured or blown up want the Ayatollah removed. Peace will be wonderful after the IDF has won and removed the most consequential threat to humanity. 

Heed Israel's Warnings

The IDF is urging Iranians to leave areas around military targets. The Islamic Republic is issuing no such advance notice to the Israelis they are about to strike, who happen to be almost exclusively civilians. I have heard the the IRGC is ordering Iran's civilians to remain where they are, as like the Palestinians, the mad mullahs who enslave the Persian people want plenty of human shields so they can show the "carnage" to the world that Netanyahu is inflicting. War is a terrible thing, but clearly there is only one moral and righteous party in this current conflict. 

Iran Targeting Civilians

The Islamic Republic is firing missiles at more or less random targets in the Jewish State. Israel is carefully removing regime targets with surgical strikes, while the mad mullahs hit women and children, Christians, Jews, and even Muslims with some of their careless launches actually striking Syria. You see why reckless and irresponsible atavists like those in Tehran must NEVER acquire nuclear weapons- because they are wanton murderers who will slaughter anyone to advance their cause. 

A Protracted War

Iran and Israel have been at war covertly for years. The only quick resolution I see as possible now that the fight is ongoing and in the open is if the people of the Islamic Republic throw off the yoke of theocracy, which is a long shot in the foreseeable future because the government of the mad mullahs enjoys a virtual monopoly of force, with few guns in the hands of Iranians not linked to the regime. 

It Has Happened

All hell has broken out in the Middle East, with little Israel trying to prevent total annihilation at the hands of the mad mullahs of the Islamic Republic of Iran. I see the destruction has started but have no notion how it will end. The IDF is NOT the aggressor as Iran and the proxies directed by the Ayatollah have been attacking the Jewish State and more broadly Jews across the globe for decades. Netanyahu had no choice but to hit now, before Tel Aviv was wiped out with a nuclear missile. 

Little Weekend War

Radio host and catastrophist Glenn Beck and his chief researcher declared today that Israel will attack the nuclear sites of the Islamic Republic of Iran over this weekend. Others have similarly prognosticated what may be the beginning of the end for all humanity. I have no idea, as the open source intelligence on which I formerly depended has mostly gone away (primarily the former DEBKAfile that did break some scoops and seemed relatively reliable, particularly when it came to the Middle East). The Jewish State will do what it deems is best for Israel, but that might just spark World War III. 

Boeing Dreamliner Nightmare

When you board a commercial passenger flight, you expect to safely make it to your intended destination, or you certainly would not fly. Ships take longer, but you are still able to travel from India to London, with no risk of crashing from the sky. Boeing used to make reliable airplanes. I am less than confident they still do. I would rather take a month to arrive someplace safely, than board a quick flight for a sudden demise. 

A Brighter Future?

Things will be brighter on June 14, which is President Trump's birthday. The night will be positively aglow as many of our cities will be on fire. This date will be a coordinated attack on our nation by the hard Left. 

Shoot the Rioters

Those trying to kill law enforcement in the immigration riots need to be shot, not with foam or rubber bullets but with lethal munitions. If you drop a cinder block on a policeman from a highway overpass, you are trying to kill him. He has every right to defend himself with his service weapon. You are not practicing civil disobedience but trying to commit murder, and that attempt should be met with maximum force to protect the lives of law enforcement and innocent citizens alike. Kill a few of these street thugs who are trying to maim and murder, and this outrage will soon abate.

Keeping them here is an undue expense imposed on taxpayers and risk to everybody. The cost they impose and the damage they do to American cities must be laid at the feet of those shielding them, like Mayor Bass and Governor Newsom. This list of infamy sadly includes the mayor of my hometown of Nashville, Freddie O'Connell. 

Not a Deterrent

Because you have a seventy year old reserve officer directing traffic in his uniform, albeit armed, as you are arriving for Yom Kippur at your shul and then leaving services, do not confuse that with actual defense against a terrorist attack. You would be better served if several congregants had training and used their concealed carry right to put an element of doubt into any possible attacker's head. "How many of these Jews are actually armed?" "How much resistance am I facing?" "Will I be martyred before I am able to kill some infidels"? That is the real protection, not old John Law, however nice he is and engaging with the congregants. 

Israeli Security Consultants

Jewish communities in the United States should consider bringing in IDF and Israeli police experts on terrorism to map out the best security precautions and to train American Jews in the methods of protection used by the country most under jihadist siege. For decades, Israel has been on the cutting edge of thwarting jihad, and now that the threat is on our shores, it makes sense to call upon the expertise of the best counter-terror forces in the world to strengthen our synagogues and temples, schools, and community centers, making them as difficult to target as they are in the Holy Land. 

Burning Holocaust Survivors

The people that hate the Jews want to kill our Jewish babies, our Jewish grandparents, and every Jew in between. They could not care less if they are red-headed infants (see Bibas) or silver-haired grandmothers. The enemies of our People want our blood and are none too picky on whose blood that ends up being. They would try to murder me or a whole classroom of Jewish day school toddlers. I have some ability to defend myself, but our little children do not. We must protect ourselves and each other. 

A Martial Art

If you happen to be Jewish (as I am), you should study a martial art, as it seems we are all wearing bullseyes right now, and we would be well-served to make ourselves a hard target. Krav Maga is a good option, if you have a competent instructor nearby, but any training is better than none at all. Brazilian ju-jitsu from the Gracie school is also excellent, particularly for grappling. If it is legal in your locality to carry a firearm, seek the necessary training and licensing if required and have the means at hand to protect your family. Finally, rally with your Jewish neighbors, fellow congregants at temple or synagogue and learn to recognize and how to deal with threats both to individuals and more broadly to the Jewish community. 

More Blood Libel

A jihadist or Marxist my have literally pulled the trigger, but the lies besmirching Israel's conduct in Gaza proverbially loaded the gun. No military in the world takes the precautions the IDF does to minimize casualties among the other side's noncombatants, yet the Jewish State is smeared with massacring Palestinians, starving children, and even genocide. The only recent attempt at genocide was on October 7, 2023, and it was committed by Gazans on Israelis. 

Sweets Are Served

After many terror attacks, Muslims hand out candies in their neighborhoods to celebrate. They shout "God is great" in Arabic and cheer on the murder of innocent people. Massacres are met with parties that lift up the perpetrators and call for even more slaughter. This is not a religion of peace, but of conquest and forced conversion. The West needs determined defenders to not become dhimmi to be subjugated until the end of time or until they too convert and become Islamist oppressors. 

Hate Crime Terrorism?

The Boulder, Colorado attack should never have happened. The alleged assailant was an illegal alien from Egypt. Open borders (which were Biden's, not Trump's) have consequences. I do not want to see the perpetrator deported back to his home country. If God-willing the injured ll survive, I want "Mr. Molotov" imprisoned here to his last breath. If some of the injured succumb eventually from the burns, I want this jihadist executed.  

The Gaza Truce

Any ceasefire in the Gaza Strip that allows Hamas to survive is a defeat for Israel and an invitation for future attacks on Jews worldwide. A truce now is a harbinger of surrender to Islamism by the Western World. It is capitulation of civilization to jihad and will mark the beginning of the suicide of the West. The loss by the IDF will be felt far beyond the Middle East. 

The Neutered President

I do not like the Trump tariffs, but I do not want a Federal judge blocking them. The President needs the normal authority of the Office to negotiate for the United States. The Courts are crippling America by limiting the options Trump should be able to use, even if they are negotiating tactics. 

Unemployment Creeping Upward

First time jobless claims rose slightly. This is a good thing in a way as rising unemployment pressures the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates to stimulate job growth. Chairman Powell just had his "come to Jesus" meeting with Trump but was not persuaded and apparently intends to hold rates steady. The Fed seems as much of an impediment to the President as the Courts are at the moment. 

Nolensville Is Lying

The city of Nolensville says it needs to raise property tax because of the need to provide additional services to a rapidly growing community. The necessity of a tax increase now is hokum because the growth has actually broadened the tax base. With vastly more people paying property tax, there is no need to increase rates. The larger number of homes means a greater number of homeowners paying the property tax, which naturally increases the city coffers WITHOUT having to raise tax rates. The argument over this is similar to those who refuse to use dynamic scoring when it benefits them to push for higher marginal tax rates at the Federal level. The politicians and bureaucrats pushing this municipal tax rise always have a rapacious appetite to take more and more of your money. 

No Actual President

If courts issue restraining orders against everything a leader is attempting to implement, a void exists and a country is leaderless. You can't block every action of the chief executive and really continue to have a "President". Trump is apparently not permitted to "preside" over anything. It is all now in the hands of the unelected judges. His first term was marked by being harassed by largely whole cloth investigations launched by political opponents who thwarted Forty-five from saving the nation. Now, the judiciary has taken over where the legislature and the bureaucrats were restraining the President before; so Forty-seven is in a limbo catatonic Forty-six never faced. 

Trump's Tariff Gambit

I know some of the tariff threats are part of the "art of the deal". Trump is using "huge" tariffs as a ploy to soften the position of the other side. Forty-seven also must be aware that the prospect of a trade war is sinking US stocks. I wonder if anyone in the President's inner circle is shorting the market. I would not have thought anything so untoward and ethically wrong could happen, if Trump had not hosted a fete for the largest buyers of his meme crypto-coin. Trump's actions also make me question if he has a vested interest more broadly in pushing cryptocurrency. There may not be a trade war, but in any event, I think Trump's close circle will end up richer. 

For Somber Reflection

I will not be partying today or going to a sale. My uncle by marriage was killed in a Consolidated B-24 Liberator in the Second World War. A cousin died in training. This is not the day for me to open my pool or throw a keg party. Lieutenant Nathan M. "Ned" Hatkoff, Aunt Redi's talented husband, and fearless cousin Ralph Shepard, who kept up with his brother champion diver and later prisoner of war Al Shepard, today I think of you and the noblest sacrifice that kept me from ever knowing you. Dad, I think of you too, trying to join the glider corps, and passing all the mental requisites before an army doctor found your cancer. I guess I was lucky just to have been born more than twenty years after the aforementioned events. Families do not necessarily want heroes, just sons that come home intact (and daughters too in this "liberated" age). The price of freedom is paid in blood. 

John Wayne Attitude

I have always enjoyed John Wayne movies. I also tend to agree with much of his conservative worldview. I only wish he had served in uniform, so nobody could label him a "chicken hawk". Reagan with nowhere near the stature as an actor managed to sign up. Even Henry Fonda, he of the Leftist spawn, fought, while Wayne sat out the Second World War. 

Jews Tried Before

Maybe the idea of Jewish self-defense is NOT actually revolutionary. It has been attempted in the past, but that led to the leaders who organized it dying under mysterious circumstances in Federal prison (Irv Rubin and Earl Krugel of the Jewish Defense League). So the implementation of self-protection of the Jews in America is certainly fraught, but when people are murdering us in the street, the effort is mandatory. The Jewish diaspora must be strong like the nation of Israel and stop relying on "tolerance" by folks that can't stand us as our shield for survival. 

Really Jew Season

All over the globe, it is open season on Jews. We are being hunted from Washington to Western Europe and are under constant threat in the Holy Land. I have a revolutionary notion- fight back! 

Green or Red

The Communists murdered huge numbers of Jews, less than Hitler and the Nazis, but a significant loss of human capital. The International Left, is home to some Jews (in name only, because their practice of religion denies God and is marked not by fealty to Torah and Tanakh but Leftism), but still this side of the political spectrum is dangerous to the Jewish People even if those of Jewish heritage are some of the most outspoken radicals. Muslims have been persecuting Jews since the inception of Islam (Khaybar massacre led by the Prophet). The hostility by Mohammadans to the oldest Abrahamic faith has not abated since. Last night's Washington shooting was NOT carried out by a Muslim, unless the assailant converted, of which there is no reportage, but by a Leftist. You are just as dead if a Marxist shoots you as a jihadist. A world of woe awaits the Jews, not from a particular corner, but from the so-called Right John Birch Society types, the Noam Chomsky kind of Israel-hating Jews, the progressive to radical Left more generally, and, of course, the jihadists fanatics. So the Jews face dangers from turncoat Kapos seemingly inside the tent and are vulnerable from every side. 

Federal Reserve Stymies

It is NOT Trump creating issues for America's economy (although the President's tariffs certainly do complicate matters). It is the FED that is keeping interest rates high to fight the chimera of "inflation" that is. This practice was not followed by the Federal Reserve when Biden was spending fiat currency like a drunken sailor as the greenbacks were flying off the smoking printing presses. It is only when the Donald is in office that the Fed decides to work at cross-purposes to the President and his economic team. 

Weighing the Cost

If Israel accepts a ceasefire to free the remaining hostages, it will be committing national suicide. There are relatively few remaining hostages alive (less than twenty-five), and to stop crushing Hamas now would be opening hunting season on Jews by every jihadist on the planet. 

Marking the Days

The hostages that terrorists seized in Israel on October 7, 2023 have been held in Gaza far too long. This has been no Six Day War glory for Israel or even near tragedy like the Yom Kippur War of 1973, but a national humiliation for the Israelis who have lost their reputation for being able to do the seemingly impossible, and look weak and ripe for the picking by the mad mullahs of Tehran. I am not saying the IDF has lost its edge, only that is likely the perception of implacable fanatics in the Islamic Republic of Iran and their Houthi henchmen in Yemen. There is no deterrence to the Twelvers, who now see Israel for all the alleged might that nation possesses as incapable of stopping incoming missiles and even unable to rescue kidnapped people after over a year and a half. 

Mexican Navy Tragedy

A tall ship of the Mexican navy struck the Brooklyn Bridge last night killing at least two sailors. My initial reaction was "how tragic". My second take was who even knew Mexico had a navy? My third reaction was that it is kind of hard not to notice you are about to have a portion of your vessel plow into an enormous (and incidentally legendary) bridge. I hope the injured of which there are several all recover, and for goodness sake Mexico, buy a craft that is propelled by a motor. The age of sailing ships in combat effectively closed with the Merrimack and the Monitor during the American Civil War in 1862. 

Beyond Faded Joe

The prosecutor interview about the classified document tapes demonstrates conclusively that Biden was not responsible enough to have his hand on the nuclear button, so who did? No longer competent Joe probably could not differentiate between the nuclear codes and his tax return. He reminded me of the dotard who is sent on the harmless mission to go to the corner store to pick up a two liter ginger ale but comes back four hour later, when everybody is frantically searching for him, without the soda but with a light bulb that doesn't fit any lamps or fixtures in the house. Joe wasn't merely the golf ball lost in the tall grass, but someone who you would not trust to watch your three year old for five seconds, but some would have you believe that even as that special counsel was asking those questions, that Biden was directing the defense of the nation. 

New Mideast Partnerships?

Why should America join an Arab state in the Persian Gulf to create an Artificial Intelligence center? If such a hub is going to be constructed, would it not b better for the United States to keep it close to Cal Tech or MIT? Would the data not be more secure here in the homeland? What record of technological achievement makes Abu Dhabi a suitable location for the most cutting edge project? 

Trump Blesses Qatar

Qatar is second only to the Islamic Republic of Iran in the sponsorship of jihad. Qatar has funded Hamas and shielded its senior leaders. Qatar hosts and substantially pays for the Jew-hating liars of Al Jazeera. Qatar is friendlier to the mad mullahs who oppress the Iranian people than the other Arab states. All in all, the only aspect of Qatar that does not shout anti-civilization is that they host an American military base, and now, the Qataris have further tried to ingratiate themselves to Trump by offering him a four hundred million dollar airplane. Did Forty-seven rebuff this "gift" that looks to some like an attempt to bribe? No, he wants the fancy aircraft. I do not trust Qatar or their "good intentions" and am amazed and saddened that the American President did not knock terror-enthusiast Qatar back.  

Trump Kisses Syria

The new dictator of Syria has permitted Alawites, Druze, and Christians to be slaughtered. This butchery was no impediment to Trump shaking his bloody hand. Trump is sadly proving himself to be opposite of a champion of human rights as he removes sanctions against Syria just as that country tries to eliminate its religious minorities.

The opposition party in America is now composed of ingrates, turncoats, indolent parasites, and the mentally ill. Oh, my bad, I left out Marxist traitors and Islamo-Nazis. 

Blood Libel Approved

The NHL is fine with blood libels against Israel and by extension Jews, but defend Israel, and you are suspended by the League. Doug Cifu, a minority owner of the Florida Panthers, who happens to be a Jewish supporter of Israel, countered the starvation/genocide in Gaza lie so prevalent among the Jew-haters, and for his effort, the powers-that-be in hockey suspended him. Screw the NHL- a bunch of anti-Jew, Israel-hating bigots are in charge of pro hockey. 

Age and Rank

I happened to read an actor only in his forties just succumbed to cancer. Emperors, kings, and business titans have lost the battle with the Big-C. I do not think cancer will be cured in my lifetime or several lifetimes, although the chance to finally defeat cancer will likely be helped by advances in artificial intelligence, which sadly carries huge risk on its own, even as it may help humanity in the war against heretofore terminal illnesses. 

Surprisingly Flexible Trump

Was Trump running a bluff? Were the tariffs just a negotiating ploy? It sure seems that way, if you read translations from the Chinese press (which it goes without saying is state-controlled media). The Reds are crowing about how accommodating American negotiators turned out to be. Were the tariffs merely posturing all along, not meant to break Beijing but to fool Americans into thinking Forty-seven is an incredibly tough guy (who in reality folds like a cheap suit when another country actually stands up to him)? The market futures seem to like the pull back by the United States, but in the event, this did not turn out like brinkmanship, but only a giant show to demonstrate to the domestic base what a fighter we have in the White House, who turns out to give Red China most of what they wanted even though they remain an implacable enemy to the USA. 

The Perfect Game?

Because of inclement weather, the Southeastern Conference will not have a champion in softball but two. These co-champions would both almost certainly have gone to the NCAA Tournament anyway to vie for a national title, which ultimately will be played out on the field and not called for thunderstorms. 

No Vance Communion

After thousands of pro-abortion politicians, who happened to be Catholic, received no punishment from the Church, it has been suggested that Vice President Vance, who is a convert to Catholicism, will be denied communion by the new Pope and his underlings. Why? Because he is an American conservative and opposes Open Borders, which is a position the Catholic Church (as it existed under Francis and now Leo) can't abide. So, to slaughter the unborn in the millions is tolerated, but to keep foreign criminals and mental cases out of your own country is an unpardonable sin under current Catholic doctrine.

Does anyone else find it ironic that a bunch of people are getting together to elect "God's emissary on Earth"? Why would the good Lord delegate such a task to mortals? I also heard the "voters" must take a "vow of secrecy" about the proceedings. This should not be too difficult for an organization that hid the largest instance of pedophilia the planet has ever suffered through for generations. 

Carriers Still Risky

At the onset of US Naval carrier aviation after the First World War, a number of pilots were lost in accidents. A century later, off the coast of Yemen, two F/A-18 sixty million dollar planes were just lost to mishaps within a week. Thankfully, no personnel were killed. Aircraft carrier service will always be a dangerous occupation. 

The Arrogant Nation

France will save the Ukraine. Yes, the country that could not defend itself not just once but twice from the Germans will now throttle Mother Russia. France wins, so long as America's military ends up doing the fighting. 

The Indispensable Nation

The United Kingdom gave us the Magna Carta and Shakespeare but that was long ago, and Britain has not done much since, except lose an empire and fail to win any significant wars without help. France produced ballet and some pretty good eating, but without the assistance of a particular country, would be a province of Germany today. Germany produced fierce fighters and good beer, but made my relatives (as I am Jewish) into soap and lampshades, and would have done similarly nasty things to us all had one particular nation not stood to block its path. That one country that has consistently paid the price for freedom is the United States of America, without which the world would suffer under despotism and darkness. 

Never Follow Blindly

Always think critically about who you are going to support politically and why they have earned your backing. I voted three times for Trump and do not regret my choice, not because Forty-seven is perfect, or even good, but because his opponents were so loathsome. 

A Boat Rocker

Donald Trump is anything but a conventional politician. His tariffs are not all positive for America and may end up being not positive at all. The problem with rocking the boat is that sometimes you end up falling off, and there is real potential for recession or even worse as Trump policies take increasing hold of the beleaguered economy of the United States. If everything from abroad, which at the moment remains most of what Americans need and must buy, ends up costing more, wages and salaries must increase. Trump has written the prescription for increasing the inflation that his voters elected him to fix. 

Age of Miracles?

Perhaps in our technological age, we are witnessing ""miracles", but I do not see them. Where are the cures, or even the treatments, and what has this alleged advancement brought us in this age of COVID? Maybe, humanity used up the miraculous in the times of the Bible. 

God Bless Trump

Canada decided to diminish itself and limit the rights of Canadians by perpetuating Trudeauism with Carney. I do not particularly care what these sanctimonious neighbors do to themselves. It just makes me that much more glad to be an American with a great President defending freedom here. 

The Last Hedge

The final barrier to oppression enveloping the whole world is the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. Were it not for hundreds of millions of guns in private hands in America, the globalists and the Deep State would impose tyranny on all mankind. 

No to Canada

Would you really want the Great White North to become America's fifty-first state? I do not want the morons who voted for Carney to become part of my country. Keep the United States great by keeping those bizarre and self-righteous Canadians out of our still sane nation. 

Beware of "Journalists"

The dinosaur press and even the leftward portions of New Media are enemies of the people. They all saw Biden's obvious decline but only now, when it is irrelevant to anything except their flagging credibility, are they mentioning it in public. So the "guardians of truth" will only let you know what the facts are when their revelation can't harm the Left. 

Beware of Liver

If you ever do acquire a Keeshond, have your veterinarian pay special attention to the liver of your pet. Three of our Kees ultimately succumbed to liver cancer, although one of those Bru did so at the ripe old age of eighteen (which is a pretty good run for this breed). 

The Keeshond Disposition

Some dogs, particularly members of the Retriever family, have sunny temperaments. Not many folks would say that about their Keeshond. This is a stubborn breed that only wants to go in the one direction that does not lead to the safe and welcoming confines of home. This type of dog would not bark if someone was breaking into your house but will not stop barking when you are on the phone with your doctor trying to hear if your biopsy came back positive for cancer. This fellow went through al the recommended training steps before the introduction of the kitten into your household, then found the newcomer to be absolutely delicious. No, Keeshonden are not for everybody, just for owners with Job's patience and Musk's wallet. 

The Tiger "Lily"

We had a Keeshond named "Lily" who was as large as a female German Shepard both in height and weight (about twenty-four inches at the shoulder and seventy-seven pounds).  Every time she stepped out, I would find her munching on squirrel(s) and or chipmunks that she would track down with her amazing speed or moles and voles she had dug up. She was Carnage, Incorporated to the small mammals in the backyard. The smart ones avoided the fenced in area where we let Lily roam to at least have some chance of survival. We had one flight of stairs leading to the backdoor in the daylight basement, but I never saw Lily walk down it. She would leap the entire nine steps every time in a single bound with her feet touching down only when she was on the floor thirteen feet below. What an animal- one perfect killing machine! 

Beware of Bird

A couple of years back, I was being swooped by a territorial blue jay every time I walked out at the west of our home (the bank executive side, not the movie star one). This bird was relentless. It would fly just over my head, so close I could hear and feel the rush of its rapidly flapping wings. Still, I had matters to attend to at that portion of our house, like taking out the garbage and recycling. One day, this blue fury finally (from my perspective) went too far. He/she actually grabbed a hunk of my hair toward the back of my neck and yanked it out. That's right, this inedible turkey pulled some of my locks out by their very roots. After that, the diving bastard actually left me alone. I guess the jay had made its point. 

Beware of Cat

One of my great aunts maintained a menagerie in her apartment in Manhattan. She had dogs, cats, and a monkey she called "Cochise". She fed a pigeon at her window that she named "Walter", but he was not the Walter acclaimed for his work on the silver screen. Aunt Bertie had a Park Avenue vet make house calls to care for her flock back when veterinarians did such things, and one day after the treatments she was escorting the doctor back to the elevator when a vengeful cat ran out and bit each in sequence on the ankle, resulting in two awful infections and no more home visits by that particular healer. The dog may or may not be man's best friend, but surely cats are unpredictable. 

Beware of Dog

A long time ago I knew a fellow with a huge Queen of England Line yellow Labrador Retriever named "Charter". This dog was as large as a Great Dane, must have weighed a hundred and fifty pounds. He was by no means a vicious animal, just large and strong and not comprehending his own strength. We were warned when we visited that Charter would be "rough" when he greeted us upon our arrival at "his" lakefront home. His owner actually suggested we roll up in a ball if he knocked us down to let him "burn off some steam" while figuring out who we were. I was confident I could handle him because I had grown up with a one hundred ten pound Flat-coated Retriever who was pretty dominant in his own right. Man, was I ever wrong. This dog outweighed me at the time and knocked me down like a bowling pin. Then, to show his "affection", Charter stomped on me a few times, with my thinking at the time being the big boy was just trying to make sure I was dead. I survived my encounter with this monster whose owner insisted that he is "just friendly and a gentle giant". Dogs are man's best friend, but with a pup like Charter, you really do not need enemies. 

Beware of Vance

The Vice President of the United States visits the Pope, and the very next day, the Pontiff is dead! Usually Vice Presidents are only sent to attend state funerals, not cause them. Perhaps, J.D. will be invited to visit old Putin. 

America Left Vulnerable

Our enemies abroad fear Donald Trump, and for the United States, that is a good thing. If Forty-seven is seen as an iron leader of unquestioned authority that makes America's enemies tremble, but when Federal judges and the Supreme Court manacle our President that actually weakens us in the eyes of the rest of the world. An unthinking judiciary is turning a rampant bull into a feeble steer, and the perception of the rest of the globe will surely reflect that they are witnessing American Courts castrate a formerly strong President and that will transform America from the bully on the block to the skinny fellow who has sand kicked in his face. American courts are not simply coddling foreign criminals, lunatics, and terrorists; they are also making us weaker and inviting aggression against the Homeland by deliberately handicapping our one elected LEADER. 

The Failure Factories

I saw a story today about a ten year old home schooled girl who just completed not one but two college degrees. If she had remained in the temples of indoctrination that are America's public schools she would likely be a fourth grader and have her intellect restrained and talent trapped. The best action a parent can take for an exceptional child is to remove them from state-run education. 

A Brighter Future?

Had Kamala Harris secured the Presidency, the United States would have had no chance for better prosperity or increased freedom. The Trump victory by no means ensured an improving economy, but at least Forty-seven is a capitalist, and not an empty-headed, sloganeering Marxist. Tariffs might not ultimately help Americans and in the short run, are undeniably causing the pain of increased costs, but they beat central planning and the Communist re-founding of our nation. 

The Glacial Pace

If Trump were an emperor with unquestioned authority or truly a dictator, perhaps he could save America. Because he is not a tyrant and operates under law, Forty-seven is being blocked from doing much of anything. It seems every action the executive branch attempts to embark upon is stymied by some court or another. No leader could function under such strictures, and the President is not exempt from having the rug pulled out from under him by Leftist judges, who are demonstrating their determination to keep the United States on the path of managed decline, rather than aiding the effort to return our nation to greatness. 

Such Fast Change

If I had bought a Tesla vehicle a year ago, I would have been an environmental hero. If I purchase one today, I am a Nazi. Oh, how rapidly the worm has turned. Maybe, you really never were stopping global warming by driving an electric car, and perhaps Musk does not actually equal Hitler, but simply someone who wants to restore fiscal solvency and sanity to the United States. 

Pennsylvania Governor Attacked

A bizarre arson attack damaged the Governor's Mansion in Pennsylvania. The arsonist apparently carried a hammer with the intention of beating Jewish Governor Shapiro. Fortunately, the assailant never was near enough to the Governor to implement that portion of his deranged plan. As a Jew myself, I have to wonder if part of the motivation of the perpetrator was antisemitism.

Should I lie and say I bought during the Trump tariff panic? I did not buy, nor sell either, but watched in horror as my stocks dropped like a lead balloon.Will the shares come back? Maybe, I certainly hope so, but stocks tend not to bounce back but to recover much more slowly than they crashed, if we are lucky enough that they rise back at all.  

When Tariffs Hit

The tariffs Trump has imposed have not really bit yet. The American People have not seen how much so many items they need simply to live will go up when the tariffs kick in, and only then will they start to realize how expensive life is about to become. MAGA will lose considerable support when folks see how much it is costing them. 

Feel Like Winning?

When you lose a fifth of your portfolio in a week, is Trump winning? Can you afford much more of Trump victories? Will your retirement investments withstand much more of Trump "prosperity"? How much will Trump's tariffs cost you and your family in the end? 

Blood and Treasure

Americans are suffering at the hands of Team Trump with the irresponsible and destructive tariffs, but just wait for the pain when the President does the bidding of other nations and attacks the Islamic Republic of Iran. Then, the mad mullahs will send suicide terrorists the world over and cut off the Straits of Hormuz, and America will find out what misery is all about. 

Does Trump Care?

The President makes a great show of being filmed with "angel families" or hostages formerly held by Hamas after they are freed, but does Trump actually have any empathy? It is when he gains political points that Trump demonstrates great concern for certain people, but when the cameras are off and no advantage is to be gained, does Forty-seven actually give two cents for the condition of Americans? Trump's reactions to the economic dislocation brought about by his tariff scheme shout "NO". He is not the least bit worried that you lost ten percent or more of all you had in the span of a few short days. Trump is not bothered in the slightest that you now have to push back retirement because your 401(k) tumbled mightily. Trump may just be the awful con man that the opposing party said he was. 

Trump's Grotesque Hubris

Does Trump not realize how much he is harming the investor class in America with his ill-conceived tariff policy? Trump is breaking the entrepreneurs who create the vast majority of private sector jobs in an effort to bring back illusory blue collar assembly jobs that are already gone everywhere because of advances in robotics and automation. He is destroying both the goose and the golden egg in service of a vision that has been extinguished, so that even if the industry returns to American shores, it will bring very little employment with it for human beings. Trump is waging a fight that was lost in the 1970's when Japan began preying on US automotive manufacturers, but Trump is too bullheaded to see there is no turning the clock back decades, and no way the tariffs uplift prosperity for most of the American People.  

Forward Thinking President?

Imagine an old codger of an American President closing US markets in 1930 to everything made abroad because he demanded all the wagon-wheel making jobs be brought back to America. Most of the country erupts because who is still traveling by wagon in 1930? Why are you punishing the vast majority of Americans to bring back something no longer useful, a relic of past lives? We don't need wheelwrights anymore, we have cars now, but just move that forward almost a century and see how little concern Trump has for the plight of most of his countrymen. Mr, Trump, your tariffs are a tool of a bygone era and are harming almost every family! 

The Southeastern Dominance

This season's SEC men's basketball will be crowned as the best by any conference so far. In the championship game, Florida was not overpowering but scraped out a hard-earned win. The Gator victory capped off a spectacular year for the league, wherein all but two teams were invited to the NCAA Tournament, and half the Final Four were members, with the Gators ultimately proving supreme and acquitting the Southeastern Conference as the toughest ever in Men's Division I. 

The Right Thing?

Trump waging a tariff war now is not necessary and will destroy his popularity. After the election where he not only won the Electoral College but the popular vote, Trump had a mandate but that was to restore and enhance prosperity, not to cause a recession. Have other nations exploited the United States? Sure, absolutely but the answer to that is NOT to make the American people suffer more by tanking the 401(k)s and stocks. Waging the tariff fight now is a choice by Trump, and a very destructive one for Americans just digging themselves out of COVID economic dislocation and the Biden mismanagement. Please President Trump- wake up and stop crushing your own voters. 

The Realistic View

Trump's tariffs are a terrible mistake from many perspectives. They may be the absolute right course for anyone interested in fair trade, as America has been subjected to unfair practices that negate free trade for decades. Everything from tariffs against exported US goods, to markets completely closed to certain US goods, to currency manipulation, particularly by Red China, have been implemented to harm America. In order to have truly free trade, it must be a level playing field for every country, but it has been slanted against American manufacturers and farmers with Trump finally fighting back on their behalf. The problem with Trump imposing tariffs now is that he is harming most Americans, and the goal of bringing production back on shore may ultimately help very few as those returning plants will be automated and staffed by many robots and only enough people to service the robots that will actually be making most of the goods. As for monetary policy, is Fed Chair Jay Powell right that the Trump tariffs will spike inflation, and therefore, the Federal Reserve can't lower interest rates to stimulate the economy as Trump demands? Yes, but Powell was silent as Biden and his rubber stamp Congress were spending the United States into oblivion, and actually tailored American monetary policy to keep DemocRATS in power and in the White House. Powell will stand as an opponent and obstacle to Trump while he was just the opposite to Biden and Harris. Trump's policy is moral and correct but also enormously destructive to the prosperity he is trying to deliver. 

The Pessimistic View

Trump imposing tariffs may be the morally correct path because American goods have been subjected to foreign tariffs without response for far too long, but what of the damage done to most of America's households? Everything they were buying from abroad will now cost more, but they will not be making anymore to pay for it. Not to mention the 401(k) and individual shareholder bloodbath taking place. Sometimes, doing the right thing is painful, but these tariffs are killing us, and there is virtually no upside for America as technology is replacing workers everyday and everywhere, so jobs will not be coming back to our country in any significant numbers, even if the manufacturing facilities ultimately do return to our shores. 

Bit of Optimism

Donald Trump can't cure what ails America's economy. He will not be in office long enough to undo the damage of awful economic policy, lousy negotiations with foreign leaders, horrendous trade policy, and cronyism that have reduced the United States to where we are now. Ross Perot heard that "giant sucking sound" of American jobs leaving and could not have been more right but was mocked by both liberals and conservatives alike, when time has demonstrated that the factories really did depart in droves with NAFTA. The problem we have at the moment is that Trump can't reverse the decline in four or even the somewhat mythic eight years (which won't happen). He is also poisoning his MAGA brand so that he will likely not have a successor to continue his "bring jobs back to America" mission, and industry is changing with automation and robotics, wherein the blue collar positions will be reduced substantially no matter where the assembly and manufacturing plants are. So the President in attempting to do service for Americans and in principle absolutely the right thing is in the process of making Trumpism toxic and ensuring it ends with this one last term. Then back to the Deep State, the Swamp, the offshoring of jobs, and the managed decline of the United States we go.
